A great place to walk with amazing views out over the Strait, and hidden gems such as the Moss Lady.
07 January 2024 23:43
It's all about the petting zoo. Tops in all of Victoria. Come for the nature stay for the baby goats!
27 November 2023 21:16
I visited in early November around 5: 30 pm. As darkness fell due to winter, the park became eerie with no lighting. I returned the next morning for exploration, but navigation was challenging, contrary to my expectation of a well-kept environment.

I always love this park; from going to the top of Beacon Hill to lookout over the water to Port Angeles. Or to walk through a beautiful park with Peacocks wandering around. This park will take your breath away. I would highly recommend.
19 November 2023 9:24
This park is so cute. There are flocks of ducks, peacocks, and squirrels that are not afraid of people. They are very friendly and will come over to ask for food. Maybe you are used to eating when you see people. It would be so comfortable to go for a walk in sunny weather. La

Wonderful park! Can’t wait to visit again. Caution: some people don’t have their dogs on a leash despite the rules. One unleashed dog ran up to our leashed dog and startled our rescue dog, and both dogs barked loudly at each other like they were starting to fight. The owner was about 20 yards away during all this. I am sure their dog is good 99% of the time, but our rescue unfortunately is not and brushes with aggressive unleashed dogs doesn’t help. Not cool. Best of luck!

Just winding down from a movie date and the park was the perfect place to do that. Taking a hike, stroll or meander was easy to do. Everything was so close, but it felt like I was far away in a wonderful, hot paradise.
29 August 2023 15:23
Loved the park! Great plants, and the trees are beautiful. We enjoyed the water fowl, Herons, turtle ponds and the kids petty zoo. Thanks for asking about our time.
12 February 2022 17:08
Amazing and beautiful walk. If you like to feed ducks. Do not forgot to bring your bird seed. We saw some peacocks in the park.

Nice place to do some bike ride, I guess. We are in a hurry at the time we are here. Make sure to send more hours to really appreciate the park.
23 January 2022 6:03
Great park near downtown Victoria. Free parking up to 3.5 hours if you visit the park.
You can view the largest totem pole or stroll along the beach.
Public washrooms available at multiple locations.
16 January 2022 19:37
Very nice park with great view to the ocean, great for stargazing when the skies are clear. I saw my first ever shooting star there.:)
11 January 2022 18:00
A good park for spotting stranded ocean freighters, an all-male squad of peacocks, seniors banging in the bushes, seaweed nipping at your toes, dogs climbing dogs to get to dogs, mile zero of Canada's Only Road and totem poles almost as tall as the soft serve cones.
01 January 2022 12:31
Enjoy the walk around beacon that joins on the waterway bring h for a walk he will never how far he walks.

This park is truly amazing!

I went there for the "lady moss" installation, which is very poetic.

I discovered an incredible flora and fauna.
Lovely black squirrels, peacocks, goose.

Landscape is very impressive with lots of différents areas

Warmly recommend for family or solo tours!

