Baroness Bubble Tea

Really delicious bubble tea! I got their Thai tea with brown sugar pearls, and I loved that the pearls were really soft- sometimes I find other places have bubbles with starchy middles, but these ones were really fresh and perfectly tender. Very friendly and helpful staff:)

The bubble tea is sooo nice here, the tapioca pearls taste amazing, it’s probably one of the best bubble tea places in town

Thai brown sugar tea tasted great, texture of boba was sweet and chewy. Great service. Thoughtful to have recyclable straws instead of plastic. Also appreciated and enjoyed the fresh taro, taro was a bit overpowered by the milk flavor though. Also wish they offered a lower or 0% sugar and ice option, only goes down to 30% for both which personally was still a bit sweet for me considering there was also lots of brown sugar flavor. The ice also makes it hard to get the rest of the jelly pieces at the bottom since I drink so quickly and the ice hasn't all melted, at least it was small crushed ice. A great product comes from attention to details and willingness to improve based on feedback. Cheers.

The boba was pretty sweet, and the tea is okay… but overall not bad. I think i just got an old batch of boba that was starting to get hard. I also got the thai tea which was yummy but a little too sweet for me

I stopped by here on a hot day with an empty water bottle and the staff was SO helpful and nice. - even though I didn't buy anything (had just eaten lunch). I came back later for what ended up being the BEST iced Thai milk tea with brown sugar boba and oat milk.
Highly recommend, and I love that there are two size options!

Lovely staff and delicious drinks. I loved the earl grey milk tea with grass jelly! We also got the grapefruit aloe drink which was so refreshing!

Always so yummy! Got the passionfruit greentea with coco jelly this time, the toppings are so generous and the tea is so delicate amazing ambience, great service, no wonder this is the best bubble tea spot in vancouver!

Pearls were still too warm when they made the drink, so all the ice melted and it became a lukewarm milk tea.

Disappointing. Staff was rude, insisted on adding ice to my drink even though I didn’t want it. Not authentic, served a very small amount of pearls compared to liquid. Would not recommend.

Small Bbt shop in Kits on Broadway/Mcdonald. It’s name translates to ‘small black sugar. ’ They have brown sugar, milk tea and tea-based drinks and special drinks like purple rice smoothie, matcha latte, taro with milk and a few others. They brew their tea fresh and don’t use powder to make their drinks.

Got the Thai tea with milk. This is a sweeter drink than usual bbt (it has a recommended 0% sugar level, but I chose 50%). Pearls were tasty - soft and chewy. The milder purple rice drink is also good.

Looks like they are usually open everyday but close early at 8pm unfortunately.

A cute little gem shop. Definitely love the brown sugar milk with pearls, very tasty and flavorful. Unfortunately I don't like the services. May try again next time.

The barista was SUPER SWEET and kind and I really appreciate their recommendations on the sweetness level, I LOVED LOVED my tea! Plus, a student discount? ! This is one of my favorite bubble tea places now!

I wouldn't say it struck me all that special. The milk tea that I had was alright, a bit smaller than I expected for what I could get at Coco. The taste was fine- better than Chattime but Coco was still ranked number 1 in my opinion.

It's definitely not a bad place to come back again, and it's quiet and clean- good for chatting.

Pineapple ice tea very good. Being a guy from Richmond, chatime was my go to place, they set the bar high. But this joint even beat them. Taste is a tad better than Chatime.

Tried the Taro + fresh milk, Purple Yam + fresh milk and Wintermelon milk tea. Drinks and brown sugar boba were excellent - flavourful but not too sweet. Just wish you could get a large size in their more popular flavours.

As a self-proclaimed bubble tea connoisseur, I can safely say that the jasmine tea with oat milk is the best I've ever had. And that's saying a lot, because I've had some pretty good jasmine oat milk teas. They nailed the ratio; the jasmine isn't too strong or too weak, and the pearls are amazing. I've been craving another one ever since!

Thai tea was delicious. Milk tea with cheese foam topping was an unusual and delicious combination. Brown sugar milk has no tea but it's liquid comfort food.

The bubbles have amazing consistency and texture, they're so fresh! They also let you adjust the sugar and ice levels for some of the drinks which is great.

Everything we got from here was awesome. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu. I highly recommend the brown sugar with pearls.

Hands down the best boba place in Van! Prices are on point (+ STUDENT DISCOUNT), fyi, Wed is the double-stamp day. The winter melon/lemon tea w/ taro balls is my all time fave!

I ordered a large Thai milk tea and my friend got a medium brown sugar milk tea. Really good but also really sweet, I got 30% sugar and that was enough for me. The tapioca was definitely the best part.

Delicious pearls and excellent pricing, one of the best deals in Vancouver for the quality that you get. Good drink selection and great service! Inside is small though, especially with covid measures—so don’t count on being able to sit in and study or something.

