Went to BCAA to get an international drivers license. Booking is not needed, I just walked in and waited for 5 minutes. The whole process is quick, the lady is very very friendly and nice. I saw that there is back parking area, but I parked on street and paid the parking fee.

Bcaa has gotten me keys out of my locked car, jump starts, tows and flat tire fixes.well worth the membership fee.

I would put 5 stars because it's a 5 star except I asked the call taker to add trailer to my premium account and it's still not done. Another call tomorrow and à wait kn hold game again. 5 star product now has a 2 star CS

I do have a premier subscription which includes photos for documents once a year. I came to this branch and was given 2 physical photos, when I asked about digital ones (as government of Canada requires digital photos), I was said that they do not have possibility to give them to me. I’m not sure about which possibility they are talking about, they do have PC and they can easily upload photo to my USB flash drive. When I mentioned it I was said that BCAA doesn’t do it. Now de facto I have 2 physical photos which I don’t need.
Absolutely terrible service and people who cannot upload the photo to usb flash drive from PC.
If they do everything like this I strongly don’t recommend using BCAA services.

I needed help with my condo policy. I met Addy at Bcaa on Cambie. She explained my policy and answered my questions very kindly and patiently. Her service was excellent and beyond my expectation. In last20 years that I had insurance this was the best service ever. I definitely refer my friends and families to her. Thank you Addy.

This BCAA office is impressively spacious, one of the largest I have come across.

The staff members were exceptionally friendly and assisted us in a smooth and efficient manner.

Although I typically handle my BCAA affairs online or over the phone, there are certain transactions that require in-person completion.

Oh, and a delightful perk: they also provide complimentary coffee or hot chocolate to enjoy while waiting.

Worst company put on hold for 30 minutes just to get someone that knows nothing about Strata insurance. I was told someone who specializes will call me back.its been a week. If you want cheap insurance go here but expect service to be substandard.

The counter agents at Cambie St BCAA are great. 5 stars to them.

However the dealing with BCAA headquarters at renewal time is a frustrating experience. We added a new credit card for payment, but the new policy still shows an old expired card. After three calls to BCAA, each time there was an hour wait time for a call back. After explaining to three separate agents that my policy shows an expired credit card, I was reassured that my new card was added and charged. When I logged into my new CC web site, the BCAA charge was indeed there. However the policy BCAA sent me still showed the expired card as payment. I was told that it is a problem with their system. When dealing with thousands of dollars of charges, and being informed in advance by the client that a new credit card will be used, one would think any expired credit card would be immediately removed from the policy and the new card would be shown. This has been the case with every other business we have dealt with. (Amazon, Paypal, Canadian Tire, etc.)
I now have been sent three emails with my renewal policy showing the old expired credit card. The last agent however sent a separate file, "Payment Schedule" which shows the new CC in effect. However, my renewal policy still shows the expired one. When dealing with insurance policies, every little detail is important and nothing should lead to a possible confusion.
This programming error should be cleared up ASAP.

I have really tried to buy into the BCAA product being with them from 2013 onwards. My recent experiences at the Cambie location have made this relationship untenable. Unfortunately the front counter staff rotate frequently, and unless you get an experienced staff member, you end up waiting forever for them to speak to someone on the phone to approve what they are doing. There are frequent hiccups and repeat visits as what they tell you initially turns out to be uninformed. Unless you are renewing your basic ICBC insurance do not recommend. I have elected to end my 10 year relationship with BCAA and have cancelled my membership. Looking forward to building a new long term relationship with a new insurance company.

Edited: Signed up online with Square1 within 15 minutes of returning back to my computer. No wait. No silliness. No unnecessary obstacles. Same price for slightly more coverage with less deductible. Fantastic.

I would actually give 0 to this location if I had the option. My boyfriend and I came in to this location after I got off work in hopes to get our IDP done. The blonde lady who helped me was THE most unhelpful woman I had encountered. I was told there was a "backlog"and yes, I did come an hour before closing (off work at 430), but she was so EXTREMELY unhelpful and I can tell you why.

My sister went to the BCAA at Marine Gateway and got hers done in 15 minutes at 430pm, so I called that location asking if I came around 5, would they be able to help me with it. The gentleman on the phone couldn't promise me this, but to ease my anxiety he offered to call any BCAA of my choice to book an appointment so I could for sure be seen. So, off I go the next day to a location by my work during lunch, and my goodness. The Yaletown staff there were so nice! They offered me coffee, informed me of a photo discount, and I was able to leave in about 10 minutes with 2 IDP's.

For anyone needing any type of BCAA service, I highly recommend Marine Gateway, and Yaletown. The Cambie and Broadway location was my first pick since its on the way home, but out of the 3 locations, this one gave me the worst customer service.

Went there to apply for my International Driving Permit. The service comfort is felt right from the time of entering the place. The lady at the front desk was warm and welcoming, and explained the entire process along with the expected time to complete the process. It took me about an hour and few steps I had to follow to walk out with my permit.

Sadly, the phone hung up, but I wanted to give Lorna a 10 out of 10!
I called from out of province to extend my travel insurance AND LORNA WAS EXCELLENT. She managed to be both a real professional who knew her stuff AND a real sensitive human who even had a sense of humor. Thank you, Lorna!

Talking to all the staff I didn't feel like just a number, the staff were allowed to be themselves and make conversation-it was amazing. We all watch the same films and movies and understand comedy and what is going on in the world; and being able to have those conversations makes these transactions more real. It's what gives the feeling of a small town merchant, that makes you want to come back. So allowing staff to be themselves and have conversations of all sorts is the best practice. I will continue to use your services for my current and future needs.

Home insurance claim. After having some difficulty with the adjuster I asked for a new one. Was told "sure manager will call you back today. " Excellent right? A few hours later the call comes through: " can you tell me a bit about the reason you're asking for a new adjuster. "
East breezy. Start to briefly explain.
"Surprise. It's me your old adjuster. And what you're saying isn't accurate"
Then follows a brief "yes" "no" when I interject with, so am I getting a new adjuster. "Oh don't know. I'll talk to the manager. " Great. Another day wasted trying to get a handle on things with my insurance company.
My home had water pouring from the roof for 48 hours. It's currently unlivable. It's been a month.
What other tricks and surprises could Bcaa have to make this experience more enjoyable.
(Caveat: quoted dialogue is a dramatic representation. Bcaa records all calls in order to serve us better. Maybe they'll release other "surprise" calls in order to serve me better.)
