Banchan Korean Bistro 반찬

Delicious food with good size portions, service was prompt and very attentive along with the atmosphere being really welcoming.

The staff were lovely and the food was amazing. Some of the best Korean fried chicken I’ve had.

Took 45 minutes for my order. Servers are clueless and it is evident that customer service is not important to them. Just like the other reviews, my first impressions were not great.

The beef bulgogi which was $25 had an embarrassingly minimal ratio of beef to veggies. See the pictures. It is really unfortunate because I was really hoping to find a good new place.

No half ratings on Google. I would give this a 3 and a half out of 5.

I’m on a quest for Korean baby! Today’s stop is Banchan in Langley.

Started off with some Bao Bun and I was a little underwhelmed. The bun itself didn’t give you that pillowy, cloud-like texture you pray for every time you order Bao. The pork belly also kinda tough, which is not what you want from pork belly, you expect a buttery, tender bite. The bulgogi Bao bun was a step up and a lot more flavourful.

Next I ordered the Tuna Bap. It was absolutely killer. Seared to excellence. The rice had a little crisp edge to it, and the portion size was more than I was expecting.

My friend who tagged along ordered the cold noodles and the bowl was massive! An array of flavours to mix together and experience. I took a couple bites and was wildly impressed by the fried kale, it adds a nice crunch and freshness to the bowl.

The service there is pretty poor, one waiter who rarely comes around even when we came at a very quiet time. The waiter was also not able to answer much about the menu.

All in all i’d go back again to explore more of their menu.

I ordered the Japchae and it can with barely any beef. Pretty much all noodles for the price of $22.

I have had great food from here before but was very disappointed with this item.

The food ranged from decent to not great. The chicken was served without any dipping sauce, so we ordered some - I feel like it needed a clingy/thick sauce, the soy-sauce based one we got was not great with it. The kimchi rice was very one-note and not very interesting. I liked the fried brussels sprouts, they had great texture but maybe a little bit too salty? The portions were generally quite large, though.

The service was terrible - the two waitresses were constantly looking down or seemingly anywhere to avoid eye contact. We had to wait a really long time to order and it wasn't that busy - I ended up having to approach someone to get them to take my order. Just basic stuff like scanning the room to see who is trying to catch your eye or is clearly waiting would be nice.

The bathroom was frankly disgusting - there was a cleaning schedule on the wall that was completely blank, which was a bit telling.

This is one of favourite restaurant for Korean food. It's a bit expensive but the food is amazing. Love it!

It was 2nd time to visit here. Was disappointed with the service but the food was ok so we we went back but the service wasn't good again.

We have live here for a while (5+ years) and just found this place by searching for an alternative. The inside decor is a mix of old and modern with some antique retro pieces in a few spots.
The food is really tasty and served fast. Try the kimchi cheese fries and the mini angry chicken.

You would think a place called banchan bistro would have plenty of banchan but they didnt. We ordered a fair amount of food too.japchae, seafood pancake, a big share platter with different meats, a big plate of kimchi fries. It was good, but nothing really stood out and made me say I can't wait to go back. Especially without the side dishes which are my favorite.

Great little hidden gem in Langley. I loved the sous vide pork belly and the noodle dish we had. The tables are placed too close to each other, but it was okay. It's a nice to grab korean fusion food + drink if you're in the area.

This is the favourite Korean restaurant of mine. My wife and I come here at least once two weeks from South Surrey. The food here is amazing. Delicious food with reasonable price. We tried almost half of the food on the menu. I feel like we cannot make a wrong choice here. Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup, Angry Chicken Bite, Cold noodles, Rice cake, Seafood Pancake, Kimchi And Cheese Fries are all our favourites.
Service here is off the chart, and people are super super nice!

I don't go to this restaurant often.
But every time I go,
the staff is really friendly. Especially Emma remembers me and she knows exactly what I like.
I think it's an important advantage.

Kimchi stir-fried rice didn't have any kimchi in it. Their bbqed Bulgogi is super sweet. They also forgot Gochujang for Bibimbap when I did take out. I'm disappointed.

Friggen awesome Korean food. Like, all the stuff you see in them Korean dramas. 100% would recommend to anyone. The service is also quick and the staff are extremely nice. Well done y’all!

