Best Falafel Commercial Drive

I love the food here, don’t get me wrong. I’ve just noticed that the prices have been hiked severely over the past year, to a point where I think they need to serve larger portions

I paid 12.5 for only a falafel wrap
And it is disappointed (they put the falafel cold inside the wrap) the falafel was cold and not tasty as other places

The Company name may say Best Falafel, but I just had their lamb shawarma, and I must say it definitely is comparable to what I had about a week ago in the nation's capital, which supposedly is among the best in the world. The service at Best Falafel is very good also.

Just ok. The weird part was that the shawarma was served cold with no option given to heat it up. The drive isn't the best for donair spots but I would probably opt to go to Vancouver Donair or Mr Greek instead.

Just ok if there is nothing else to eat (which is never, there is a lot better to eat nearby). Chicken was very dry.

Would not recommend - the beef patty was sent cold, the chicken shawarma lacked flavour, and the lamb plate was dry. When I called to notify the restaurant, no one bothered to reply or return my call. Much better options on the Drive

Been to their other locations. This one is quite spacious and the staff is, as usual, quite friendly. Their portion is good and the flavour is amazing.

Beef samosa + chicken samosa = a high protein lunch that carries me through the day.

Or Tuesday $6.99 wraps. And they really heap on the meat. Portion size is.

My favourite shawarma I’ve had in Vancouver. They have authentic toum and pickled turnip and it’s amazing, love the shawarma plate.

I wouldn't say that that's the best falafel i cant understand why you guys cant make the falafel on spot when someone order just throw it to the f oil 2 min and done then it will be crispy why should i get f wet falafel.that was made before

We had the chicken schwarma plate which was good. It was big so we shared it. Their baklava was very good as well. Some indoor seating. Quick service

I'm a BIG shawarma loverrrr! I tried shawarma at many places and every time I keep coming back to this place coz is my favorite shawarma in the lower mainland so far. I love the flavour of everything they put on it, it never disappoints me! I looove the pickles they give. Their size portion is very generous and they give a whole pita bread. The service is good, I'm often welcome with a big smile. But tbh smile or not, as long as they don't change their recipe I'll be there. Keep it up guys!

Whenever we're looking to grab something on the go and Best Falafel is on our way, we make sure to stop by here. They never disappoint us, their service is awesome, staff friendly and generous. Unlike so many Doner shops who have no idea what they give to people, the quality of food and the way they prepare sandwiches or plates are what suppose to be. Taste, freshness and presentation are number one.

Nicest lady Ive met in a while! I was busking on the other side of the street, across from their buisness, and a worker (perhaps the owner?) came to give me a meat wraped donair.

Great flavors, fresh ingredients, best pickled turnip Ive had in my life too.

Really poor tasting food unfortunately. Ordered a falafel wrap, shawarma wrap and beef samosa. Threw most of it out, too expensive.

Great shawarma plate, big portion. Freshness is a little hit or miss, but always within an acceptable range.

Ordered delivery here, the wrap came soggy.
The chicken was dry and the rice itself was a bit bland.
I was more disappointed that they forgot the pita wrap with my chicken platter, with no bread at home I just threw the humus away.
No cutlery and napkins were provided despite ordering quite a bit of food

The Tabuli was pretty good, and the Jamaican beef patty was really tasty, I would probably come back again just for the patty, however, everything else was a bit disappointing.overall, food was just okay (except for the beef patty which was good) and presentation was very disappointing especially with the missing pita bread and the lack of napkins and cutlery for a pretty decent sized order

Maybe it's nostalgia, but I got a soft spot for this place as it fed me through college. Food is a lot more expensive everywhere these days, but they still give huge portions on their shawarma plate, my go-to. This place isn't fancy, I'm not sure if it's authentic, but it's affordable and healthy. Definitely get the toum/garlic-spread if you've never had it before, always get the tabouleh and those pink pickle things (radish?), and get extra hot sauce. They sell their own yogurt beverages now too.

Theybhave the right name. These are the Best Falafel and shawarmas in Vancouver. Massive portions, good prices, nice guys who run the place.very small informal dining area. Better for takeout, go to the park.

Absolutely disappointing. I walked in the store greeted the guy behind the counter and got no response. I walked closer to the counter, however, this did not help either, since he was so fascinated by his cellphone that he did not pay any attention. I asked if I could place a take out order. He asked plate or wrap? Shortly after a second guy came from the back and even he was polite this visit did not end well. I ordered my chicken falafal and a bottle water, paid $11,50 and planned on walking away with my food.

As soon as I opened the paper, wrapped around the food, everything was falling apart. I sat down, grabbed some cuttlery from inside the store and ate my falafel. The only flavor I could taste, was the hot sauce and nothing else.
Sorry, but can't recommend this business.

Got the vegetarian falafel wrap. Very tasty! I think I added the right sauces and so it isn’t dry at all. I can see how it would be easy for this to be dry if you don’t add enough and the right combination of sauces. Also got the samosa and baklava, haven’t tried those yet!

Yeah so I'm always skeptical of any business who claims to be the best at something - since you can't exactly verify. But the Falafel is definitely very good.

The spot is fantastic and broad, the meals was yummy and the rates were very reasonable.fast, efficient service and very friendly staff. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Vegetarian plate was not good. Falafel tasted mostly like bread with no herbs inside, and wasn’t crunchy. Dolmas taste like it came out of a jar. Only good things were the samosa, hummus and garlic sauce. Really not worth the $14.

