Applying for building permits for renovations is complex and frightening in that an unexpected surprise could easily exceed the estimated costs of the whole project. After struggling with this process for previous renovations, I was excited to find BC Home Drafting’s website and working with Simon and his team has exceeded my expectations in terms of professionalism, knowledge and creativity. Simon spent over an hour with me on my first call discussing all aspects of my project and was able to identify all issues brought up by the building inspector in advance. Simon has been extremely helpful in finding simple low cost solutions to meet code requirements (like using pavers to build up the landing to avoid having to demolish and rebuild a set of concrete stairs). The permit process took some time, but Simon diligently followed up and was bang on with his estimates. Simon was also able to provide great referrals for specific contractors. I would highly recommend Simon to anyone looking to conduct any significant renovation. His very reasonable costs are more than worth it for the added peace of mind alone.
