Barcelona Tapas & Wine Bar

We always love coming here when we visit Bowen Island. The owner and staff are always personable and attentive and the tapas are delicious. We love their popular eggplant tapa and there are so many others to choose from. There is a nice patio during the busy summer season and we enjoy the more intimate indoor dining experience in the off season. Service and food are always great regardless of season! Try a signature "mini beer" before you leave.

We had an outstanding dinner experience at Barcelona’s on Friday evening. Delicious selection of tapas, congenial host and waitress, excellent cocktails and capped off with a wonderful dessert beverage called a “mini beer”. Most enjoyable experience.

Serving spanish tapas, so many to choose from, and all prepared to excellent taste and flavour. We enjoyed 6 dishes which all amazed us. The selection of wines, and desserts were also a nice selection of Spanish taste. Bon appétit!

Wonderful experience. First time trying tapas and did not disappoint. Also we appreciated the fact that they took us without prior reservation which is really rare to get in any of restaurants in the island during summer busy season.

Great little place i will be back for more tapas next time i get onto the island. Superb talent in the kitchen creating such tasty edibles in a nice charming ambience. I also enjoyed the nice strong coffee and kudos to the great service to be flexible to my retired mothers picky preferences.

Can not write a review on the food, drink, and service because when I stopped by they haven't opened. This place is only open for dinner.
From the look of it, it has indoor and out seating. The vibes of the place might be relatively romantic.
The menu seems to be very broad! I do hope my next visit, I will have an opportunity to dine with them.

MADE my island trip! Unexpectedly good tapas on a small tiny island. Authentic, delicious and homey

Stop looking. You found the place. Fabulous. Super friendly, excellent service with the star of the show being the tapas. Oh, and try a mini beer. You won’t regret it!

Overall I had good experince. We tried 8-9 tapas within our group. The food was tastey and the service was very good. The only downside was the fact that dishes were a bit pricey for the portion of the food being offered.

This restaurant was the kind of tapas place that is very hard to leave. Those chorizo sausages are so good so, another round! The best were the little beers for desert. We had to keep the recipe. A very original Catalonian restaurant. Don’t miss it.

Amazing food. Every dish is very flavorful and unique. Fascinating choice of ingredients too, things I've never seen before.

Cons: Pretentious and bang average food for price with small portions (yes I know what tapas is) also tiny Margarita.
Left feeling hungry and thirsty.

Pros: Waitresses were good, seated fast and food arrived fast.

Fantastic experience. Highly recommended. Order the eggplant to arrive last and be certain to try the mini beer.

Absolutely amazing! Everything just melts in you mouth, sending your taste buds into heaven. Definitely need a reservation for this cosy quaint restaurant. Thankfully, Guillaume was able to squeeze my friend, and I at the bar which was just perfect to see all the food coming through the window! I'm still dreaming about that wild mackerel!

We had such a lovely experience here! The owner responded to our email reservation request very quickly, and greeted us the next day when we arrived. We had the fried eggplant in honey, which was absolutely delicious. My husband hates eggplant and loved this dish. We also had the chorizo, prawns, patatas bravas, and bread as well. Everything came quickly and was full of flavour. The owner kept checking on us and making sure everything was perfect. Sangria was delicious also. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends. A+

Really really great. Food was delicious. Prompt service. Friendly staff. Excellent atmosphere. Make reservations for this place before your next trip to Bowen.

Just hopped in for a quick happy hour bite before the ferry ride. The sangria is delicious. We also ordered a cured pork sausage plate and patatas. Both dishes are fairly decent. Will definitely come back for a full meal next time!

Best place for Spanish food.

Just go there and get ready for suprise food like. Berenjena con miel Or Tortilla
I don't want to say how it taste like but nothing spicey.just surprise yourself.
&Ofcourse they have lots of wine but I tried their Sangria which was good.
*Most of the food is under 10$ so you can try 3 different dishes under 30$.

I went there during pandemic they are maintaining social distancing min 3ft-4ft.

Down to earth and refreshingly so! Spanish cuisine with a "Je ne sais quoi" south of France charm.

Divine food! Make sure to reserve in advance as space is limited during the COVID restrictions.

Excellent food! Everything we tried was superb. The fried eggplant with honey and mint was especially tasty. (As seen in photo) The staff was great and covid spacing was well planned.

