Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken

If I could give this place 0 stars I would, the reason behind this rating is because I was there recently with my boy friend and family and he accidentally left his bag behind right before they closed. We called them to inform them we would be in the next morning, we went in and revived the bag to only find his cash and debit card stolen after they told us everything was in that bag. We understand it was a mistake on our part for forgetting the bag but we requested to see some footage and to talk to the manager but it’s been a week and still no response

Amazing food, music, service, and experience. This location of Barcleos needs to win awards for the tremendous food and service. They have the tastiest, juiciest chicken. Its soooo healthy and yummy! The menu options are all so affordable. The writer Krishna is extremely kind and will go above and beyond to make my experience amazing!

They have the most delicious sauces, you have to try Prego! And don't get me started on the desserts. The coconut ice cream is addictive.

Spotless, great vibe, and very fast service! Sahil is an excellent waitress. She makes you feel like VIP. It is my favorite restaurant for celebrations! Thanks to the amazing staff!

Our family loves coming to this location. The servers are great and adjust the food to our needs. The young male server was excellent and did a great job and was very friendly. He made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended for families.

Always a great spot for lunch! I stop by every week and always leave happy after a great chicken lunch!

The food was amazing, the chicken, the potatoes, the everything. I ordered the Chicken wrap with a side of mashed potatoes. My only complaint is that the portion sizes are little too small. Maybe if they used smaller plates it would not seem that way. But other than that very minor complaint. 5/5 would dine again.

This is the first time I write a negative review, usually if I don't like the place I just ignore it.
The restaurant looks cool and on a good location but the moment that you enter through the door an awful smell attack your nose! I don't know where it came from, maybe because the kitchen door is open all the time or maybe they have some plumbing issues, I ma not sure.
For the record I haven't tried the food there yet because I used to go to pick up delivery orders and everytime I go there I got the same feeling.
I hope this review reaches the place owner and encourage them to take a look.

Great ambiance good food and great service. A deadly combination which brings smiles on every customer's face. We were surprised to see the variety in the menu which included wraps, sandwiches, rice bowls, meat options as well as vegetarian ones. That's alot for a 'chicken shop's to have. Very pleasantly surprised by the good service and the hot and tasty food. We order a variety and found everything to be above average. Will definitely visit again

The place was clean and smelled good. The staff and greeter was very nice. The staff member named Sukhman was awesome, she was great in getting food and drink to the table promptly. Checking on customer needs periodically. Not making customers wait overly long for any one thing. The food was fresh and best.

I like Barcelos because it is tasty and not over powered by chili. Their staff is very accomodating and friendly.

My wife came to this location to buy dinner. She asked for 2 thigh & leg and the spicy sauce. When she got home and opened the package it was wings & chicken breasts and no spicy sauce.

The feathers were still on the wings.very unappetizing.

I told my wife to always check what she is buying before leaving the store because people at Barcelo's know that if the order is wrong, we would not bother to drive back to get it fixed.

But then again, why do we have to? We shouldn't have to check if the food is good. The food should always be good. Otherwise, we'll simply not buy again.

Wow! I am new to BC (Surrey) just a little over 4 months and so far, this restaurant has the cleanest washroom I have ever been to here in BC smells real good too! As we all know, cleanliness on washrooms speaks more about how tidy the workers are. Good job well deserved 5 stars!

The flame grilled chicken at this restaurant was top-notch! The grill marks added a beautiful char and smoky flavor to the chicken, and the meat was juicy and tender. The seasoning was expertly applied, complementing the natural flavor of the chicken perfectly. The service was also excellent, with the staff being friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience and I highly recommend giving the flame grilled chicken and the excellent service a try. 5 stars!

Usually never had a problem with barcelos anywhere but I ordered takeout. No garlic bread or veggies because grill was off at 930 they close at 10, which is ok it happens. My chicken wasn't as good as usual skin was super soggy and chicken wasn't or just didn't seemed to be cooked on the grill properly.could be because they were closing soon. Fries were good though. Anyway bad experience for the first time at a Barcelos.

Very quiet during the day.not much ambience but grilled chicken is a healthier option so ok overall

I went there on Friday around 6: 30 pm only 1 table was occupied but still we were setting on the booth for 20 minutes but the server never came to take order and i went to the counter my self finally to give my order and when we got the Food there was no cutlery to eat with after 10 to 15 minutes we got the cutlery after the reminder. Food was good, but Service was pathetic. Management should trained the staff about how to prioritize the work.

I love the customer service of this store. Employees are always happy to help and the food is nice too.

