Fantastic museum focused on forestry through the ages and many other industries and ways of life in the days of yesteryear. Very cool spot for everyone all ages! Was a bit pricey but I would say worth it!

Had not been on the train ride since my son's were young, over 15 years ago. The 14 million Christmas lights strung along the train ride was amazing, trees were lit, equipment, bushes and structures. My wife and I made this past Saturday, a date nite on the train. Thanks for all the happy memories, now and then. See you next season.

We stopped here as a small fun weekend trip and it was tons of fun! Our ticket ended up being on the wrong day but they still managed to squeeze us in! We went here for the Christmas train ride and it was a lot of fun. They said there was over half a million lights total spread around the track. There was even a part where the train went over the nearby lake and it was a great view of the town. There was lots to do other than go on the train such as multiple campfires, crafts, and concession. We will definitely be going here again!

What a great place to take the family. Learn about the BC logging and forestry industry. Ride the rails. On this trip they had arts, crafts and activities for children. Fun for the whole family. Special family events held throughout the year. Halloween and Christmas train.

Great experience. Hope there were more staff during holiday events so all the trails can stay open.

Great place to take children for an adventure or that cutie you just met on a first date as the grounds are fun to walk around in and you can have nice conversations. Plenty of learning opportunities.

My rating is based on the fact that this place seemed GREAT for kids, not so much for two childless adults who love museums. A lot of it was kid focused and lots of activities for the kids. My boyfriend also loved his time looking at all the machines and tools. As a woman, I didn't really understand most of it but that's more of a me thing

Halloween train was fantastic. Lots of activities and haunted house. My toddler loved the music being played. All in all a great night for the whole family

Went to the Halloween train tonight, in the past we have never had to have reservations. My 2 little boys and myself showed up very excited ti be turned away because we did not have reservations. I would have not minded to make reservations, if we had know. It was not posted anywhere that I could see. Myself and 2 little boys where treated very rude by the admissions clerk expressing that they are booked solid for the whole rest of the season and not likely to to get in at all.
I asked if we could at least look around at the displays and we where told “ No, absolutely not”.
Needless to say I left with 2 crying little boys.
Pretty funny saying you are booked solid for the rest of the season. We will see you tomorrow night, and yes we made reservations.

Such an awesome experience! We came to visit a little too late and didn't give ourselves enough time! There was so much to see and so much more to learn. Best part of this visit was that they are pet friendly! We took our adventure cats and both enjoyed themselves. Exposed them to the train ride and did amazingly well! Definitely a must visit and give yourself tons of time! Thank you!

Propaganda from the for-profit logging industry about how logging is great pretending to be a learning center. They conveniently ignore the science that discredits their methods as well as the violence, both historically and contemporaneously indigenous communities. I sincerely wish I hadn't given them my money and hope the Royal Museum BC discontinues their partnership with this organization.

The "Forest Museum" as my family calls it, has been a pillar in our community for years. My children have often shared positive memories of riding the Christmas/Halloween train or playing on the grounds in the summer. A big shout out to the organizers and staff who keep this facility operational and fun.

Love this place! My toddler had a blast. They have games to play outside with the family, a beautiful playground that's well kept and looks pretty new. Wasn't overly expensive and I love that you don't have a time frame of how long you can stay. Perfect place to go spend the day, bring a picnic and let the kids run around.

Fun place to visit with children. Our kids loved the train ride and wandering around looking at the buildings and the big logging equipment. Fun way to spend an afternoon.

Discovered this place when we were driving up to Nanaimo. The boys loved the train ride and seeing all the old logging equipment and trucks as their grandpa used to be a logger. Great little museum explaining the history.
