Gone to them twice now and they’ve always been extremely accommodating and helpful.
Found out my tire had a screw last night and called in this morning. They were able to fit me in and got it patched in no time. Also found out that it was a screw in the bend of the tire which any other place would have told me I would need to replace the whole tire but they were able to repair it! Really helped me out!

Came here to get a flat front left tire fixed.   Claimed to fix the tire, and gave a big long speech about how they are the only shop that fixes sidewalls.   I left, came back the next day because the front left tire was flat again.   They claimed that they never fixed that tire, and started arguing with me, saying that the front left tire was not the one that they fixed.   I said ok, maybe you fixed the wrong tire? The owner made quite a scene about it, gaslighting me, saying there was no way that they did not fix the tire I asked them to. Needless to say, no refund.

So, I left.

They called later saying that, wait, actually, they did fix the wrong tire. The best they could offer was a $20 discount on a second repair job. No refund, no completion of the job I paid them to do in the first place.

Summary: they fixed the wrong tire and refused to give a refund. Not going back.

I’m writing this review from a repair last October. I was in Vancouver staying over in a hotel for a medical specialist appointment, and woke up to a flat tire. I was panicking b/c I couldn’t miss this appointment, but also had to get back on the highway to the interior before an approaching snow storm. After hearing this, Randy got me sorted out and back on the road in less time than it took me to inflate my flat and limp my truck to the shop. Besides being an awesome guy for many people in similar situations to mine (as you can read in other reviews), I trusted them to be my regular mechanic shop for all my vehicles when I was living in Vancouver.

I had a nail in one of my back tires and was told by multiple shops that my tire couldn't be repaired since it was too close to the sidewall. Big O Tires was the only shop that repaired the tire and saved me from having to buy new tires. Their service was fast, professional and inexpensive. I highly recommend Big O Tires for all your car's needs!

Randy was very helpful he fixed my tire and saved me some money. I was in and out fast he also has good customer service skills I will definitely be back. Highly recommend

Apparently they one of only a few tire shops in BC that will do side wall repairs.and this saved me the cost of having to buy a new tire today

I had a terrible experience. I'm a retiree with mobility issues, and my daughter and I came in to have a leak in our tire repaired. We'd called ahead, been told to come in, so we did. We had nowhere to park, and upon asking were told a spot would be cleared for us. While we waited a customer came in, an older gentleman just trying to find out if they could help him that day, and was treated very rudely by one mechanic, who was rude and dismissive and treated him as if he were some kind of inconvenience. We waited 20 minutes without anyone telling us if a space was available, so my daughter assuming they were too busy to let us know, went outside to see if one had opened up. While looking around a man named Randy who was talking with another mechanic, asked if she needed anything, but repeatedly interrupted her when she tried to answer him. She asked him to let her speak, and he loudly accused her of being "about to interrupt him" with her pacing. She asked him to to moderate his tone, saying she worked in customer service herself, he laughed at her. Deciding she wasnt getting anywhere and this was becoming uncomfortable she came to get me so we could leave. He followed after her and getting in her face he asked "Like my customer service dont you? " She told him no and that we were leaving and to leave us alone. He told her good, and began to rant after she asked him what his problem was, and if he just had enjoyed being rude to women. They asked us to come in, they told us that they were getting a spot ready. My daughter wasnt even trying to talk to them, he asked her if she needed anything. We were practically chased from the shop.
Not worth your time do not go. There are plenty of other shops where they will actually help, no harrassment necessary.

Fast and very kind. Flat tire repaired and it's patched not plugged! Would come here again:)

Randy made some excellent tire recommendations for me. Staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Randy was awesome and funny with his customer service & skill! I got my tires change yesterday according to the schedule and cost less than I expected, cheaper than the other shop that I asked. Really professional! Highly recommended!