I've been ordering takeout since September 2021. I've ordered maybe at least once a month or more because the food is soooo exceptional. Honestly I've and lots of Korean food in Toronto, and in Korea but this food is my absolute favorite. Very big portions, and I've never been disappointed. Best Korean food ever! We were in probably 100 korean places in the past but this place is fantastic. Excelent quality food for very little money ;) well done guys! Most important finaly somebody serves filtrated water in nice ss cups not a plastic cups and tap water.

First time trying Korean food & their spicy fried chicken was so good! Tender chicken, not too spicy (kind of sweet also). Servers were friendly.:)

One of the restaurants that make Langley one of my favorite places to go for a meal. All around very nice tasting food with a great atmosphere. The portions were also really good, under $20 for an entree and they fill you up. I mean seriously, look at the size of the cold noodle dish, it’s huge and it was tasty. I am also 90% sure they slipped an extra piece of pork belly into my kimchee fried rice, which made me a very happy boy. This place is a lovely find for sure and I will definitely be coming back. My one criticism would be to make the spicy fried chicken a little less sweet. If there is an option to get it less sweet, then there is no criticisms from me at all. Everything is perfect.

The food is always amazing and the portion size are big! Service is always friendly and we used to eat here twice a week. They did increase their pricing so we don't eat here as often, but it's the best Korean restaurant in Langley!

Best korean restaurant ever! I live in coquitlam where there's alot of Korean restaurants but I drive all the way here for the quality.

Delicious! Servers are very helpful and attentive. Meals are good value. Good for 2 or 3 if you don't eat as much as we do. Lol.

Been here multiple times. The food is fantastic, the service is wonderful, and the attention to Covid protocols has always been a step above what other restaurants do.

Had the bulgogi chicken bibimbap with the cilantro chilli sauce and it was delicious! Everything was very fresh and the bowl was beautifully put together with the right amount of rice to veggie ratio. The dishes the rest my table ordered were equally impressive. A great find.

Nice & clean Korean fusion restaurant in Willoughby!

First time here, the food quality was quite good, and the atmosphere was good as well. The interior finishes and cutleries didnt look like just lower end materials, but gave the restaurant an elegant look & feel.

I ordered the spicy seafood noodle soup (해물짬뽕) and the spicy tuna chirashi don (참치 회덮밥), and both were quite good quality, with decent amount and good presentation (photos below doesnt look as appealing since I forgot to take a photo right when they came out). Even though the soup was a bit salty for my taste, the amount of seafood that went in the soup was satisfying (I never see crab in this dish anywhere else).

The service was good, but the price can be a bit higher than other typical Korean restaurants in Metro Vancouver.

I've been to this restaurant of couple of time with my kids and wife. The establishment has clean and fresh vibe. The food is great, and they have options for young kids too. The servers are polite and helpful at for every question. Truly a place to visit again and again.

Rued staff! The waiting area was full and no space for 3 of us.we waited beside the entry door (not infront of anyone at all) and suddenly the casher lady yelled at us for not waiting in the line? Excuese me? We were all wondering where is the line? Maybe outside of the store? So of course we left for something else and never will back to this place again.
I also strongly suggest the owner to place a large sign to remind all customers to wait outside of the shop.

Dishes were very flavourful, and delicious! Service was wonderful, and interior is very cozy and lovely. We are looking forward to going back!

The kimchi & cheese fries are phenomenal! I would suggest it as an appy, if you like a bit of spicy and sweet put together!

Great service. Moreover, their food is simply delicious. I'm not much of a meat person, but the L. A short ribs is cooked to perfection. It's well marinated, tender with full of flavour, the taste, which will linger for hours. Our family really enjoy eating their.

Just moved into the neighborhood and couldnt wait to try BanChan's Korean food. Wow it was amazing! Friendly staff and wonderful menu with pics of their dishes. It was hard to make a decision it all looked so good. Wow Is the word. From the Fried Bulgogi Mandu dumpling appy with a great soy citrus chili sauce which is 5 stars on its own to the Chicken Bulgogi. I am impressed. Cant wait to eat there again and try more items on the menu. I have found my new favorite Korean restaurant and its local. This is a gem and l Iook forward to recommending to my friends and neighbors. Dont miss out on this one. You wont be disappointed.

Good food, great location, nice ambiance BUT they do not deliver and are not on DoorDash, SkipTheDishes, etc.

Really great spot. Great flavor. The pork is so tender and jucy. The KFC chicken spicy apart for having bones it is amazing so crispy and light. Service is simple but fast and attentioned. Will for sure go back to order the ribs that next table ordered it look finger licking good.