We had an excellent experience here this past weekend. The food, service and sangria was better than anything in Vancouver we’ve had. Everything was so good, we went back for ‘Tappy hour’ the next day! Highly recommend. Thank you!

Amazing food, great service, and lovely ambiance. Definitely small tapas style so coming with a big eater can get very $$$. The mushrooms are to die for! Can't wait to go back.

Fantastic tapas on Bowen Island. Went here with my parents and it was a perfect cap to their Christmas visit. Service was attentive and prompt. We ordered almost everything on the menu, quality an flavors were unique and consistently delicious across the dishes. Favorites were the croquettes (bechamel and spanish ham that night), the braised ox tail, and tuna tartare.

Wonderful experience here, will go back when we have more time and try more dishes. Everything we had was well prepared and presented. No pic of our prawns because they disappeared too fast. Oops

Been to Bowen many times but never over the dinner hour; being New Year's Eve, most other places were offering special set menus, but these guys had space and were offering the regular menu so we popped in. Everything was splendid - cozy and relaxed, attentive service (the French gentleman and young ginger chap were outstanding), and our fellow diners were typicalyl friendly islanders. An excellent way to herald the New Year (omg the scallops) - can't wait to return!

Visited here on a less crowded day with my friends. We ordred three different dishes to try out their menu. Everything comes with a side salad and bread. The food was not so great but was fine.

Sauteed prawns was the best and has a good mix of flavour.

Steak was really aweful. Their meat wasn't taste good and had a fould smell.

Salad dressing was lil off which resulted in a really dull side

Above all this, they had such a small portion size and we finally ended up in a Tim. Sorry guys, But for the money we spend there, we didnt get enough food

Stopped by for a quick bite waiting for the ferry back to Vancouver. We went during “Tappy Hour” and enjoyed a very yummy Sangria. Shared some amazing tapas, we loved the fried eggplant and cured pork sausages! Yum! The waiter was very attentive and made sure we got our food quickly in order to catch the ferry. A lovely way to finish our day at Bowen Island, highly recommended!

We didn't make a reso, so we had to sit at a 'wine barrel table' which was not super comfy - would recommend making a dinner reservation on a Saturday night.

Good Sangria but terrible service. Waiter did not enter our (very simple) order for a solid 20-25 minutes and then claimed that it was because it was “very busy” when we ordered (one other table had arrived.).

We went to Barcelona for my wedding rehearsal dinner and we were not disappointed! If you are looking for delicious food, a nice ambience and good service than this is the place. Thank you to Guillaume for accommodating all 20 of us. The crispy fried eggplant and crispy potatoes are a must try. We’ll be back!

We had the best brunch there on the day we arrived, the portion of the meal is as good as dinner for us. On second day, we decided to go back and try the Tapas, it was simply the smartest decision we have ever made. We ordered four dish, the pork cheek, baby squid, fava beans and the awesome cured wild sockeye salmon! We chose Flao 8 as dessert and it was also excellent. So three days here we visited this place twice, the reason should be rather self-explanatory. A must go spot if you visit Bowen Island.

Outstanding food, fresh ingredients and fresh recipes, constantly changing, excellent service, great wines too. Attentive, creative management ensures this restaurant is always creating top value and enjoyment for the customers.

Ordered about 50% of the menu and would've loved to try everything else. So delicious. Portions are perfect for 2 hungry people. Next time I go to Bowen Island, I'm just going to eat here for dinner every night. Lovely ambiance as well. My partner and I didn't have any reservations but were luckily able to get a seat during a super busy night, but would definitely recommend reserving a table next time.

Good eats, but it starts to add up real quick. After ordering 75% of the menu, a handful of us left for get food elsewhere.

This is one of the best restaurants on Bowen Island. Not quite authentic Spanish but very good high quality ingredients.

Fantastic tapas. All the details of the interior thoughtfully done right down to the Moroccan light fixtures and warm fireplace. Lovely owner and staff. Highly recommend. Eggplant and mushrooms were the best.

I order the lamb and crispy potato. Love it so far.
Overall, good foods but the portion is quite small for me. Price is a little bit high.

Another good evening at Barcelona tapas & wine bar. The food is amazing, tasty and well presented. With my girlfriend we love to go visit Bowen Island, Barcelona Tapas & wine Bar is part of it because the service is friendly and professional. I definitely recommand this restaurant if you go to Bowen Island for the day.