Without a doubt the most beautiful park I've walked through.all kinds of wildlife and trees and flowers everywhere.
19 December 2021 18:04
I take my infant son here for walks (light rain or shine) often. I could walk here for hours just admiring the different plants, trees, ponds and not mention the ducks squirrels and peacocks that seem that call the garden home. Just a stones throw away from Cook St Village (if you work up an appetite and want to try some local eats) and Dallas road if you want to breathe in some ocean air with a view. If you're out here, be sure to walk or drive down to the Ogden Point Breakwater for some magnificent up close and personal views of the water and lighthouse. It's breathtaking.
14 December 2021 8:39
It was a really good park and had a really good zoo to bad its not the same anymore and it's NOT SAFE AT NIGHT.
12 December 2021 8:12
Absolutely amazing! Just go, there is many benches to sit down and enjoy the view, everything looks so clean and very well maintained, regardless of winter is a most!
09 December 2021 1:42
BHP is so beautiful! Its been restored back to itself (pre tenting). Thankyou to the leadership that makes this park everyone's favorite place.
05 December 2021 7:13
Absolutely wonderful. Sitting on a hidden bench watching the water, in the sun. Well let us say it was wonderful
02 December 2021 19:00
Absolutely the best park downtown Victoria. Great trails, very nice, spacious landscapes. Wonderful water features/ ponds and lots of trees! You may see wild rare birds such as peacocks and eagles. The petting Zoo (animal zoo) is also very cool! They have baby goats definitely go to beacon-hill park.
15 November 2021 6:07
Beautiful park.
You can spot peacocks a lot here. Good place to have good walk
Beautiful view around the park
10 November 2021 21:46
Good park, lots of things you can do like exercising-walking, jogging, gathering there's playground too and lots of animals.
06 November 2021 18:33
This place is beautiful and it's always nice to walk amongst the peacocks. Sadly, city planners have once again failed to consider that not everyone in this city can get around on a bicycle - I'm not biking from north Saanich to spend 30 minutes in my favourite park. For reasons unknown to me, cars can no longer enter through Quadra, cutting off one of the most useful parking lots. It's been this way for over a year now so I doubt they plan on reversing it. This mirrors the general thought pattern I see in Victoria: always assuming that everyone who lives in "Victoria" lives close enough to bike everywhere, even in the winter I guess. I have always loved this city, but considering the cost of living here and the city planners who are trying as hard as possible to remove cars and have not built any sort of light rail system to replace them, I don't plan on ever moving back here.
06 November 2021 11:22
Beautiful park with lots of trails. If you go to the end, you can find the first mile of the Trans Canada highway as well as a beautiful coast!

Lots of places to enjoy, sit or explore. As you can see from the pictures, sun set is gorgeous
25 October 2021 11:21
An absolutely amazing little oasis of beautiful scenery and local wildlife. The natural gardens are well kept by the local garden society. A place you and your family could spend the entire day exploring or just picnicking. Be sure to check this park out in your next visit.
06 October 2021 9:38
This park was a beautiful experience. Being a nature lover, there was Alot to explore. The plants. The animals.and water features.
06 October 2021 7:05
29 September 2021 4:47
There were so many homeless camps, it made us feel horrible. I couldn't walk or turn down a single path without seeing socially encouraged desperation needles on the ground and public urination.
The grounds were in grate shape though the city workers are top quality the birds were lovely and we even got to see wild peacocks.
28 August 2021 1:46
What a wonderfully quiet and peaceful place this place is! Even with people in it, the tranquility just soaks into one
23 August 2021 4:01
Nice and beautiful park for a picnic with friends and family. Good for walks and first dates:). Lots and lots of spots to hang out. There’s a public washroom as well.
13 August 2021 2:11
Gorgeous park, just the right size for a leisurely stroll. An absolute stop when visiting Victoria. Do your date a favour and pop over for a short walk and talk!
22 June 2021 3:30
Great place for a walk, especially in spring and summer time. There are totem poles, a petting zoo, gardens, bridges, making for a fun experience.
18 June 2021 4:55
Large, picturesque and near the ocean. Tourists really need to take it in. There has been some social engineering by city hall to wreck the experience by making parking and driving harder to accomplish. It's been turned into a social experiment by municipal politicians who use it to store hard-to-house people rather than offer them shelter and social aid.
17 June 2021 7:04
The Best Place and the south side of the Park has Beautiful View of the Ocean and Port Angeles. Like to spend time and Eat my Sandwiches there)
14 June 2021 9:19
It was nice and peaceful, even though it had several tent's in it for us less fortunates, as well as many homes on wheels, me and my hubby set up shop in our RV for a few weeks.very relaxing and quiet!
12 June 2021 12:23
Beacon hill is a great place with many areas to explore. From the turtle pond, moss lady, petting zoo, there’s something for everyone. Quick walk to Dallas road and the ocean. Don’t forget to stop by BEACON HILL DRIVE IN for an ice cream
31 May 2021 20:38
What Victoria city council has let happen to our park is abysmal, just even driving around it is disheartening.
04 May 2021 18:36
Nice to see some of the park areas cleaned up. Tho still many homeless people down there n a number of them pretty rude to people walking thru park: (
03 February 2019 17:05
Park is a great place for all to visit and see! Lots of nature. Playground and pet farm are destinations spots. I'd like to to see it in the dark sometime and see how well lit it is for a romantic walk.
30 January 2019 1:19
What there not to love about this park. It's the full package! Petting zoo, play park, beautiful gardens and music in the band shelter. To boot it's close to the beach!
30 January 2019 0:36
What's not to liker about Beacon Hill park? !? It's the "central park" of Victoria but without the crime ;). Lots to do and it's very well maintained year round. The petting zoo is fantastic and I highly suggest the running of the goats if you can be there for it. Great place to walk with your family.
19 January 2019 9:51
The family loves this park! We are here at least 3 times a week. There is an amazing kids playground with a zip line. There are peacocks. So beautiful
11 January 2019 0:17
Have you ever wanted to walk with Ducks, Geese, Peacocks? No seriously, they will follow you and allow you to come within inches of them.