Decided to try the winter melon tea with grass jelly, pretty refreshing and decent pricing! 30% less ice is still pretty sweet, would go for more ice next time

The milk tea for me is average but what makes it 5* is the price.:) Taste is 4*. But Id give it 5* because in an expensive place like Vancouver, we also need affordable choices.

Normally I don't like pure liquid bubble teas (I prefer slush), but this place surprised me! I got the Thai Tea with milk, and it was amazing!

Their Taro Oat Milk is THE BEST. It’s truly my favourite Bubble Tea shop in Vancouver (and believe me, there are A LOT of them). The service is awesome and all their staff are friendly and helpful. 100% recommend to anyone and everyone?

I loved this place! This was my first time having proper boba and it was delicious! I came on June 11th with my cousin and let me tell you, I was impressed! I got the Brown Sugar boba with milk with 70% sugar and 30% ice. As I took my first sip, I was like "god damn, this is bussin' big time! " I rate this boba spot 5/5 stars! I would reccomend this place for the local neighborhood and travelers (in the future.)

Hands down, best bubble tea in Vancouver. My favourite is the peach oolong milk tea with brown sugar coated pearls. I get it half (50%) sweet, which is perfect, because you can still taste the peach flavour, without it being bland or overpoweringly sweet.

The pearls are soft and chewy throughout, there is a perfect balance of pearls to tea, the pearls are warm and fresh, and that brown sugar sauce is a delicious bonus!

Everyone should go check out the wonderful tea this little shop has to offer!

Staff is polite and helpful. Most drinks can be substituted with oat milk. I am obsessed with the Purple Rice Smoothie w/ oat milk. Yum!

Easily the best bubble tea or thai tea place around. So consistent, and they have oat milk. I find their boba is always perfect texture and taste.also their staff are all super nice.

I like their Taro oat milk drinks, very tasty! A little sweet at 75% so I might try 50% next time.

Their pudding is very light and the Taro balls were chewy. Too bad they don't have larger sizes! I am not a fan of the small ice in their drinks.

The Brown Sugar Oat Milk was really good, and surprisingly not too sweet. I ordered half sweet (as recommended by the staff), but didn’t sacrifice the pearls for once. My lactose intolerant body also thanks them for the deliciously thick oat milk. The brown sugar pearls had such a perfectly chewy texture. My favourite bubble tea place for brown sugar milk thus far.

Lychee Paradise (blue) was a refreshing lemon-y drink with coconut jelly. Definitely for people that like sour drinks, which I personally enjoy. I didn't taste much lychee though. I can definitely taste the subtle bitterness of tea afterwards, which was good (doesn't just taste like syrup water).

Grapefruit Aloe Citrus Green Tea (red) was also on the lemon-y side as well, paired with the tartness of the grapefruit. Aloe provides a great texture to the drink.

All drinks were good at HALF sweet.

I've long searched for a place in Vancouver where the bubble tea is as good as in Taipei. This is it! Can't wait to come back for the best pearls in Canada

Definitely try this place, it has the best bubble tea!
I ordered their taro drink with less ice and 50% sugar. It was creamy, they were generous with the fresh taro paste, and it was easy to mix (unlike other places where it just sticks to the sides of the cup).
The pearls were soft, smooth, and chewy, but not sticky. I'm big on texture and they perfected it, so I naturally cherished every single one of them.
To top it off, their service was fast and friendly:)

I was gifted a Thai milk tea DIY bbt set by my friend but I didn’t have time to make it over the weekend and left it in my fridge.

So I msg Baroness via Instagram and the staff was super friendly and offer to help me swap the brown sugar sauce and the Thai milk tea.

I went into the store today and felt very safe. Everyone wore masks and there was coverings.

I tried the following drinks: (half ice half sweet)

1. Taro Oat Milk
2. Brown Sugar with oat milk pearls
3. Milo Brown sugar with oat milk with pearls

The pearls and the oat milk tasted amazing!

I really enjoyed the consistency of the pearls and the sweetness was just well balanced with the oat milk.

The taro is fresh and with a little bit of ice was just perfect!

I really enjoyed the pearls! I think the brown sugar is really their signature and I think I will have to visit again!

Also, they are available on numerous food delivery services!

And not to mention, they have a stamp card so I will be sure to collect and be a returning customer! (Buy 10 get 1 free)

Out of many brown sugar BBT places in Vancouver, Baroness is definitely one of my favorites. I really love the Thai Milk Tea with pearls. The pearls are so soft and flavorful. This makes me want to come more often.

The staff are very friendly. The atmosphere in there is very cozy which I also love about the place. I highly recommend it, especially the Thai Milk Tea

Just love them. The owner is so friendly and makes good recommendations. I ordered Thai milk tea with oat milk w/ pearls and she suggested to do 0% sugar or 30% sugar because the pearls are already sweet on its own. So i went for 30% and it was just right for me! She even said she could adjust it again if 30 was too sweet. Top notch service for a bbt shop!