Came here the last 4 times I needed some tire work and purchased my winters here as well. Randy is a straight shooter and the shop is well run. He was able to get my winter tires on, no rims, the day we were getting blizzard on 2 days ago. Randy can be a cheeky guy but it’s all part of the charm. Felt he was always honest, which is the most important thing for me as someone who’s not dealing with cars or mechanical things daily.

I am very happy with choosing this shop!
They were able to source winter tires of a rare size in the middle of the manic winter panic buying spree, at a reasonable price as well. The technician was fast and very respectful.
I did however, drive away with a leaking valve stem.
I returned a few days later, and they made time to replace the stem while I waited. Before I finished eating my lunch the repair was done and was on the house to boot.
If you swallow your pride and listen to instruction, you will understand why this is best tire shop in Vancouver!

Went in because I had a flat. Asked a couple questions about tires, which led to what was probably the most awkward customer service interaction I've ever had. Apparently I was talking to the owner.

I'm sure the work they do is fine and I didn't get the sense that he was going to rip me off, but I don't think I'd go back.

I came in with a flat tire, Randy told me - he was completely booked all day, so I planned on leaving my car here, but he offered to look at it very quickly! He fixed it within 15 minutes! I was so happy! He was honest & didn’t overcharge! Randy is a straightforward guy, and he cares a lot about his work! Come with a smile & be friendly and you will get the best service!

Over priced very bad service, i got the same tire at their other outlet (burnaby) at half price including installation

I am unreasonably happy that I will never have to interact with the owner of this franchise again. He is unpleasant, as can be seen in his responses to the many bad reviews here. Not only is he rude, but he is extremely sensitive and defensive and will let you know many times it is his business, and having any expectations on how he runs is unreasonable.

Overall, I can't think of any complaints I have about the work. Even our initial experiences about 4 or 5 years ago were very positive. However, about two years ago we started dealing with the owner more and the experience just continued to get worse.   Every request became an imposition, he was condescending when we didn't know something, and just consistently rude. This is my first time writing a review, and it is only to spite him.

The proprietor Randy could not have been more helpful. The purchase and installation of snow tires was done according to schedule and cost less than I expected. The entire experience was stress-free and refreshing.

So rude… could have just tell me in a nice way… went to another shop and they fixed it right on without humiliation…

So if you want pay $99 to repair a flat (let me repeat that - $99/flat) and get a condescending lecture should you dare to question the cost, thats your place. Gentleman at the counter will go extra length to proove how stupid you are and should instead bow in gratitude for saving you from replacing all 4. And he will do it with a smile too!

If there is a zero star I would give it to this big o tire location. I come back to this place because I liked the work of the guy that used to work here. Found out he was no longer here when I came in. I had a very bad experience this time dealing with the manager/owner. He was rude and he talks too much. May be this guy has been doing this job for too long. I also overheard the way he talked to his other customer while I was waiting for my car. In all fairness their price is fair and reasonable but the gentleman’s attitude is not worth dealing with him. There are many good tire places on Kingsway. I wouldn't recommend this place.

$20? My post is not about your charge.lol. You are such an ……… I have read your responses to other 1-star posts. You try to explain yourself or try to personally attack your customers when you get a bad review. My post is strictly for the public to know about your service, nothing personal. But you obviously took it personally. You must be so angry that you won’t be able to sleep at night. You are such a looser and I feel sorry for you. It is who you are. You were so aggressive, rude and unprofessional to that customer the day I was there. I felt bad for him. He was so nice. You degraded the guy in way that was not call for. I also note that your business has gone down and I see the reason why. Grow up.

Looking for a set of new tires for my S-class. Going to avoid BigOtires. Decided o take a moment and leave my feedback. About three years ago was replacing tires on BigO on Edmonds St in Burnaby. Looks like this facility doesn;t exist any more. Well< they managed to scratch all four rims on my Mercedes ML. Probably scratching one rim wasn't enough for installer satisfaction, so they decided to scratch all four. Regards. Will buy and change tires somewhere else. Just, if you don't mind, will check what you have in stock and buy same from competitor.

