Bella Pacifica Campground

Absolutely beautiful location. Right on the beach! Sadly management is terrible. Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Manager straight up lied to me said the showers are included, which they are not. He didn’t tell me when checkout was or the fact there was a charge for late checkout. But staff was extremely eager to charge me for late checkout when we where only 45 mins late in the pouring rain with plenty of empty camp site’s available. People are out to lunch and could care less. Also charge for empty guest parking. Really hope someone reads this and changes things because it is a great location, just feels like staff don’t care.

I try to come with my wife every year and have so far over a decade. It is getting crowded these years. Sometimes you get the inconsiderate camper who thinks loud music and partying till 2am around tents. There is supposed to be someone on watch never seen it even the time I was near attacked for it. Apart from that the showers are coin operated which I'm fine with. Makes you be quick especially in drought areas. Beach is at your doorstep. Clean facilities. Gets cold at night due to ocean winds so keep in mind campers.

The good: gorgeous views, close to the beach and most of what Tofino has to offer, if you’re in a self contained unit (and don’t need the bathrooms/showers) then it’s great.
The customer service on the phones is really great, we called 3 times and were met with friendly happy sounding staff each time.

The bad: sites completely lack privacy and are tiny. They’re insanely expensive for what they are, but I guess it’s just a location thing. The showers are expensive, considering you’re paying a lot to stay there. Didn’t see any staff working, keeping an eye on things (two sites were burning real fires during a complete fire ban).

We didn’t have to deal with any of the staff for complaints, so we don’t have an option or review on those interactions.

The meh: close to lil’ Ronnie’s bbq which has live music often. Nice to hear it, but you don’t really get a break from it, as it overpowers everything around. The sites are pretty rustic for the cost.

Had a very good experience with Orion and Georgia in the reception office. They were super helpful and got us sorted out with the most beautiful campsite I’ve ever stayed at! This place is expensive but price is in line with the cost of accommodation in Tofino and it’s so lovely that I definitely think it’s worth it!

Very nice campground with a beautiful view. Only down side, staff not really warming and you need to pay for the showers which i dint understand why…

Camped here in the Spring and Fall for 15 years in the forested sites. Never had any complaints and always enjoyed my stay.

Then they turn it into just another price gouge fest…. More than doubling the rates by extending the their “high season” while increasing the rates overall. Last year it cost me $44 to camp here late Sept-early Oct and the campground was half empty. This year the minimum is $105 for the same dates / same sites. I won’t be returning.

The best thing is, that the campground next to the beach is. I would not recommend this campsite. During our trip in Canada was this the most disappointed campground. Very very expensive for what you get. We have been two families and they were not able to give a space next or close to each other. But there was a the whole stay a space left next to us. The toilet ane showers a very very dirty and old. Tofino is such a nice place but we would stay at an other campside next time.

The two stars are purely for the gorgeous location and how the tent sites are sheltered from each other.
We had expected significantly better washroom and other facilities, and also much better customer service considering we paid the equivalent of a hotel room price for an unserviced tent site. The washrooms were very dated, not clean and unheated, and considering you pay $2 (on top of everything else!) for a two minute warm-ish shower I would expect the water to be hot from the start, and not having to wait for a minute until the water runs hot. When raising this at the office they just shrugged their shoulders and were not interested.
Also, the quiet time at night was not enforced at all, nor was the one vehicle rule per site, which led to us being parked in by another vehicle with a roof top tent in the tent area.

Amazing campground with excellent customer service.
I had to change my reservation dates and Orion was very helpful and accommodating. He took the extra time and went the extra mile to ensure we explored all options.
We have been coming back here for years and always enjoy our stay.

Perfect spot for a campground. Some things to consider: bumpy road, deep holes, not good for your RV. Yes, showers are coin operated but usable, the "holes" are not big and at the bottom, so no worries. Bathrooms were mostly clean.

Okay place for a basic camping.

Sites are fairly small with a lot of neighbours around. Quite costly for the options offered. No electricity, washrooms are so basic and you have to pay additionally.

Location if great.

Top location (one of the two stars for that).
The facility is not in good shape (e.g. Potholes and washrooms). The price is simply too high for the performance.

This cozy little campground has spectacular views and a variety of sections for everyone looking to camp or park there RV. We stayed in the ocean side area, but there's a forestry area as well as a beach side. Every section of this campground has its own little charm. You can't go wrong in any area you choose. Reservations start On October 1st and most spots can picked up right away

Each section of the campground has its own bath house where you can shower and use the restroom. Each shower is a $2 charge for 2 minutes, so bring some toonies. Showers can be hot so be mindful.

The staff seemed pleasant enough for a campground. We weren't expecting the Ritz-Carlton customer service, So we were happy to get what we needed from them when we needed them.

Be sure to support Lil Ronnie's barbecue next door as this is a game changer for your whole trip. Lunch and dinner menus are different so choose wisely.

If the weather is on your side, you will have an incredible time at this campground

Way too expensive in every way. Payed more than 130 Can$ for one night. For a small space. No Electricity needed. Arrived late and could not check price before. Big surprise next morning! And they provide no Dumping station and fresh water!

Camped with my friend there for 3 days we were dealing with TJ. He has been lovely, he worked tirelessly to help us with our reservation and make our family vacation memorable thank you again TJ

Great location with some sites right on the beach with views and steep paths to Mackenzie beach. Sites vary in size, ours was quite small and very close to our neighbours. Our friends had a much larger site and to be fair, we booked very last minute. Prices are high

The best thing about this campground is McKenzie Beach and what it offers.

