I moved from one aesthetician to another until booking with Tinelle years ago at Dona Lucia and since then, I haven’t looked back. She is great at what she does. Efficient, and awesome energy but she also really knows her stuff and it shows.

I have been coming to Bare wax for sugaring and had pleasant experiences. Recently I also booked a facial and manicure. The facial was effective at clearing my blackheads (although the esthetician did not use steam as other spas I had been). The manicure is the reason for the 3 stars. It’s the worst manicure I have gotten! Somehow their product and perhaps their method left my nails with small bubbles. Gross: (I picked an OPI product then got my nails dried under a heated fan. Not going back again!

The ladies there were very warming and welcoming as soon as you walk in. For someone who is very concern about cleanliness during these times. I appreciate that they take the time to sanitize the area before my appointment. Most definitely will come back. First time sugar waxing and they made it very comfortable for my first experience.

I got a Brazilian and under arm sugaring from Jess, she was beyond amazing. I have been doing waxing for about 7years and this is by far the best service I have ever had, Jess was amazing, she made me feel extremely comfortable and she did a phenomenal job, I feel smooth like a new born baby!

This shop caused me the worst pain. Waxing was done in 10 minutes and I checked at home and found a lot of hair left. Not meticulous, my boyfriend said it was his first time waxing and it felt like a waxer was tearing his skin. It occurred to me that waxers in this shop should be more trained. I don't know why this shop has a good review. A friend of mine two years ago had been waxed in this shop and bleeding in her skin. I'll never visit this shop again. They may be kind, but they don't seem to have enough skills.

Nothing can really be compared to a nightmare Brazilian wax. The woman I saw moved slowly and without confidence - not what you want when they're ripping hair from your sensitive areas! She couldn't get the wax to work so she tried sugaring. In the end I was sticky and raw. I only went because my usual place couldn't take me. I swear by "Stripped" and I will never go anywhere else again thanks to the torture session I experienced here!

I had a lash lift done by Jess last week and I absolutely love it. It was something I didnt know i needed until I got it done. I use to get lash extensions done biweekly but I've been giving them a break since covid and this is a great alternative. Definitely makes my eyes pop while wearing my mask all day. The space is so cute and everyone was super friendly. I was so relaxed that I even took a little nap while I was getting my lash lifted. I'll definitely be coming back.

Sana is my new waxer/threader and I thank the Universe that I just happened to be lucky enough to randomly choose this BEAUTIFUL studio and randomly choose BEAUTIFUL her when looking for a new studio upon moving from Alberta. Sana takes the upmost care when removing my fine, blonde facial hair, which is not an easy feat. She is just the best! I can’t stress it enough! I've been going to Bare Wax for probably 9 months now and I highly recommend it. Audrey is by far the best as she truly cares about her work and she takes her time to do a thorough job. She is super bubbly and pleasant to be around, I always enjoy her stories. I moved away from downtown to Coquitlam and I will continue to drive 45 min to visit Audrey.

Been going here for 2 years and it's the first and only place I've gotten sugaring. The staff are kind and they do a thorough job. They don't always have a threader in so if you're looking to get your brows threaded, call ahead and check which days they have one in.

I have been looking for wax bar fro a long time and since I have moved lately to W1st Ave, I looked for the most convenient wax bar in the neighborhood so I won't need to drive. First time I went there was more than a month ago. Over the phone, the receptionist didn't ask me to bring anything even I asked. When I arrived for my appointment, she said I didn't hav a mask and either I need to reschedule or buy a mask there! What a service! As a first, they did not remind me to bring a mask and secondly, they made me buy their mask even though it's their negligence.
Second time I tried to book online because it's easier for me. I have received a email confirmation and thought everything is all set.
I arrived ahead of time like 5 mins, they asked me to wait outside but their attitude was like you can't stay here because your time is not up yet.
I understood it's the COVID protocol now but the way they sounded as if you had violated the law! Then when I was called in, they cannot find my booking even though i showed them my email. The girl was really funny that I had to call their manager.what for? ! To discipline me for booking online? ! Their system glitched but no apologies is expressed!
After all, I had to leave with disappointment and it's a complete waste of time! Their customer service sucks! I love the neighborhood but people in Bare Wax seems to be quite stuck up with new customers!
I don't get why.did I get profiled that I might not be paying good tip? !