They tried to scam me. Told me my brakes and rotors were worn out as well. I went to Kingsway Brake and Muffler down the road to double check this and was told my brakes and rotors were just fine. Id get everything they say in writing before committing. Pay with credit card so you can dispute your transaction if any issue occurs.

I've gone to these guys a few times, each time has been pretty sketchy. I wouldn't go back.
Update: I'll explain why I gave a 1 star. First visit I came to buy tires, that was all good but then you say my brake line is leaking and I need to change it immediately. I never got it fixed and a year later I come back to get my brakes checked and you never mention my brake line leaking so it clearly wasn't leaking in the first place. Then I come again another time to get a wheel alignment and I'm told I need to replace my struts first which would be $1000+. I don't get it done but I have to pay a $100+ fee for them to tell me I cant get a wheel alignment done. I was okay with the fee until I recently noticed there's a big sign at the front that says free wheel alignment checks. I then went to Midas to get the wheel alignment and they do it no problem. I don't know what any of this has to do with my parking.

This place was terrible. Over charged us terribly. Ended up having to leave the truck there 2 days longer than agreed and had to pay 500$ more than what was quoted. Would not recommend they will rip you off.

Randy’s service is awesome. I really appreciate his professional skills and highly recommend this store.

I was calling around for quotes on a new set of tires. I found their price to be reasonable and the staff friendly. I was given much higher quotes from less friendly tire shops. I went for it based on that experience. They did a great job on the install and i went back a week later for the allignment.
Will go back again.

Very unprofessional, emailed with a simple general enquiry about new tires and some other minor things, only to be made feel a fool in the replies with no desire to try and help. Will take my business elsewhere

Got one of my tire patch a hole and would cost me 90$. Compared to other places was $50 for Tesla. Very over priced shop

My experience with this tire shop has just been terrible all around. Initially, I was going in to repair my tire because I got a nail in my tire and the repairman told me to just wait as he was busy. There was no other cars in the shop at the moment which made me even more impatient because I didn't know what I was waiting for as he disappeared for an hour. I was already feeling very suspicious as his attitude towards me was very angry right from the start. After waiting an hour I finally got my turn and I gave him the keys. The car was returned and there was CLEARLY damage on the right rear bumper that was scratched. When I asked him he angrily screams back at me telling me that the damage from my own doing before the car was brought there. I was so mad at that point all I wanted to do was pay and leave, but he charged me $110.00 on a basic tire repair and then held my keys hostage until I was willing to pay and there was no way for me to dispute this price. This place is a highway robbery with wrongful business views. EVERYONE PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I’ll definitely recommend Steve if you’re looking to get new tires at this location. He’s patient and decent. He gave an accurate approximation on installation time and he also explains to me how to apply tires rebates. Keep up the good work

Again, a "big shout out" to the mechanics at Big O Tire on Kingsway, they are simply the best, thankyou Steve for your prompt, and always courteous service, I always know my car is in good hands with you guys. Fast, efficient and the best place to take your vehicle when you need the jib done right.

We were told by 2 different tire shops that they couldn’t fix our tire, and we would have to put on a new one. Big O fixed it for us the same day and saved us about $250.

Just make sure to get in writing everything you want done to your vehicle. I had an experience where I left my vehicle for just a brake check but they changed all of my brakes without my permission. This was around the holidays as well which made it very difficult for me financially. I just don't want this to happen to others and recommend being very careful and again, get everything in writing.

I booked an appointment for alignment, AC and an oil change.

There was problems with my ball joints so I was advised to replace with new parts, and purchase new tires before doing the alignment.

The AC was recharged and working great

Oil change was done very fast.

The staff is very friendly and seem transparent and trustworthy. I expressed some of my concerns about price (I am not well off) and I was given reasonable alternatives and explanations.

