Best Western Plus Gateway To The Falls

The room was perfect. It was modern, spacious and clean.

The breakfast was an absolute disaster. Disposable tableware. The plastic cups are still wrapped in plastic wrap. Just because you're too comfortable to wash up? ! The bread selection was also modest.

You have to make a clear distinction: rooms, facilities, location, parking space - good to very good!

Prices: adjusted to the almost endless stream of tourists, but okay.

But breakfast: Phew, as described in some other reviews, Best Western probably thought about environmental protection: Nope, really not bothered at all.
It's clear that they're not alone in this, but how can you build a new hotel these days and then ignore the topic like that? A pity.

Fun Fact: Bacon is harder than the plastic knives.

Beautiful inside & out. The beds are comfie but be nice to have more than just sports channels on & news. Staff are awesome. Wish the pool worked but a great stay.

I stayed here recently in a jacuzzi suite for my birthday. The room was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are not cleaned during your stay unless your stay is over a Tuesday (occupied rooms are serviced once a week on Tuesday). There was a gym but no pool and sauna as advertised it's under construction (which apparently for some time now). But even without the advertised amenities this hotel is newer, looks clean &is very nice. Should be amazing after construction is complete.

But over all I really enjoyed my stay & was already planning MANY future stays with my fiancé until. I had the WORST experience I've EVER had in a hotel (the reason for 1 star which would be 0 stars if it were possible) that ultimately ended my stay in anger & tears & will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone I know. It was like going out to an amazing fine dining restaurant with amazing food & having the worst server ever-you probably wouldn't go back.

What happened was the night before I was to check out my fiance and I were enjoying thewereroom & decided to call front desk to extend our stay. In which I was told it would not be problem & that I could have a late check out by 2 pm without charge but if we stay beyond 3pm we would be charged for another day. Which we were fine with & fairly impressed with the options given.

However at 130pm the following day I was &resting & was rudely disrupted by the hotel manager Maria telling me that I had 10 minutes to pack my stuff and be out Of the room as I was beyond my checkout time and that another guest would be checking in & they need to clean the room. I explained to her that I was told that I could have a late checkout or extend my stay. Her response was, "Check out was at 11 o'clock AM & I must pack and leave".

This left me upset, in a panic & crying. At the time I was in the room by myself I was left to pack everything & check out on my own before my fiance returned. This treatment was extremely upsetting & had completely ruined my birthday as well as impression of my stay at this hotel. They misinformed me, and had a reservation for another guest, yet told me that I was able to extend my stay.

Needless to say we were charged an additional $570 (after checking out- Which felt like theft) for a late checkout fee & for another night. They claim they had to compensate the next guest who had a delayed check in due to me being in the room so basically we paid for a late checkout fee & the next guests night after being told we could extend our stay & then asking us to leave. Not sure why we were responsible for compensating the Hotels next guest at our expense.

This It was not handled respectfully nor professionally & was the by far the WORST
Experience I've EVER had in a hotel! As a result, loss of a new future regular guest.

Long story short I would never stay here again due to that experience and would never recommend this hotel to anyone I know. It left me crying, Very upset and sitting outside with all my stuff. Happy birthday to me!

Disappointed that there is no pool and hot tub as advertised on the website. Perhaps the owner could take that off the website until the pool and hot tub construction has been completed and are available for guests to use? It is misleading to advertise something that is not available.

The room was nice enough and staff friendly enough, but for the price we paid, I would expect a daily room cleaning service with fresh towels, etc.and the pool and hot tub that is advertised on website is not completed as yet. We were not told this before booking and there should have been some sort of decution to the rate for the lack of pool.

Amazing stay at clear water British Columbia. Swift check in very clean neat rooms. We had a comfortable stay. Only thing is the breakfast is limited to self made stuff I missed hot eggs etc

This hotel is new and as a result the hotel, rooms etc.are all in great condition. There is lots of parking and for those of you who have an EV, they have a few chargers. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is simply a result of the noise. Not the hotel's fault, but when I stayed there the hotel was full of oil rig and construction guys and a few of them clearly had no clue on hotel etiquette.

Pros: New hotel, comfortable beds, great gym, friendly staff.

Cons: NO pool or hot tub as advertised. It's under construction (and far from done) as of March 31,2022. No hot meals. Price is high for amenities.

Pros: The hotel is very nice. Rooms are big. Bed and pillows comfortable. Breakfast was typical continental breakfast, the person working in the breakfast area was very nice and cleaned the whole time. Day staff was very nice.

Cons: Price is outrageous. The evening front desk person was extremely rude and quite nasty to our group that stayed there, followed us down the hall accusing our group of being loud when we weren’t even in the hotel. The pool is also not available to use. For $200+ a night I wouldn’t stay there again.

Don't believe it's a franchise hotel. As I was passing by, I heard a housekeeper talking on the phone that she was not vaccinated. Omicoron has a fast spread, but there is an unvaccinated employee. The rooms and lobby are inside the building. Front desk staff take off their masks when talking on the phone. I will never stay here for my safety. I'll have to report this to the head office.

Very new, very nice staff egar to help from behind the desk, room was clean and bed was comfortable their was a slight smell of mustard though and in the hallway to room you can smell a slight smell of sewer.

I don't know why it says 1 star this is definitely the nicest hotel I have stayed at traveling on the road from bc to alberta a lil expensive for the room but I totally see why this place is like an apartment anytime I'm traveling through this way this will be the room I try and stay in so nice everything qas awesome about this hotel.

LINDA the lady at the front desk made the experience so much better what a sweet lady and if I owned the hotel I would give her a raise she was so awesome

It's a nice hotel but I had a terrible experience here. The lady working at the front desk was very rude she kept telling me when I was waiting for my room that she wished she had a flask so she could have some drinks at work. I than went up yo my room and when I went to sleep I crawled under the covers and felt somthing jab me in the Legg I pulled off the blanket to see what it was and it was someone else's big toe nail clippings. I phoned the front desk and she told me it wasn't possible I was disappointed aswell as disgusted with the service at this place

We stayed for two nights for a kids hockey tournament. The reason we booked this hotel was they advertised a pool! Great! No, the pool is still under construction and the front desk lady was quite rude with the kids playing. They do cater to a lot of the pipeline crews, so I get the kids being loud could interfere with their rest. The website is still saying the pool is open. They didn’t seem prepared for the amount of people eating breakfast either - no fruit, yogurt, and slim pickings for carbs. The lady restocking was lovely though.
