It's such a super cute store, and the ladies were so nice! Today's treasures: a windbreaker and volleyball shoes! For only $17.00 total!? Very Grateful! Ty ️

Hidden gem. The staff curate the space beautifully. They have a fun clothing vintage section and lots of furniture downstairs. Ive found some nice furniture pieces here. They also can provide delivery at an extra cost.
29 January 2023 7:25
Prices are kinda high on some things, but for the things im after, they are pretty reasonable. They have a new charity room where more worn items or necessities for the needy are free. This was a huge improvement to the high priced vintage type items. It adds a nice offset balance. Sale days however are absolutely great! Half off everything when they do it! Woo

Chill vibes. Good music and nice lighting (looking at you value village). Good finds and fair value for items.

This is one of the best thrift stores in Vancouver! I always find something I love when I come! Perfect for clothes/shoes etc but also has a great selection of furniture in the basement
25 May 2022 3:19
It is bigger on the inside than you think, Lots of inventory that is reasonably priced. Friendly staff as well.
24 April 2022 17:23
Prices like it is an antique store with lots of items unpriced and based on the mood of the employee that day. After today no longer going here. They are super proud of how clean it is and organized now though, which is hilarious seeing as basic cleanliness and organizing is expected in a store but having now done it makes all the items worth more. Yes the cat urine smell definitely made items worth less. Value Village has better prices and no need to guess what an items might be also guess what it is always clean and organized too. I see items that I could buy for less on Craigslist, they seem to think ebay is the way to price items. They don't seem to understand a seller on there has to add in fees, packaging and shipping etc and also they ship worldwide but hey let's sell a rattan table for items we see on there for the same or use an Auction site like 1st dibs to say our items are worth this. Lmao.

Amazing transformation and lovingly curated space. A pretty wide selection of household goods to go with the selection of clothes. Great prices all around.
08 February 2022 10:48
As a recent employee of this store i have seen the layout and curatorial touches transform significantly.what was once a seek hard and destroy environment has become a shopper's delight.logical and fun layout with many treasures to be found.i commend the staff who have transformed this store in what has quickly become vancouver's best kept secret.did i mention the #20 bus stops right at its door? Ample parking too.

I think the people that run this place are greedy. The prices are way too high for a thrift store and for donated stuff! It looks more organized now but they use all the good stuff for decoration and not for sale.there was 3 Christmas trees in store and not one price on either of them. I would have loved to purchase one, although I'm sure it would be more than one from Walmart or another wasteful billion dollar big box store. I missed the furniture 50% off furniture sale by 2 days and wanted a couch there with the discount. I could understand keeping that policy in a major store chain but on a high priced item when you have a whole basement of furniture? Really disappointing. I really just wanted a couch so I could have my mom and friends over during Christmas time. After leaving a bad situation I have no furniture and finally saved enough to get that one. I probably wont be celebrating this year now. This is for the spca and I love animals but please hold some compassion for humans as well and cut them a deal or break once in awhile. I won't be back.

This is my favourite thrift store! The staff are friendly and the store is organized really well. I really like how they merchandise, looks great!
23 November 2021 9:28
Some good finds, and I liked the way things were set up in the store - it made it more fun to browse! Wish it was accessible though - the smaller aisles and the shelves with tables in front can't be reached by anyone in a chair or walker, and there's no access to the books or furniture downstairs if you can't do stairs. Happy with what I got, though!
29 May 2021 23:58
The manger and assistant delivered a table today. They were both so obliging and helpful in getting it along a narrow path. Thanks to you both.
26 March 2021 19:32
The B. C. S. P. C. A helps so many animals in need. Deeds worthy of your support.
Unlike V. V.which has become an overpriced and profit driven superstore. I avoid V. V.

Don't touch the long hook for reaching clothes from up high because the hipster man with the nail pollish will yell at you! Other than that nice place, cute kitty!
25 December 2020 11:34
Quite disorganized, no clear direction as to where men's and women's clothing is and where to find other items. Back room littered with garbage bags full of unsorted donations. Would like to have supported them but no luck this time. I hope they are able to reorganize soon.
18 December 2020 3:46
Not the biggest or most organized thrift store, but still a pretty good selection and a good price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They price items at the checkout, but it’s cheap and they might give you a deal! Plus a super cute and friendly cat lives here - 5 stars for Charlie!
(Only negative: I don’t think they test the electronics. We bought an HDMI cable but it didn’t work when we got home.)
08 December 2020 6:25
Cheap thrift store, I can always find good stuff here. I don't remember the last day I didn't walk out with anything here. Plus the funds are going to a great cause.
25 April 2020 9:01
Depending on who is working, you can you a miserable person one day and an easy going person another day.
Bought an item for the the right price one day with the easy going person. Next day. Same item. Miserable.jacks up the pricesperson.
14 March 2020 17:20
I wanted to donate a really nice expensive couch and the girl just working gave me the wrong email address to contact the owner and then hung up on me. What in the actual kind of world is that an appropriate way to treat people. If the owner is reading this you need to take a look at the way employees are treating people. I love animals and wanted to donate instead of selling it. Clearly I came to the wrong place.