This place uses to be good but the last few times we ordered from them, the pieces weren't good at all! We always order a bunch of double leg meals and the thigh wasn't even a thigh it was some weird piece that looked like the back of the chicken not the thigh even. And the chicken tasted old and not fresh at all. Very disappointing.

Very hit and miss with this place when it comes to take out. We ordered 2 whole chickens but they definitely put old pieces of chicken in with fresh pieces. The old pieces are dry and impossible to bite through. So disappointed. The old chicken is darker in color and burnt from being re heated on the grill several times.

We were 25 people and even so they received us and treated us very well, the food arrived quite quickly and of course the 5 family packages of chicken, salad, rice, French fries and bread were delicious, the fasciitis’s were clean and the staff was very friendly, 100% recommended

The quality of chicken is not good. They r not juicy and very dry. And put same pieces in a box. Chicken is over roasted and became chewy and is burnt. And the quantity of gravy is very less. It’s not even half in a small box. Very disappointed this time.

Great food however todays service fell short. I ordered 20 min in advance which included yam fries. I asked pls put the yam fry sauce. When I arrived, they forgot my order and took another 10 min. Then I asked if they put the yam fry sauce and server said it’s extra for the sauce. That was strange since I ordered the yam fries and also since she forgot my order, why would she also try to charge for the chipotle mayo sauce. Disappointed in their service today

Really liked the Chicken. Spice level is not too high so go at it. The sauce (looks like mustard) from South Africa is really nice. Service was super friendly. I also liked the spacious setting with lots of open space.

Ok if you want delish charbroiled chicken with a definite finger licking experience go here! Reasonable prices and fresh hot delicious food! I use this place for quick mid week meals I’ll order whole chicken and make salads or pasta at home! Also the chicken burger meal my kid swears by! A definite place to visit. Also wether I pick up or have it delivered by skip the quality had been consistently good. And the customer service was really good.

The chicken was juicy and cooked very well, not dry at all. Great comfortable restaurant setting and has TVs with sports on. Great staff, thankyou to Harman for serving us.

We (my family) like nando's and that's where we were heading until I saw this place so we decided to gave it a shot and oh man! We were glad we did,

It was actually great, my whole family enjoyed it
Chicken was moist and tender and flavorful, place was nice and clean
And crew was very hospitable, if I'm not mistaken Harpreet was one of the crew members, she was awesome

Awesome staff, along with delicious food. The inside was very clean. The peri peri fries are a must try, the seasoning on them just adds so much taste. Also, the vege burger is so good it also a must try.

Really disappointed in them. I always order from the King George branch. In takeout package they put some of stale pieces in the box with some fresh one. First time we started our dinner and found old chicken piece beneath the fresh ones. But we ignored. Then i happened Second time in a row and we reported right away. There was manager named Simrat at that time and she accepted and replaced the whole order right away. It happened to us three times now. We called again to report that some of the pieces are stale not all fresh definitely reused because the chicken skin was not over grilled but chewy like it has been regrilled. And we sent pictures too. But the new manager now says its all fresh and lame excuses. We did not wanted any refund or something but we were ready to replace right away but he did not listen to us.
They definitely need some food handling training. Old chicken could be hazardous.
Always check all pieces before starting your meal. There could be old chicken pieces in your takeout box.

Super friendly staff. They took an extra moment to review my to go order before handing it over and made sure everything was there.

I remember when this places first opened literally across from the police station here in Newton. Obviously they moved to this bigger location in the same lot as Canadian tire. They are in a corner spot but if your driving on king George they are at the corner of 74ave and king George you can't miss it. It reminds me of Nando's but for some reason the chicken burger from Barcelos is above and beyond better then Nando's, hands down. Above anything else the reason I give Barcelo's a four stars is because of the chicken burger.

Now aside from that Ironically I feel sometimes getting wings or pieces of chicken or the chicken kebobs, I feel sometimes the chicken comes out dry. Like if it wasn't for their sauce you would feel like your eating rubber. Just dry and takes a while to chew. But that being said its not all the time just sometimes. Now with that said im telling everyone and anyone who reads this the chicken burger is the best. That is always good and somehow I never have a problem with the chicken in that burger feeling tough to chew or dry. I don't know what it is. If you've ever been to Nandos this place is almost the same but personally I prefer Barcelos as I said though mainly because of the chicken burger.

