The standard Best Western plus Hotel right close to the inner harbor of Victoria. Great location, walk to all sorts of attractions.

I made a medical rate reservation to be here for my brother's open heart surgery based on reviews. I chose the king bed room. After checking in I tried the bed and it was sagging beyond belief. I requested another room and was given a 2 queen bed room. Bed was comfortable but during the night my eyes were burning and I had an asthma attack. I spent most of my time in hospital with my brother and symptoms disappeared. Shortly after my brother became critically ill. I lost track of time but finally realized my hotel room was making me sick! I let reception know, was given 2 room options. 1st one reeked if purfume. 2nd on not so much, but toilet didn't flush properly, sink didn't drain well and it stunk. Bathroom faucet was loose and could spin around. There was a weird bug on bathroom floor. Carpet in bedroom area was lumpy and a dangerous. One could easily trip on it. Patio door was extremely difficult to open or close. First room had dust everywhere. The fan in closet was caked in brown dust. Same with last room. Elevators looked extremely dirty. Smears everywhere including higher up. Disgusting to say the least. Completely OVERPRICED especially for a medical stay! If I'd had the time and energy I would have addressed my concerns and checked out sooner. Thankfully I was able to check out eventually and cancelled the rest of my reservation and find a much cleaner and cheaper place to stay as my brother is in critical care and on life support. I do not recommend this hotel at all!

Coming from Vancouver and staying at this hotel for work, my first impression walking in was that the hotel looked pretty up-to-date. Quite modern. It was until I had spoken with the front desk staff, that I was met with unfriendly faces. I've never seen such bad customer service, the older lady, I believe her name is Rachel, and the other older man (both weren't wearing name tags), had no smiles on their faces. I asked about my booking as I had called earlier and she said "Lots of people call here, Who are you? " in a condescending tone. With my third encounter with her, she went out loudly saying again "I don't even know who you are, who are you? ". From a person who's worked in customer service for years, this was very disappointing. There are other ways to speak to customers and this was not the way to do it. I felt this was very unprofessional. I have never been met with bad customer service from a hotel and this was my first time experiencing this. As a person of colour, I felt discriminated against, as some of my other coworkers staying at the hotel, who were not people of colour, were met with smiles and friendly hellos, while I didn't receive this same experience. My other coworker, who is a person of colour as well, shared the same experience, saying that the front desk staff did not treat her with the same level of respect and hospitality that all guests should be met with.
I just avoid the staff, as it seems that every interaction I had with them, always seemed quite negative.

Walking into my room, it looked nice but as I got a closer look, I saw that the leather backboards were falling apart (as seen in the picture). It wasn't bad, but added to a more negative experience.

There was also a lot of noise going on in the hallways. If you're a light sleeper, avoid this hotel because while laying in bed, all I kept hearing was doors slamming. My coworkers and I complained about this.

The only good thing about the hotel was the location, as it is within walking distance of downtown Victoria.

Breakfast isn't bad, but you could find better quality food within the city.

Overall, I would give a rating of 1/5, mostly because of my personal experience with some of the staff.

A very nice suite with full kitchen. Bathroom was clean, but dated. The front desk staff are EXCELLENT. Nice hot breakfast included. Right by the Harbour, so a nice enjoyable walk to Parliament buildings, museums & all all other Victoria inner Harbour delights.

As mentioned in other reviews, this hotel is located in the best part of Victoria. In addition to the fantastic location, the staff here are all excellent. Rachel and her crew have gone above & beyond for us countless times! My work requires travel and as such I am often in and out of hotels, but this one stands out in their hospitality and level of attentive service. I have stayed in newer and higher-end accommodations, but have never felt welcomed like I have here.

Great location in Victoria, situated on a quieter side street. Walking distance to central Victoria and harbour for whale watching tours. Good breakfast, nice pool and hot tub. Good size rooms, really liked the balcony. Just wished there was air conditioning, but we managed in June with the balcony doors ajar.

Our experience was good here and location was just close to downtown and other visiting places like Parliament House, the museum and many more. You can park your car in the underground parking lot for $12 a day. Rooms were clean and have a small kitchen too. Their breakfast arrangements were really good and bit changed every day. We had good time there.

