Jessica, the front desk made sure that our check-in experience was awesome. Additionally, and she came to know that we were there for our anniversary, she had a surprise gift, waiting for us in the room with the chocolate mousse cake and a beautiful card. The rooms are very spacious and amazing. The view is spellbound. The grounds are kept so clean. The conference hall is amazing. The floors are polished. Every little aspect, you can see the attention to detail.
This resort is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and well laid out. Everything is clean and crisp. The views are amazing being on the top of the mountain, with a golf course right at your door step. Fantastic pub right next door with a good menu selection, and a great restaurant for breakfast. This is definately a place to return to.
Had a good stay, bit out of the way but it was a Westin so always a safe bet. Views are amazingly cool. Room and staff are nice.
Only thing was not impressed on was breakfast that was included with my stay cost me $30. My partner and I had one main each and a coffee and tea. The voucher was for $25 a person and nothing at breakfast was under $20. Just be ready for it, if you expect you are getting an included breakfast as a welcome gift. Still a better deal compared to points for elite members.
Would I stay again? Sure. I got an amazing room upgrade, view and food was good. I have ambassador status room was upgraded with out having to ask for a Friday night.
Great Roast beef sandwhich and good coffee. Very nice indoor or outdoor setting. Owner or manager is always right on his game. A new fellow was being trained on my latest visit. I hope he learns quickly and gets a smile going.
One the of most serene and comfortable hotels I've had the pleasure of staying at. Staff (especially Judith) were outstanding when trying to accommodate any questions or concerns I had.
This is such a great resort. I am not a golfer.but the hotel is great value. Restaurants are excellent and the staff are outgoing and helpful. This is not the cheapest hotel in Victoria.but the rooms, services and amenities are worth a bit extra cost for us.
Incredible golf course which gives the unique challenge of having to deal with large elevation changes. A place you must play if you’re visiting the island!
Still sitting on the fence over this review. With COVID-19 the hotel staff did good. The restaurant staff, most need more training which is understandable during these times. Jamie C gave us fabulous service in the Masters Lounge and the following morning we had Jake as our server and he was struggling. We found out at the end of our meal by another guest that 6 people called in sick. Jake did the best of his abilities being the only person and when I thanked him and told him I hoped his day got easier, he again thanked us for our patience. As we walked around to leave, we heard the manager giving him heck for saying something. He hadn't but we saw him running his feet off and appreciated all he did. Kudos to Jamie C & Jake for the great service!
I stay here for work. I'm not a huge fan of cities, so aside from being a bit of a drive, this place is perfect for me. Also, I'm really not a fan of golf (at all), and despite being on a golf course, this place is so much more, and my first choice for Victoria. There's some light cross country bike trails around with bike rentals available, a small mountain to climb, excellent hill training on the road to and from the hotel if you're a runner, hiking trails and the gym is easily the best hotel gym I've ever used. Complete Arsenal of machines and free weights and treadmills that don't slip!
Try the eggs Benedict in the Westin restaurant on the main floor. Best hollandaise size I've tried. It's actually fluffy.
Edit** over a year later I came to give this a 5 star review and found I've already left one. Just wanted to mention again how much I love this place and suggest renting a bike for the trails around the course, and definitely bring a good pair of trail shoes for the Mount Finlayson trail, a very short but totally worth it climb to wake you up in the morning.
My husband purchased a gift card in 2019 as a Christmas gift for me when the spa was under construction. He was told that when the salon re opened we would be able to use the gift card. Fast forward to Sept 2020 when I was able to use the gift card, after having a spa day and trying to use my $300 gift card to pay I was told that the gift card was not redeemable at the spa, I would have to take it to the golf shop. It is now days away from June 2021, with countless emails, calls and even texts to the manager Rob Larocque I am yet to see any form of refund. Extremely disappointed with the resort and management for their inability to resolve this issue.
I love it at Bear Mountain. Both golf courses offer great challenges and are absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, however the price to pay even at local rates is way too rich. Id play much more if they were a little more reasonable with their prices. $130 for twilight is far too high for a local. Nevertheless, I highly recommend a round at Bear Mountain. It's a must see
Frikken gorgeous place to come for a honeymoon or birthday celebration. Was treated so well when we stayed at Bear Mountain westin. We also had to book our time for the hot tub but we ended up staying in there longer than the time we booked. The view is phenomenal. They also have the patio in back for drink and food. Wish we could've stayed longer as I enjoyed every moment there. The pool was shut down due to construction but other than that very enjoying.
The stay was magical as it started snowing when we got there. The room coffee was horrific but the coffee shop came to the rescue. The Shaw system was extremely frustrating to deal with but the bed was extremely comfortable. The Front desk people were amazing as well.
Played golf on the Mountain course and it was beautiful. It’s definitely highly recommend you always take a golf cart. Beautiful views that are def insta worthy so have you phone on you for a few
The Area is very Tranquil I feel going on the mainland getting better value) the Place seems uncertain of what it would like too cater to 3 Dressed as a 9 spend your time elsewhere
Great venue, had Xmas Eve dinner here. The dinner menu was only a 1/5 though. Bisque was amazing, turkey was a roll, and portion was light. (Had to hit MacDonalds on the way home) Dessert was the biggest disappointment. For $400 you can do much better, even during a pandemic. I do have to add that the ambience and service pushed this to a 2.
Expensive but worth it. First class. Mountain Course is tough and not enjoyable for high handicappers. Play the Valley Course - just as beautiful, but more forgiving.