Our experience for a 10 day stay and booking multiple campsites with family for a milestone anniversary was spoiled by:
1) having to deal with a rude and insulting manager who said it’s not his job to check on things in the campground and accused me of yelling at the staff. (Yes, there are 2 sides to the story)
2) lack of enforcement of policy (dogs barking day and night), (noise in campsites after quiet time). Staff walk and drive around occasionally with their ear buds in consequently, oblivious to what is happening in their campground.
3) lack of effort by staff and management to provide a friendly and welcoming environment and experience which one can hardly wait to come back for again. (No one stopping to ask “Is everything okay? Is there anything we can do to make this a great vacation?) (Using a leaf blower to stir the dust on the pavement so that it can settle on your table and towels hung out to dry)
4) amenities are aged and not well maintained. (Bathrooms not clean, shower stalls co-ed with rotting lumber and holes accessible for peeping Toms)
5) showers cost $2.00 for a short time and water is extremely hot
6) change not available when office not open
7) office closes early so do not expect service after 6: 00 pm
8) campsite prices are what you would expect for a 5 star campground but are rewarded with a 1 - 2 star quality of property and experience.
9) there was an area for recycling and garbage collection which is great, but it was not cleaned often and garbage overflowed the bins.
10) the survey sent after the stay was completed with our concerns and experience, but no one reached out to follow up. (In other words, I wasted my time completing the survey and they do not care)

In our opinion, the staff and management sorely lack training, expertise or desire in running a hospitality based business.

While not our experience, the fact that people who book months in advance and then need to cancel in accordance with cancellation policy are not provided their refunds or have to fight for their refunds should be a huge flag about the management and their business ethics.

We love Tofino and will be back, but based on our experience, we will not be coming back to Bella Pacifica.

It was the must expensive campground I booked during my road-trip and it was the worst! The young lady at the office was not at all friendly, my spot was very small and not at all private! I have to share my place with other people like we were together. (see the pictures: I slept in my van, tents are not mine) I don't recommand this campground at all!

Beach front camping at it's finest. Fully serviced and fine beach sand. The campsite was just beside the beach entrance so it was super busy with traffic but hey we also had easy access. People were fishing for seasoning at dusk and some did well. Sunset was spectacular. Would definitely visit there again.

DO NOT CAMP HERE.
First of all, the staff. Either they don't exist or they are in the worst mode ever when you inform them of one of their many "services" doesn't work. Example the showers. Why are their small holes that show the other showers? I'm here to try and get clean in your scolding hot water not put on a show thank you. If you inform the staff about anything they shrug it off like it's not their job. Management is rather abrasive, hard to have a conversation directly with out hurting someone's feelings. Don't waste your time, you can visit many other amazing sites on this beach and probably at half the price.

This place is awful. Spent a week there, would have canceled but the multiple reviews saying they are illegally using a third party doing returns, yet it takes months. We figured " we had to book a year in advance, how bad could it be".

Reason: I only saw two, one driving around in a truck, and the other girl sweeping the campsites (and blowing dust off the road, causing DIRT to fly over everything. "Why did you do this? ") I heard there was a rude manager who doesn't manage nor does he even know what is happening at the camp grounds.

Bathrooms*
Rate: 3/10
Reason: The bathrooms work, you can use them, wash your hands and you have privacy. How ever they seemed to never be cleaned (even checked after they were closed for cleaning.yikes), The showers have ferocious hot water and peep holes.

Grounds*
Rate: 1/10
Reason: The sites are WAY to small. Camping is not tents anymore, its huge houses on wheels. You need a space to park it and also stretch your legs. The sites are dirty, not maintained, the access to the beach is great, but that's a default setting for that location.

Overall, don't waste your time, there are far better sites out there and it is super sad how the management and or owner have no idea how to talk to each other. The cost has doubled over the last couple of year. BUT its not going back into the site.

Bella Pacifica is currently not processing refunds legally. They won't refund me directly. They say they have a third party responsible for that who they won't tell anyone who that is. I didn't pay this third party for the reservation. I want my hard earned money back!

Overall a pleasant experience. Stayed right on the water which was incredible. I was a little dissapointed in the price of the site, and additionally having to use Tunes to shower. With the price for the campsite itself, I think the shower could atleast be free.

I have been coming to Tofino for many years and staying at bella pacifica for most of my visits. I am writing this review because I am finding it unacceptable that Bella has been raising their prices more and more every year without actually making any improvements.the prices are now comparable to Surf Grove yet the amenities are not even close to the same. With no ability to charge any electronics (unless you want to hide your phone in the laundry room) and having to pay for a 3 minute shower is ridiculous in this day and age. Especially now that they are charging so much more per site you think they would have the money to upgrade. Oh and I almost forgot that they don't even give you the chance to book a specific site.you may end up on a site that you don't like, even if you booked months in advance this will be our last option unless there is nothing else. The only reason that I didn't give 1 star is because we love Mackenzie beach

Prices here have skyrocketed. Well beyond the range of anyone but the wealthy. More expensive than a hotel room in 99% of the country.
I had a really nice camping experience here. The site I was at, was nice and private surrounded by beautiful rainforest, the staff was courteous and helpful. The beach is great and easily accessible by trail.
The wood for sale was pretty wet and didn't burn well, but I guess that's part of the price you pay for staying in such a damp environment. The showers are pay only which sucks but isn't too big of a deal. I would definitely stay here again.