I moved to the area and was excited there was a thrift store down the block. I got off work at 5 and decided to walk there from Fraser St and arrived around 530 (they close at 6) I was greeted with “we’re closing right now” I replied with “online says 6PM” the woman responds with “were not making money today that’s why” a simple hello followed by perhaps an option of a few mins to shop would’ve been nice. I just left as I felt like an inconvenience. Second time I made sure to come earlier, again not greeted nor even eye contact from employees, then I immediately noticed not a single thing had a price tag on it which was super annoying and I know it’s a thrift store but im grossed out by a weird smell. After walking around I notice the cats running around along with a bowl of food and water next to the clothing racks with sprinkles of cat food in the aisles. Complete turn off. I went there this week because I’m looking to thrift a small shelf for my apartment. Again, not greeted so I guess that’s the vibe, no idea where the furniture is in the store and all 3 employees were hanging out on the couches oggling over clothing and having a mini fashion show. At first when I walked in I thought these were customers until I recognized the woman from my first encounter. Again, I just left. No customer service, smelly dusty dirty feeling, useless employees, waste of time. I will not bother with this place ever again

This place has a decent collection of treasures, but the store is highly disorganized with half open garbage bags everywhere. A bit of a safety hazard. I went in a couple of months ago and and the gentleman working at the time was nice to deal with. Today, not so much. There’s a woman with long dark hair who I believe runs the place, she was loud, rude, projected her voice and made everyone know how she was feeling. Almost like she was upset that there were customers in the store! She was completely unhelpful, all round bad vibe. This store is a much different vibe from the other great SPCA thrift stores around the lower mainland, it’s truly unfortunate. The best part of this place is the resident Cat. I vote two stars for him!
09 October 2019 1:37
I am an experienced volunteer and went today to put my resume' in. I looked around the store and was not impressed.no prices.grabbed a skirt and a scarf and a cat little scoop.the girl told me $20.00 They can keep their stuff. Will never go back.forgot to grab my resume'. I certainly don't want to volunteer there.

Pretty much everything that looks cool is “not for sale” because it’s “store decor”. Pretty sure that’s not how thrift stores are supposed to work. One staff member has a friendly vibe while the other woman seems unfriendly, preoccupied and overly high strung. Signs indicating that things are “not for sale/don’t ask/stop asking” are offensive and rude.
27 August 2019 1:32
This used to be the best thift store in the city but they lost the manager/boss/cool guy Greg. Now its got a bad vibe and it seems like half the shop "isn't for sale. " more focus on making it a coll hangout for the staff then making money for the animals. It's also way too over priced. Not the same. Only give it two stars for the animals.
19 August 2019 1:11
Always cool treasures here. There’s a woman that works here (brunette, tattoos), very sweet and always well put together and fashionable. I think I have a huge crush on her
18 August 2019 18:46
I have to be honest with the community. I had a negative experience here with the two staff. They are unfriendly and very impatient, and I believe I've witnessed them profiling people based on their appearance to figure out how much they can charge people. I believe that is called racism. I would not recommend shopping here. VV is up the hill.
17 July 2019 3:52
The store looked pretty disorganized and packed really full without much walking room. Most of it looked like junk. Alot of items didnt have price tags anywhere. The 2 front girls looked pretty uninterested in the customers. Didnt notice me trying to maneuver around the huge dog right in front of them. The dog seemed pretty spooked when I tried to move around it. Not sure how comfortable the public feels about a large dog in the doorway that doesnt move for you and the employees dont bother to call it out of the way. I think that's an accident waiting to happen with a large dog underfoot like that. I love animals and have my own but I felt uncomfortable
10 July 2019 13:31
The branch in Richmond is truly a thrift store with great prices, but this one not so much, seems on par with VV. A lady was trying to bargain for a pair of Levi's jeans, and was given a final price of $20. Doesn't seem like much of a bargain to me.
05 June 2019 10:36
Cute cat and a gentle giant dog roams around the place so please be aware if you have any animal allergies: p I bought quite a lot of items here and overall a great experience
My mom enjoys her first thrift shopping here: D
01 June 2019 2:56
I don't recommend shopping here and I've heard that they get paid under the table which is tax evasion
17 May 2019 14:41
I LOVE shopping here - it's a great thrift store to browse. The vibe is fun and the selection is interesting. The prices can be a bit high but I don't mind, I get that it's a charity. BUT it is an awful place to donate and there is a very unkind and unpleasant staff person who works there, as others have mentioned. I have seen her reaction to donations by witnessing other customers donating as well as by donating things myself. Save your time and donate elsewhere. She is rude and annoyed by people donating, which is an odd attitude for a store that relies on donations. She is very hostile and made me feel very unwelcome and certainly not appreciated. She won't take it all (even very nice things that just aren't 'in season'), and you'll be left needing to make another stop at a different thrift store to donate it all. This is very annoying particularly if you are on foot like I was. I regret donating to this store the things she did take, and I won't bother again in the future. Overall, I suspect she loves the store and believes in 'the cause' but she seems to hate her customers.
17 May 2019 4:10
I enjoy going here once a month. Used to be quite chaotic, but in the last year they've actually made major improvements on organizing the place, very very noticeable difference, good work! Hopefully a sign of further improvements. In the future it would be cool if they are able to source a steadier stream of items as the stock can sometimes be the same old items.
09 May 2019 6:52
I hate to say anything negative about the SPCA Thrift store but I always get an unprofessional attitude from the employees. I don't know who manages this store, but it's unorganized and chaotic. I feel super uncomfortable shopping here because I genuinely feel that the girls who work here are competitive and a bit defensive; try being more engaged with the customers and maybe have a better attitude? Kindness goes a long way, and the vibe here is very fake and catty. Don't come to work if you're having issues with your mental health!
09 May 2019 2:37
Very inexpensive and deceivingly small from the outside. The interior is a lot larger. They have some items in the staff only area that are interesting like printers.
06 May 2019 16:31
What was a neighbourhood treasure has been ruined by the current staff. They're rude and insulting to the customers. Swearing, insulting people, complaining about having people in the store in general. I feel uncomfortable even talking to them now after the way I've seen them treat others.