They are the best in Vancouver. I come in for eyebrow waxing and shaping every two weeks and I am extremely happy with the quality of their services. Very talented staff. I found them after I got my skin burnt at another "salon" on Davie street. The quality of the wax matters as much as the technique, and at Bare Wax Bar you get your money's worth, and then some more. Friendly people are always a plus; the owner is lovely. Great experience every time.

I've been coming to Bare Wax for my sugaring for the past year or so and I've had great experiences every time. Samantha was very fast and efficient. I had my appointment with Emily this last time, and she was just as great!

This place gets a 5 star on speed but speed can cost quality of service. I have been Waxing my arms and underarms for over 10 years and had hair left behind. The price reflected the quality and the time allotted for the service.

I really did not like that my technician got me to lay down on the parchment paper totally sticky. I told her I was super sticky that I didn't want to relax my arms, even before doing my underarms.

I was asked if I was going home to shower - and knowing I'm not supposed to shower after a wax for 24 hours I thought it must be a trick question - but it was not. I was then given wipes to remove the oil off my skin.

Love the owner. Love the people who work here. Both locations are great. Giving a 5 as they’ve been consistent. Only once the lady didn’t ask if I wanted a strip and I failed to mention it. A few times was left with leftover wax on me. They do get busy at the W 4th location and delays the appointment abit. Good part is 90% of the time they’re accommodating.

I went for my first Brazilian wax. The service felt extremely rushed, and I wasn't informed that I was allowed to take short breaks until I almost cried from the pain. It's been 2 days and I've noticed that the lady left some hair (random long hairs in the area), and a bunch of it is stubby and already growing back (broken instead of pulled from the root).

Afterwards, they tried to charge me 40, although the price online was 35 when I booked. However, they honoured the $35 price!

Honestly, super friendly staff and fast service. I got a brazzillian here today and it went really well. It was fast, not painful (as I thought), and great pricing. I highly recommend you all give this place a go. You won’t regret.

Very poor service. I wanted sugaring and requested it on the phone when booking. I know my skin doesn’t react well to waxing. Also, as a decade+ sugaring enthusiast, my hair is quite fine and will easily break if pulled against the growth direction. I arrived for my appointment, was split between technicians for legs and Brazilian (I don’t like this practice and refuse bookings when it is offered), got waxed not sugared (when I asked she curtly told me that hard wax is better than sugaring - better for who? I hate it), had many hairs left and wax blobs left all over. When I asked what I am supposed to do with the sticky mess she squirted some oil on a wax strip and handed it to me and left. I tried to use it to rub the wax blobs off but it had no effect other than making me greasy in the area of the wax blobs. All my hair was pulled in the wrong direction (maybe necessary for waxing I don’t know) and I don’t think a single root was pulled out of my skin. The results, poor as they were, lasted only as long as shaving, and I have been dealing with some of the worst ingrown hair I have ever had since. I will not return as the staff here didn’t care about the quality of service they provided me.

One more point, pound for pound men’s hair removal service is 2-3x more expensive than women’s. This is not a complaint only against this establishment; it’s industry-wide. I don’t really mind. I can afford it. But when I’m being overcharged for a service based on my gender, I expect service commensurate with the dollars spent. Here I was made to feel like I was in the way of their regular clientele.

Queue the owner now saying, “we want to make this right bla bla couldn’t reach you for a follow up. ” You’re not going to find Paul Ruff in your client database it’s not my name. I don’t want to hear back from you and I don’t want to come back no matter what you offer me. Just improve your business and treat everyone like your 5-star reviewing regulars please.