Now I hardly ever eat inside because this place is so close to my home. I prefer to just order for takeout and eat at home, especially with the state of the world dealing with pandemic. But I always feel this place is kept pretty clean and tidy when I go in to pick up. Also whenever I go to a restaurant my biggest pet peeve no my biggest grip with any restaurant is punctuality, this place is perfect with there time. If they say 10-15 mins then that's the time it will take. Staff are friendly. Its a nice big location, lots of room. They seem to be following our provinces current health guidelines as far as sanitizing goes. As I said a big place so there is lots of room to separate if anyone is interested in knowing.

It's my very first time eating here and I am amazed by the great service and delicious food that was served today. I ce.with my parents and we enjoyed every single bite of the food.kudos to Simin and Aman!

The chicken is delicious and it's my new addiction! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable and affordable. I look at it like this, you could go to McDonald's and order 2 combo's, pay just over $30 usually or go to Barcelos, get a family dinner, whole chicken, 2 large sides with a ton of garlic toast all included for $40. It's so tasty instead of greasy. I always have leftovers because they give nice size portions. It's a win win ordering from here. DELICIOUS FOOD!

Ordered their 1/2 chicken from the grill, it was really tasty and good to know that they have halal chicken on this location.

Normally, we order from barcelos no issues.
This week we ordered, in the afternoon. Only words I can say was disgusting.
Chicken was hard and tasted as it had been sitting around from last night. Straight in the bin it went.
Really let yourselves down. I can actually state the food was that bad, I would not even feed that meal to a animal.

Ordered half chicken n peri fries. Chicken was soooooo dry! Also came out.warm.i think they precook a bunch of chicken and then reheat it on the grill when u order. Would explain the dryness. Thought the peri peri sauce could save my almost 20 dollar meal. Poured out some peri sauce and it was almost like water! Now i got warmish chicken with watered down peri sauce.the fries were good. Go to nandos instead

Perfectly cooked and great flavor, skip the fried stuff elsewhere. There’s choices of heat to choose from but if you’re not too tame you’ll love the kick. Service was very good, always making sure we didn’t need anything. Defdirenly would eat here again, too bad they don’t have it where I live.

So amazing food, really enjoyed it. Portions were really huge, had to take away the left overs.

They show you pictures of food they do not have they do not prepare it the way it is even shown they take the order in properly labelled the order properly and gave us the wrong order still for the price you're paying you get small portions and I'm not with the picture shows false advertisement to the max very disappointed in my food and the restaurant

OMFG. YUM! I love it so much. I was reluctant at first as the only peri chicken I had previously had came from Nando's (which I loathed with the first bite), but I adore Barcelo's.

I would give it negetive 1 of i could. First time going there tonight and when i asked if the chicken was spicy at all, was told no. Nearly burned my tongue off, when i sent it back they washed off the sauce and recooked it adding a different sauce. When i called her out on it she tried to lie but i had broken the skewer and took half the meat off before I sent it back and got the same one back. They offered to cook a fresh one but at that point i had lost all my faith and trust and my mouth was still on fire.
Asked for a refund and had to argue to get it. Never going back.

We enjoyed the family dinner today. This location has halal chicken. They had a welcoming staff and speedy service. Must try.

Can not ever go wrong with some flame grilled chicken here. I frequent this eatery a lot just because if their chicken and yam fries haha. The food was delicious, ample parking and location is central. Only had an tiny issue when our order was not fully recieved but we dined in so the waiter just went back and brought out the rest of the food.

This restaurant is located in East Newton. Mainly located at the intersection of 76 Avenue and King George Blvd. There is no direct garage door directly through King George. If you want to enter via King George Blvd, when you enter the road just past the bus stop and turn right and turn right again, then you can find the restaurant at Corner of 76 Ave & King Gorge Blvd. In addition, when you arrive at 76 Avenue enter the Canadian Tire, you will find it on the left. It has enough parking space. The house is spacious and lovely. They have Friedley Stuff.

I had to visit this place twice! Their chicken is so good! Their peri peri sauce is quite different but good! I like spicy stuff. The prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend this place.

Amazing food, good portion size and priced reasonable. The chicken was tender and bread was soft with unlimited pop. It is comparable to Nandos but Nandos have an upper edge when it comes to the flavour. The place is cozy and I didn't find any difficulty in getting a seat. The staff is professional and will assist you with your order. I will recommend this place to every chicken lover.

OMG. I had a staff lunch here. We ordered their biggest package with 4 side orders. BIG pile of delicious, moist, flavorful chicken with veggies and salads. I have to tell you that there was nothing left but a small pile of bones on the plates and a bunch of happy people on the table. Sooo good