The four season green milk tea is so fragrant and the tea flavour is strong. The staff is very nice.

Excellent pearls and love that they have lactose options for those who can’t have dairy. I would suggest decreasing the sugar levels as the pearls are cooked in brown sugar so it’s super sweet if you get 100% sugar. Staff are friendly. A little pricey for the size.

Been here several times and I must say their quality is very consistence. Had their Oatmilk brown sugar. The brown sugar taste is not too overwhelming, perfectly blends with the oat milk. The brown sugar pearls are made just the way i like it, soft and chewy. My daughters loves this place. Just wish they had a location in Richmond

Addicted to Baroness Bubble Tea - Amazing drink, trendy vibe & excellent service

Baroness is probably the BEST bubble tea in town. I've tried many other branded/franchised bubble tea yet none of them can compete with Baroness' unique favors at the same time satisfying my taste buds.

You get what you pay for - their drinks are slightly expensive than other boutique bubble tea shops. So if you're the type of person who are not willing to pay $2-3 more for a high-end bubble tea drink, don't go to Baroness. If you do, I'm sure you will agree with me.

Their signature bubble tea with OAKMILK is a MUST TRY.

I normally am too lazy to give review, but the friendly staffs really deserve a tHumb up. Had the Taro Milk and it tastes like real taro, unlike the ordinary powdery ones i have had.

TLDR: Surprisingly, one of the best bubble teas i’ve ever had.

Had the thai milk tea with pearls and the flavors were all there. Not too sweet, not too bland. Pearls are super chewy and soft. Some of the best if not the best pearls I’ve ever had.

Specialty drinks are a bit smaller than normal and in line with the whole industry trend of smaller, more premium expensive drinks. Still, at least pearls are included in the price!

Owners were also super attentive and really outgoing.

Recommend 100%!

Baroness has the best bb tea in town! Not only it has the best pearls (just like what I had at Taiwan), it has so many interesting flavours too.friendly customer service, cozy place if you want to stay in with friends or just simply grab and go.highly recommend it! They are also selling reusable cup sand straws. All profits will go to a charity.

The pearls they make here are very good, much better than other chain bubble tea stores like Coco, chatime, sharetea or yi fang. I tried the osmanthus oolong milk tea and really enjoyed it.

Best bubble tea I have had in Vancouver! Pearls had good texture with authentic taste of brown sugar which I have never had anywhere else. Friendly staffs who gave good recommendations. Will definitely come back for more!

My to-go place for milk tea! The black sugar pearls are chewy and perfectly cooked, yet it's on the more sweet side (due to the black sugar). So if you are not a sweet person, I recommend you to cut off the amount of sugar in ur bubble tea. The grass jelly is also really tasty! I tried four season green tea & osmanthus oolong milk tea, both can actually taste the tea.
BTW, the staffs are super friendly. The little shop itself is also pretty cozy.

This is a very neat cozy place by the corner of West Broadway and Macdonald St. We tried their Taro with oat milk (which was made with fresh taros), and Thai milk tea (the sweetness was just perfect) today and will definitely come back to try out their other very reasonably priced items on the menu.

WOW! I'm so happy that Baroness exists and I'm so lucky that its a short walk from my house! Their quality is top notch - they brew their tea fresh (no powder business) and the flavors they offer include your traditional favorite but also ones that are so unique. They are on the pricier side in my opinion but honestly so worth because you're definitely paying for quality that you won't regret.

My boyfriend and I shared a regular drink of their Black Sugar Oat Milk bubble tea! I'm SO impressed at how they made oat milk work so well in their drinks. Like how can you say no to such a delicious milk tea and the perk is that if you're lactose sensitive, you will have no problems after drinking this! If you don't like things too sweet, I highly recommend you get 30% sweetness on this drink because it worked great for me. The oat milk adds such a fantastic flavor to milk tea - this drink reminded me of the brown vita soy (malt soy drink) : D You won't be disappointed!

Been here a few times now and the service and quality has always been top notch. Their pearls are my absolute favourite in the city. Perfect texture and sweetness. Their uji matcha latte and thai milk tea were delicious. I substituted both with oat milk which made them so creamy. Excited to go back and try their other flavours.

Really impressed with this bbt place. Atmosphere was clean and relaxing, staff are very friendly. We got the fresh taro oat milk and purple yam milk with brown sugar pearls - they taste super fresh and high quality. If you add brown sugar pearls and don't like drinks too sweet, 30-50% sweetness is more than enough.

Yes, the prices are on the higher end, but their superior quality and service really sets them apart, especially compared to other places that have come from Taiwan. If they take reusable bbt jars, I would definitely be a consistent regular.