Excellent spot to get food when in a rush. The service is rapid, prices are convenient, great character. Keep up the good work

The Flafel wasn't fresh and smelled like burnt oil.

This place caters to the blue collar worker we all have somewhere inside us. Tasty food at a reasonable price prepared and served by some very hard working newcomers to Canada. I find it hard not to drop in if I'm hungry and happen to drive be driving by.ok ok, sometimes I make the trip just to go there.

Quality’s inconsistent unfortunately. Last week I ordered and it was great. Yesterday I ordered again, and it was awful. Chicken shawarma had skin (!) and some parts were undercooked - I had to throw the rest away.

I ordered the chicken shawarma plate and a couple of fried falafel balls. At first I was skeptical because of their name Best Falafel but they definitely live up to it. The falafel was very tasty and not oily at all even though they were fried. The chicken was tender and flavourful, the hummus was smooth and creamy, and the tabouleh salad was bright and fresh. Oh and the dill pickle slices and pickled cabbage were a nice touch. Great value for the price. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

Ordered in dinner from Best Falafel and was not disappointed! I had the lamb Donair and it was so tasty. The lamb was tender and tasty, and went excellent with the sauces and vegetables. Also had a side order of dolmas which were also great. I will definitely be returning to Best Falafel.

Truly Vancouver’s best falafel. No wonder these guys have so many awards. Their ingredient quality and authenticity is incomparable.

I actually don't know how to rate this and have never rated on aroma before. I eas waiting for the bus and if i had more time i would have gone in. The aroma was amazing and I don't eat beef or lamb. I looked back at least 6 times and when i have time I'll go back to try something.

We placed a large take out order for a party we were hosting. Food was all very good and portions were very generous. Great staff as well.

We had a falafel and a lamb wrap; both were quite small and were pretty cold. I would not recommend it and also won't come back.

After eating here, I honestly have to wonder in what universe this is the "best" falafel.

Got the falafel plate. Falafels were not the best. In fact they were below average, and on top of that they weren't fresh. Cold, then microwaved. Instead of serving them on rice, they instead dump half a gallon of the blandest hummus on your plate. I've had far superior middle eastern cuisine from a food truck, and that says a lot. Tabouleh wasn't great either.

Used to be my all time favourite shawarma place (I was obsessed), but they stopped cooking the meat with a gyro and the donair never tasted the same again. However, they have made another location in Kitsilano where they do cook with a gyro and tastes the same as it used to.

Their name is not an exaggeration. The food is delicious. Love coming here while doing laundry down the street.

The worst falafel i have ever had. It seemed like the falafel was old. It was cold and had no texture. It was just a soggy vegetable wrap at best.

I came here yesterday and ordered the chicken shawarma platter to go. It was delicious. What's not to like? Chicken was tasty, and tender; rice was cooked perfectly; salad was good; hummus and pita bread were filling; sauce was yummy. Customer service was friendly. I will be back!

I dont know what happened to this place! Used to be great, but now they seem to premake then microwave their falafel, and they took the shawarma off the spit! It goes through a weird oven now. Quality has definitely gone WAY downhill. Really disappointing. Portion sizes are pretty small as well. Used to be the best on the drive, now i avoid it like the plague.

Used to be the best now its almost the worst. The meat is very very salty and isn't even prepared on a gyro, it's pre-cooked and slopped into a holding pan. Do I really want to eat the bottom dredges of meat sitting for seven hours, NOPE! Too many times to count the pita bread is stale and they go chintzy on the toppings. Maybe instead of opening another location they should concentrate on doing what made them "best". Save your time and money, it's expensive for the little you get and try somewhere else.

Very tasty, good, authentic middle eastern flavors, very filling for a fair price. Everything was super fresh, the salad, tabule, hummus was SUPER delicious. The pita though was kind of a disappointment since it wasnt fresh, it could at least be premade pita and they could heat it up in a pan. Everything else was great, i recommend this place!

An all around solid place to go for a good shwarma plate or donair.the place keeps good hours and always delivers a good fast meal that never gets you sick.win!

The staff were very friendly, and the only reason I was here was because it was pretty late. Most donair / shawarma places are closed at 11pm. I'm not disappointed with my lamb donair. I'd come back here again, but the parking may be an issue in the daytime. If you don't mind paying a few bucks for delivery, yeah it's not a bad option with all the food delivery apps out there.

Okay, let me preface this by saying that I have been a regular customer of Best Falafel since 2003, have recommended them to numerous friends, and have always, always thought that they had the best Chicken Shawarma anywhere, hands down. Imagine my shock when I was told that they got rid of the standard rotisseries, where you used to be able to get those fantastically burnt-y yet moist chunks of chicken, and now have some sort of weird convection oven going on.

I put my doubts aside, and tried it for the first time last night. So, so very disappointed! What the hell happened? Gone is the flavourful, mouthwatering chicken that I used to crave weekly. Instead, it is just a pale parody of what it used to be. No burnt-y pieces, flavour profile is not the same, texture is off.

Please, please, please, bring back the rotisseries! I simply cannot fathom the change, nor can I come back an order what used to be my favourite food. I am so sad. Crushed really.

Never can go wrong ordering here if you use skip the dishes always throw it in the oven for 10 mins and its really good still