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown. You can park right behind the hotel for a daily fee of $12. The room is clean and in line with the standard you'd expect from a Best Western Plus. They offer the typical breakfast you'd find at any Best Western Plus.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during our recent BC trip. We were fortunate to get a large end room on an upper floor with two balconies. The room was bright, comfortable and quiet. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The included hot breakfast was good and the location was excellent for sightseeing in Victoria.

I took my common law wife for an overnight stay to celebrate our 20 year anniversary and we were treated like Royalty! The Staff were exceptionally professional and truly kind! The manager Rachel Dickenson is Absolutely Amazing! She made our Anniversary one to Remember.

It was a comfortable & excellent stay in the convenient/ best located hotel at central pier. Rooms are big, hygienic with amenities like sofa cum bed, microwave, fridge, cooking range, tea/coffee making m/c with two accessible balconies. The breakfast was nice & tasty. In lobby, complimentary Coffee making machine & drinking water facilities are praise worthy. The Gentleman at reception was very courteous. Looking to come back again next time in Victoria. Keep it up ………

The location is fabulous but the Penthouse suite we were in was rundown and rather tacky. The 1×6 lumber on the deck is in terrible condition; the deck chairs are also in bad shape (one had a large tear in the seat, another had green growth on it!). In the kitchen, one of the lower cupboard doors was off its hinge; one of the wine glasses in the cuboard was cracked. As for service, we asked for extra face cloths which were not delivered, one of the shower body wash dispensers was empty. The front desk staff were friendly. Parking below was great. In conclusion, for a suite with such a view and such potential it could sure use an overhaul, especially for the rates charged!

I stayed on the third floor (308) this weekend with my fiancé and two kids. We were so disappointed how outdated and grungy the room was. It did not have ac and stunk. Friday night we smelled smoke and I let the front desk politely know. They didn’t even apologize, just said let them know if I smell it again. The cooked breakfast food tasted like freezer burn. It was just not a good visit. The hotel is in a great location, but definitely will not be returning.

First impression when we walked in lobby is beautiful, staff are kind, elevator is nice, hallways are clean, beds were comfy, carpet is vaccuumed, windows are clean, everything is organized, hotel room had a balcony with harbour view, beautiful kitchenette with stove, small fridge and a microwave and a table with two chairs and a drawer with cutlery had I known they had cutlery I wouldn't have brought my own, a keurig machine with coffee pods. We were on the top floor, the view is out of this world. We slept so well, it is walking distance to most places. We received impeccable service from front desk staff Lee, Lauren, Calder, Ana and one other man who works late nights I never got his name, those are the staff I had the pleasure of meeting. The breakfast had a few vegetarian options for me, I craved hash browns and cheese which weren't available but that's okay I survived off of those delicious little pancakes from the pancake machine, cornflakes cereal, toast with various jams and peanut butter, they have vegan margarine, chocolate, blueberry and banana muffins, little plain donuts, assorted yogurts, hot chocolate, various teas, orange and apple juices. The coastal coffee brew is delicious. The women running the breakfast buffet are so kind, prompt, efficient and understanding. We were told there is a staff shortage and no in house keeping, no problem we made our own beds and kept the rooms clean. At the end of the day we just needed a place to lay our heads. I felt like we slept on clouds, the beds and pillows are so comfy. I barely had time to watch tv as we were only here for a few days so we were out and about discovering downtown Victoria. This hotel is walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, Beacon Hill Park, Giftshops, Parliament buildings and bus stops. Staff is very knowledgable about bus routes, tourist destinations gave us helpful advice that sure saved us a lot of time and stress. The ambiance is great, you get more bang for your buck by staying here. They have an indoor gym which we barely had time to use as the sidewalks became our treadmills and we craved fresh pacific air. This experience reminded me of Newfoundland the people were laid back and so friendly. We enjoyed meeting lots of people at the breakfast buffet and sharing stories. I met lots of people from USA, Alberta, Ontario and BC. The place was packed, my advice is to book early as they fill up fast. We are glad our travel agent booked months in advance. We will not forget our time here it was a memorable trip. We are thinking about revisiting in soon!

Listen Breyn (I believe thats how its spelled) is a top notch customer service guy. Understanding, pleasant & patient ask him those burning questions and hes got all the 411. BW's are great hotels to begin with. And their breakfast service is delicious. I've had the pleasure of renting a room and one time, the presidential suite and its all worth the time and definitely budget friendly.
