Bangkok City Cafe

Uber eats order F0268 yesterday was disappointing since we always enjoyed the food and service dining in. The mussaman chicken curry came with a leg and thigh instead of a breast and the panang curry came with fewer prawns that my wife had dining in not too long ago.

Little gem of a restaurant. Food was delicious (prawn curry stir fry and the pad see ew), the portions were very generous and the young lady server there was super friendly and attentive.

I had a very disappointing experience here. I ordered a fish curry, which ended up having small pieces of chicken in it and even a piece of hard PLASTIC! When I raised this, they refused to refund the rest of the meal even though they admitted fault (I had no interest in eating anything else that came out of that kitchen that day). Would never eat here again, apparently they changed ownership and it shows.

Food was very good and affordable (under $20). Gong Pad Kari was amazing. The prawns tasted good and were good size (unlike other restaurants that serve shrimp then call it prawns, prawns here were real).

The owner was very polite. Restaurant kind of had a Christmas feel with the green walls and red decor, as an asian, I actually liked it. I recommend

This restaurant serves some of the best authentic Thai food that I've found in Vancouver. I lived in Thailand for 13 years and am always on the hunt for Thai food that gives me that homey taste and feeling-this place does it!

Bangkok City Café is our favourite Thai restaurant in Vancouver! After several trips to Thailand, this restaurant is the most authentic Thai restaurant we’ve visited without the long plane ride to Bangkok! We love going to this family-owned restaurant and we are sure you will too.

Chris and Tina are the best hosts - always concerned that your dining experience is the best they can provide!

We started with an appetizer, Shrimp Trap, which was delicious! The “Tom Yum Koong”, a Thai standard, brings us back to our travels to Thailand and reminds us of the flavours and fragrances of the food we love so much. Our favourite curry is Penang Curry with chicken, which was excellent! My personal favourite noodle dish is the “Pad see-iw”, which satisfies my noodle cravings. Each dish has its own distinct characteristics and are honestly the most authentic Thai food we’ve had the pleasure of enjoying outside of Thailand. We highly recommend you visit this Kitsilano gem!

My girlfriend and I recently dined at Bangkok City Cafe and I must say, we were blown away! The food was absolutely delicious and the prices were extremely affordable. The Chicken Satay was delicious and the peanut sauce was a perfect combination, the Calamari was so flavourful also. The Red Curry was bursting with flavour and the Massaman Curry was a perfect blend of sweet and savory with beef so tender it melted in my mouth.

But what really made my dining experience at Bangkok City Cafe stand out was the owner, Chris. He was incredibly welcoming and made sure that we had a great experience. He even took the time to ask us where we had come from and expressed an interest in everything we said.

Overall, I would highly recommend Bangkok City Cafe to anyone looking for delicious and affordable Thai food. The quality of the food, combined with the exceptional service from Chris, truly make this restaurant a five-star experience!

Excellent! I ordered take out and it was just perfect! Vegetarian Pad Thai with extra veggies, green curry with chicken and extra veggies and no bell peppers. No mistakes and absolutely delicious! Will definitely order again!

Had the Spicy Eggplant dish with tofu which I think was well made but just too sweet for my taste. Service and ambiance was pleasant though.

Please don’t tell anyone about this restaurant. It will get too busy! Chris and the family bring classic and delightfully spicy (if you ask) Thai cuisine.
