For some reason, Vancouver hasn't taken to Sugaring the way you'd assume a big city would. In my small hometown in Ontario - Sugaring is the dominant form of hair removal and it's offered everywhere and at a competitive price ($50)

I am glad Bare exists because it's nice to have an option in this area - however, the method which they use to sugar is SO PAINFUL in comparison to how it should be done.

When I get sugared when I go home to Ontario I barely even notice or flinch. Whenever I go to Bare I'm in so much pain during the session. They take bigger sections of hair off in one go to try to speed up the session which hurts and honestly is not even necessary - you can take smaller sections and still get me out of there in 15 minutes. They also for some reason do not apply pressure to the area with their fingers after so the pain just radiates.

If you've never been sugared anywhere else and don't know the difference, it's probably fine - but I dread coming here. I hope you guys see this and realize you could be offering your clients a much better experience!

Went to Bare for the first time today for a Brazilian after having recurring terrible experiences at Stripped Wax Bar on West 4th…and I think I’m going to have to make Bare my new go-to waxing place! My waxing technician was Ranjeetha, and she was fantastic. Super friendly and knowledgeable, she made me feel very welcome and comfortable from the get go and had lots of helpful information regarding after care. And the wax job itself was thorough and flawless. I’m definitely going back!

I have been getting a sugar Brazilian by AnneMarie for almost a year, she’s the absolute best and I recommend her to everyone. However, on August 18th I had to get waxed by another woman because AnneMarie wasn’t available, unfortunately the experience I had with this woman was very very bad. The sugar wax was so hot that it felt like I was being burned, I told her multiple times that the wax was burning me but it never seemed to get cooler. She also had a strange sugaring technique that in all honesty just seemed wrong.

I was nervous about my first wax being 11 weeks postpartum (plus recovering from an emergency c section), but Raj was so kind, gentle and incredibly empathic in making sure I was okay throughout the appointment. I greatly appreciated our conversation about first time mama struggles, and our shared birth experiences. Will be coming back again and again as I felt incredibly cared for.

Friendly staff and very clean. My first time getting sugaring, the girl was so professional and helped keep me distracted from the pain by talking to me about my day and other stuff.

Went for upper lip sugar waxing which is supposed to be for more sensitive skins. The aesthetician was really rough and kept going over the areas multiple times, rubbing really hard with a napkin. I got scar tissue all over my lip area and it lasted a few weeks to disappear. By that time I couldn’t enjoy not having hair

after noticing my co-worker's STUNNING eyes. Her eyes looked so natural but striking after Evelyn's work. I had to try it.

My 1st curl and tint lasted almost 3 month. You can choose other colors than black and Evelyn can mix and match depending on your style. She suggested mixing a bit of blue and it looked much more natural than any mascara I tried, opened my deep set eyes, saved a ton of time and made me look refreshed.

Second time, I went for blue tint and it's even better. I love my eyes and the fact i have more time in the morning to get ready.
I highly recommend trying it to see how it changes your eyes after Evelyn does her magic.

Great, friendly service and an excellent sugaring and wax job from Evelyn! You can tell they take covid precautions very seriously - everyone masked and Evelyn put on a face shield for my lip wax. Left with skin feeling great and smooth. I recently moved away from Vancouver but if I were still living in the area I would definitely go back and would highly recommend to anyone looking for sugaring and/or waxing.

Ladies, anyone needing a Brazilian Tinelle D is your woman. I have been going to get sugaring done with Tinelle for nearly 2 years, she is professional, friendly, and FAST, when I say Fast I mean FAST. I am never on the table longer than 10 mins. Record time was 7 mins. She is super efficient, and clean! The best sugaring/ waxing Queen out there.

Evelyn provides amazing service every time I go. The sugaring is fantastic, I never get any irritation like I used to when I was waxing.

I’ve been getting waxed since I was 18 and Tinelle is by far the best waxer I’ve ever experienced. She was recommended to me by a friend and I now bus half an hour to kits just to get waxed by her. She is super fast, professional and so great to chat to. I love her advice with how to care for my skin post and how to avoid in grown hairs. Never thought I would enjoy getting waxed but she makes it so much easier!

I went to Stripped on 4th for brazilians for years. There were SO many issues. I was at a wits end, so left it a year btwn services. My friend recommended getting sugared by Sharon and I haven't looked back. Like night and day. I've recommended her 5x since I went (6wks ago) and everyone is so happy with her service. I had a Brazilian sugaring from Sharon. She was great. I wasn't sure what type of waxing I should get and she was quickly able to recommend based on my skin type (very fair, easily irritated). The process took about 20 minutes. She talked me through the whole process and made recommendations for proper after care. I felt really comfortable with her right away and I'm very happy with the results! Right now they also have a first time special on for $35. The receptionist was also really friendly. I like that you can book online. The only con was that the room is quite small. It would be nice to have a rack or hook to put your clothes on but thats not a deal breaker. I will be back!

It was my first time getting a Brazilian wax before and the lady made me feel so comfortable. I think her name was Nicole, I'm not sure but I'm very happy I went here! I didn't realize I was so late on the waxing game but now I'm hooked!

Quickest and most affordable Brazilian waxes in the city. Lovely staff. Online booking is a little janky but doesn’t impede on the experience in my opinion.