This is not a happy place any longer; I used to pop in a couple of times a week, now I'm not interested in going in whatsoever.
26 April 2019 20:58
I've been dropping off good quality items/garments at this thrift store for almost a year now. One woman that works there is a lovely person to deal with. She's efficient, attentive and approachable. But there is another who truly destroys any goodness this location has. She blasts super loud music and swears repeatedly. Often she just walks around the store on the phone complaining about customers while customers are in the store shopping. Today I decided to ask the price on a children's hat, as it looked small enough for my baby niece. She said $10 and when I said ok no thank you then she threw the hat on the ground in front of me. Multiple other patrons were watching in shock.

Will never stick around to buy anything if she's on site. Will continue to donate for the SPCAs sake, truly too bad considering the other woman is so wonderful.
25 April 2019 0:08
These guys are all about money. They don't care one bit about animals. They euthanize healthy young dogs and cats without thinking twice. Chuck, Hunter and Echo. You will hear these names SPCA on all of your locations again and again until you change your policies.
18 April 2019 15:21
Friendly service. The lady stayed open for me even though I cam at the last minute. Found a very nice chair for low price and went home happy.
27 March 2019 1:23
Went here today and they have totaly revamped the place since my last visit! Way more tidy and organised. They burn incense, play good music, have helpful staff and are willing to haggle on what are already reasonable prices!
11 March 2019 3:35
I know some people enjoy the chaos and disorder of a thrift store like this one but the complete lack of pricing is a turn off. I could understand if they had price ranges posted or if they at least posted a general price on things like books but no prices anywhere means that the clerk is going to profile people based on their clothes and other factors.
I personally watched a student ask for prices on a group of items so they could budget their purchases only to be scolded by the clerk, who then asked "what do you want to pay? " Which is an absurd question.
This all came from the same employee that others have complained about for loud music, swearing and yelling.
03 February 2019 10:39
There’s no labels on anything, which you’d think would indicate that bartering would be involved. I get to the counter and start bartering. One of the two staff members says in a condescending tone, “Yeah uh, we set the prices here” I told her, “Yeah well I pay them. ”

If you want to set prices, then set them and put it on a label. Telling me a price at the counter which is based on who knows what + a quick profile of me isn’t “setting prices. ”

Anyways I just left the extra items I was going to buy and only got the one item I really needed.

Oh, then I go home and plug in the phone I bought and it doesn’t work.

Also, the staff kept blasting music at an uncomfortable level when I was in the store. This final point, I’m not sure if it was the two employees working that day or just the store but the place had a really strange vibe to it.

Conclusion: I’m never returning.
17 January 2019 11:32
The absolutely best thrift store with the best staff I’ve found in the city (including George, the cat)! Huge selection of furniture and all kinds of other treasures thanks to the wonderful people donating for a wonderful cause; it is simply a pleasure going there.