So far great experience, will update if something changes =)

The guy there (who is probably the manager) is probably either impolite or has mental issues. Don't go there unless you really need to

Talked me out of spending $500 there to install a set of used snow tires. Looked like good tires for a reasonable price which they had there on consignment. And they were very flexible with my appointment. But then when I expressed some doubt as to whether we actually needed these tires, Steve insisted my current all-seasons were in good condition, would be very sufficient for the type of driving our car sees, and suggested that I NOT go ahead with the sale & install. This is a level of honesty I am not used to seeing. I HIGHLY recommend these guys!

The guy who I imagine is the owner was rude to me and every customer I heard him interact with. The context was admittedly a little chaotic, but it was just plain terrible service. (Another staff member that I talked was professional and courteous.)

I asked for my car back before we found a way to get more signals crossed. So rude. Who needs that?

Edit: The company replies to low star reviews posted here really capture what I mean. Same tone. Take a look.

Edit 2, update based on reply: Firstly, I called in on Friday to see about making an appointment. I was told that the shop opens at Saturday 10am (website says 9) and that it was first come, first serve. In the reply here I’m asked to make an appointment next time. Which is it?

Secondly, no one is blaming anyone or being sensitive. I had a problem that was uncommon to me and took it to people who are ostensibly familiar with it. I was told that I was literally in the way with my problem, with no suggestion for next course of action. So I got out of the way, went down the street and had my problem solved in 30 minutes. It’s that simple. Good riddance.

Called in for help 2 days ago with my punctured tire and Randy informed me that he is fully booked BUT he asked me to come in the morning the following day to squeeze me in. We were informed that it will take at least an hour or so for the job to get done. They delivered, adjusted all of my tire pressure as well w/o being asked. Would definitely go back for any tire situation

I worked at Big O tire. The guys there know what there doing. The shop there may take there time but they now what there doing.

I came in on a sunny afternoon a few weeks ago to beat the Winter rush on tires. Good deal on my All weather Maxis AP2 tires (recommended by Steve) and fast, efficient service!

This place is my go-to for tires or tire repairs. The staff give excellent service and are quick, yet thorough. I also got a great deal on my winter tires too.

Manager or owner was very rude on the phone setting up my appointment and rude when I arrived saying he was too busy so I left and took my business elsewhere.

The Mechanic and the Staff are not really helpful, lots of hidden and surprises. I paid for new parts but they installed the old ones. Dont go here it will ruin your day. They say they'll close at 5: 30pm but the workshop is very busy until 11pm everyday with lots of cars and people could be mechanics personal clients, I dont know if the owner knows about the mechanic's extra activities at night after 5: 30. I live nearby.

They were 15minutes to closing but took me in anyway. I didn’t have a spare tire but they had one in my car’s size after they had waited for the delivery to come. Couldn’t ask for a better service!

Where do I start. I had a weekend from hell. Lost my keys for my acura el in the middle of nowhere. Stranded by coldwater. Had to pay crazy off road tow fees, Hotels and 415 in mechanic fees (after we stupidly tried to hotwire it) to get back to vancouver to work. Now I have pretty well zero dollars.and still need a spare.not knowing that if I left my back door open and not my front my alarm would go off. So the alarm starts going off and itwont lwt me start it with the dam butterknife I'm using until I can afford a key. I'm bawling at this point. Im so stressed. I'm half a block from this shop though. So I try my luck and stroll over in tears. These gentleman and I regret notknowing thier names. Helped me get my car going so I can at least get around for a bit. Compassion goes such a long way in business and I'm so greatful. Out of the kindness of their hearts they helped me in a tough time and when I asked how I could pay them back he told me not to worry. I would come here with any future issues. Thank you. Thank you so very much. I cannot express how grateful I am to this company. The one gentleman who stayed to helpandthe manager who gave the go ahead to do so. Awesome folks.

Always friendly and fair, but you might wait a while. The word about them is out, so they're usually busy bees.

Lots of communication about the status of the repair, which was great. Also, they helped me out with options for the best deal possible, and were very friendly.