How about hang off an amazing Sequoia without going to California?

I've never in my 38 years have I ever experienced such beauty. Beacon Hill Park is a must see, any time of the year if you visit Victoria.

Pack a lunch and explore the roughly 150 acres of one of the most peaceful places in Canada.
10 January 2019 13:46
This is a must go to park if you have children or if you just want to go for a nice walk. The park is huge and has so much variety. Located right on the Ocean, you can walk along the path and look across to the mainland Mountains on a clear day. If you walk closer to the centre of the park there is a free kids zoo with lots of animals, open in the spring and summer. All year round there are peacocks walking around the park and hiding in the trees. There is free parking along the West side of the park for 3 hours.
24 December 2018 13:33
A bit pricy for the limited selection available. However, the merchandise they do have is good quality. They still have good old-fashioned personal service which might be worth the higher prices.
01 December 2018 16:20
27 November 2018 12:01
Absolutely beautiful park located in the heart of downtown. There is so much wildlife and beautiful greenery in Beacon Hill Park. It’s a beautiful place for a picnic or a walk and there are a lot of unique little attractions and opportunity for stunning photos throughout.
26 November 2018 17:43
Our version of Central Park. A beautifully serene destination full of exotic and native birds, ducks, turtles etc. A must see for anyone visiting the city/Island!
24 November 2018 18:52
This is a beautiful urban park with manicured beds, rose garden, bandstand, lakes, petting zoo and playgrounds. There are no retailers within the park but ocean views from the top of the hill and a splash water feature for children. Parking is a little limited but it is pedestrian oriented and bile friendly. Well worth a visit.
21 November 2018 19:06
Walk among peacocks, attempt to find the many Blue Heron nests hidden high in the trees. Play park for kids, cricket field, soccer field and many easy trails to walk and contemplate the state of the world.
14 November 2018 18:03
Awesome kids park they loved it. Petting zoo is great for all ages. Beautiful Rose garden.
Just all and all a really good way to spend a day.

Great place to spend the day, you can just go for a walk, see the petting zoo, practice putting on the tiny green, see a movie or concert at the bandstand, see or play cricket, let the kids go to the water park or the playground, have a picnic and you can even geocache!
By the way, Hot House Pizza on Cook st will deliver to you at the park as long as you are at a known and accessible area, like the bandstand or playground. We were at the park's bandstand for an outdoor movie and The awesome staff at Hot House Pizza delivered right to us, talk about an awesome service (and awesome pizza!)
02 November 2018 15:22
Relaxing place to spend an afternoon, and the people you pass really add to the positive feeling. City parks like this add such a positive impact to city life.
18 October 2018 22:39
Amazing place to play Pokemon Go and Ingress. Lots going on here fit geocaching too. The grounds are lovely, and the playgrounds are great for the kids.

They have a petting zoo, and access to the ocean, as well as ponds, running, cycling, cricket. Great for just walking with your sweetheart too.
11 October 2018 15:36
We love this place. It's a huge park with a lot to see and a lot of places where you can escape from the world and meditate yourself to enlightenment, if that's your thing.

Did I mention there are also wild Peacocks roaming about?

There's a little something for the entire family here and we recommend it.
