The friendliest ferry service ever, “There and back again! ” Friendly traffic control man, to the delightful service of the cashier lady in the restaurant, every interaction was filled with genuine kindness and hospitality. This exceptional level of friendliness truly made the ferry journey an enjoyable experience. Kudos to the entire team for creating such a welcoming atmosphere!
The staff are very friendly and very helpful they always seem to have a smile on their face it's it's even a pleasure to get on their ferry and all they take really good care of it they take good care of the grounds yeah I highly recommend it it's worth the trip if you've never been up there get up there and take that boat it's beautiful you go from sultry Bay and unbelievable highly recommended recommended
Breathtaking sailing, I don’t like the zig zag highway, way to far it feels the end of the world. Heaven forbidding you have an emergency, way out of civilization.
Typical coastal small town ferry terminal. Sadly, there's not a lot of infrastructure here to keep you entertained if you *just* miss the ferry. Luckily, Powell River is a hidden gem of a town, and if you're able to turn around to head into town (and have time to burn), you've got things to do.
I understand this comes with living on bc coast. There service is ok and they are usually on time when the weather cooperates. In my mind it is part of the highway system and should be free but not totally over priced
The terminal offers a picturesque view of the ocean while you wait for the ferry. The washrooms are usually clean and in good order. There is a greenspace to take your dog on-leash and wait outside. You must pay to take the ferry from this terminal, but return is free. Overall a great terminal for its size!
I love the route with the BC ferries. It is just so beautiful and peaceful. A 50 minute crossing. Earls Cove terminal is in such a beautiful spot. There is a great little restaurant with the best grilled cheese sandwich ever! Unfortunately, not enough business to stay open year round though: (
Look, it is a ferry terminal. Nobody is going to go there unless they are on their way somewhere else. But for a parking lot the view is pretty phenominal.
This ferry is a 45 min.run to Earl's Cove, which you pay on this run. They have washrooms and a pop machine, there is no food outlet so you'll have to wait until you are on the ferry to eat, however weather permitting the view is spectacular.
The ferry was on time and did not require a reservation. However they do not accept debit cards. Cash or credit cards only. This was very surprising to me in 2019. I can imagine this is confusing and distressing to many travellers who would have to turn around to try to find an ATM and possibly miss the ferry.
Loved the experience of B. C. Ferries as I do live on the sunshine coast and use rhe service quite often. The staff are friendly and always there when needed and there to help when needed.
Overpriced food overcharged to get on, rude people that provide service, elevators stopped working so was stuck upstairs with a friend in a wheelchair till issue was fixed.
It would be nice if there was more services around here, like a restaurant or convenience store, but it's kinda quite around here. Oh yeah in summer they have little businesses that set up shop here. And they get me across the water, which is always a bonus.
Oct 12/2018. We are doing the Sunshine Coast road trip from Powell River and back to Horseshoe Bay. Saltery Bay is one of the three ferries we need to catch. We won’t be going directly but with numerous stops along the way. Given there is no other way I’m happy to take the ferry, clean environment, good service. Cant beat the scenery along the way. The terminal even has a banana tree. Doubt any fruit will grow off it because it’s hot not/humid enough to produce fruit. What else can we ask for. Without the ferry how else are we going to go from Point A to B.