I will be using them again in the future.

I've come to Big O several times. Mostly due to flat tires and repairs but I've also thought about purchasing tires here. The only reason I haven't purchased tires here is because I've ended up finding sets of used tires for my car for much cheaper than sets of new tires. Staff here, especially the owner/manager and Steve, both are very friendly, knowledgeable and fair.

The owner (it seems) was strangely rude from the moment I pulled up my car. I wouldn't bother posting a review, but his rudeness was bizarre as there was no basis for it. Here's literally how it went when I pulled up my car: The Owner: "You can't park here"/ Me: "OK, where should I park? "/ "In a parking spot"/ "Is there a space somewhere? "/ "Wherever you find one. " Okay. Well I should have left at that point, but just then a lady left a parking stall and I just decided to park. A very friendly mechanic got out and took in my leaky tire and brought it in, and told me to wait in the front office.
The owner (who apparently was the front office guy) saw me go in. I thought he would come speak to me. About 5 minutes later I rang the buzzer. No one came. Finally the guy came out, spoke with a woman who was sitting there, saw me, said nothing, and went back to the garage. I thought the fellow as going to come out and let me know what was going on, or how long I'd have to wait. Another 5 minutes passed, so I rang the buzzer again. This time the guy comes out and says: "Look, if I need to tell you something, I'll come out and tell you! ". I mean what the. This guy really seems to have some issues. So I basically told him that I wanted to see if they were working on my tire yet, and if not, what was the time-frame for waiting, so that I know if I should go back to work or not.
So here is this guy I don't know who is expressing extreme unfriendliness and animosity towards his potential customer for no reason other than the customer wants to speak to someone- Not repeatedly- but the first time, to ask how long it will take, or how much it will cost. Eventually I was told the repair would cost maybe several hundred dollars. Well, I just took my tire, gave the mechanic a tip for his effort, and left. I feel for the mechanic to work for such a person. I honestly don't know where the positive reviews are coming from. Either these reviewers only met the mechanics or are maybe relatives and friends of the owner. Holy God, the guy was so rude it would have been funny if I wasn't the one waiting around.

This shop is awesome, great customer service. Went far and beyond to get the results we needed. Quick and reliable, general Tire repair, fixed my window. Great to talk with, relatable and genuine work. Thanks guys. Tony, your the man with the window work. Good job.

Requested a quote late at night online and got an email the next morning first thing. They were able to get me in that same day which was awesome considering its the busy season and close to the holidays. I found it strange that they didn't try to up sell me on anything or make any recommendations of things that i might need, but i prefer that to a store being pushy about an up sell. Overall very satisfied.

Was very impressed with how personable all of the staff is. They were very accommodating and professional. They had my tire (not very common) in their warehouse and delivered within a couple of hours. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a tire replacement. A very big thank you for your help with everything and for offering for me to pull around back and have my tire changed in the rain to speed the process up because your shop was full.

Needed a tire repair, they were quick fast and helpful and great customer service today. My dad needed a tire repair last year and came to this location, he was quite pleased with their service. Which is why I came back. You wont be disappointed. While I was paying for tire repair, I was talking to the gentleman about our driver side window wondered if they fix that as well otherwise we were on our way to another mechanic, thankfully the gentlemen said why yes we do, let's take a look. The mechanic came back with actual part costs, options and he was also able to fix today. Again great place and people that work here, they give you straight forward answers not vague answers or options. Prior I've called a few places and they couldn't give straight answers or costs or had time, I didnt feel comfortable going to those places or trusting them. BUT This place Big Ol Tires made our day by being amazing, helpful, straightforward and most of all was able to help us with a reasonable cost as well. I will forsure go back if I need any repairs done or to buy tires from this place, hard to find places like this when you need emergency repairs done.

Had a leak in my tire late in the day - despite being very busy they had me come by and had the tire fixed within the hour. I greatly appreciated their prompt help which made a bad day turn out ok.
