I recently visited the British Columbia Automobile Association in New Westminster to obtain my International Driver's Permit, and the service I received, especially from Pete, was outstanding. From the moment I walked in, Pete's enthusiasm, politeness, and exceptional helpfulness made the entire process seamless.

Filling out the necessary form and having my picture taken was a breeze, thanks to Pete's efficiency. He had my International Driver's Permit ready in no time, exceeding my expectations. Pete's exceptional customer service skills truly set this location apart.

BCAA auto insurance was of such poor quality with hidden gaps in coverage, I have cancelled my auto policy and subsequently moved my home policy elsewhere. I have also discontinued purchasing travel insurance here as they have proven untrustworthy across the board.

BCAA service quality and standards fall far below their AAA counterpart in the US.

Literally don't bother phoning even if its for a simple question. One of the worst automated systems I have ever encountered. I would love to be writing the review based on service, but I couldn't be served because the phone system is HOT TRASH.

I have just bought home insurance and travel insurance here. My experience is great and BCAA stands a chance next time I need insurance. Probably with car insurance. They can help me with a discount of add-on car insurance coverage such as 2 way collision. 2 people helped me buy insurance here. For newcomers, I highly advise you register online to become a legit BCAA member. BCAA membership enjoy the most out of all benefits that it offers. $89 basic member or an upgraded premium level member is worth the effort. Make sure you do your homework before coming to buy home insurance. For travel insurance, make sure you have all the info of insured persons with depart and arrival time. The line here is pretty long so you have to call to book in advance or just walk in to ask for an appointment. Also, the parking lot are upstair so you have to drive to the rear of the office (5th street) and climb up to park your car and then take the lift to go down to G floor. Overall good experience.

Very helpful staff on the phone for my home insurance quote, easy to make an online appointment and the agent helped explain our entire policy again before our purchase.

There was a woman working at this office 2 weeks ago “training” employees. She was extremely rude and condescending to the new employees. She was aggressive and yelled at an older gentleman who was trying to renew his insurance.

I would hope that people who are considered competent to train new staff would be able to understand how to read a driver’s abstract - she was not able to do so, causing issues for us trying to renew our car insurance.

If you are buying home insurance, skip BCAA. Not only will you get the most expensive premium, you are guaranteed that it will just increase every year. There are so many online options now. These crooks just hope you pay their ransom every year instead of shopping around. Coupled with the most braindead customer service on the planet and you have a losing combination.

I have been there twice in the last 3 months. The one star reviews are true. There were at least 6 staff and 2 customers, yet the wait times were at minimum 1/2 hour. The most recent we tried to book online, but a week's worth of dates were grayed out. We took a chance going in, but they first said they were unable to help us, but we could wait, despite no other customers being in there. We were eventually served, and the representative was very friendly. If this is their on boarding treatment, I'm wondering how service will be when you actually have a claim.
