Big Star Sandwich Co.

Went here for lunch with some coworkers. While the sandwich was good it was extremely expensive for the size. It was almost $20 for a sandwich without a drink. For this price I would go to a nice sit down place and maybe spend $5 more for a much better meal. The sandwich was not bad and the place was clean and nice on the inside but way too expensive.

Not trying to be mean with my review, and I hope it’s used to make a few changes - the sandwiches were just ok. If you like simple sandwiches and your not from a country that has sandwich connoisseurs you may like it.

Wasn't anything special I thought the meat would have more flavor but fairly bland no smoked flavorl at all. If you want something other than subway give it a shot but not a place I'd go back unless they got some fresh cut fries and gravy they need something else the subs won't cut it in this industry but good luck guys.

Wanted to try something new with the family. Had a weird craving for beef dip so we Googled it.obviously. Saw this place 5min from where we were.
Food.it was ok. I had the beef dip #17 I think. No horseradish. Felt that it was dry. The bread was dry, the meat was.well, tasted like meat. Their "au jus" was delicious. Definitely needed some kinda Mayo or something cause even with the dip, bread for me was not good. I found it extremely expensive for what it was honestly. The sandwich was small and the drink is bottled. But, that's ok for the drink, but $3.50/bottle?

For over $45 for 2 "meals", definitely would have been better spent at a pub. For sure woulda got a beer included in a pub dip at that price.

FYI, you can only get in the place one way, the way traffic flows. Parking lot is tiny. Good thing it was empty otherwise we would have not fit with our 2 huge trucks. There's no room.

Terrible service from workers, they hardly acknowledge you as a customer, they overcharge for a footlong, and on top of it, the Sandwiches taste like moldy old diarrhea. Subway beats them by15 miles in terms of service, quality of craftsmanship of Sandwiches and pricing to top it off Don't waste your time hear and money just head over to Subway and get offered the BBD.

Overpriced. I found this place too expensive and the large size sandwich actually small, dry and mediocre at best.

Placed an order through
Uber. I ordered a large sandwich plus multiple extra add ons and when I received the order. I couldn't find the Guacamole and the cranberry sauce so try eating a turkey sandwich dry. I gave my feedback to Uber (credited me $2) on a $35 meal and called the store to gave feedback and I wasn't looking for a refund.just wanted to be heard. Whoever picked up the phone said appreciate the feedback but once the item leaves our store there is nothing we can do but you can reach out to Uber. Well Uber isn't the one who packed my food and took out the stuff.that's on you. Stop hiding behind these 3rd party companies when you change nearly $2 for Guacamole alone and cheap out on actually putting those items on the sandwich. Train your people better on customer service too.

So disappointed! I spent $85 on subs and 2/4 of them were DRENCHED in mayo. Mayo permeated through the bread and dripping down the sides. I tried my best to eat it due to how much I paid but it’s nearly inedible.

Read this is one of the best sandwich places in Burnaby, I don't think so. We had a turkey and a corn beef. They were just okay. Nothing special except for the price! Two sandwiches cost close to $30! Subway is way better, tastier, and more value for your money. And it is just a half a block away!

First off, let’s get this out of the way. The prices here are borderline obscene. I had a large sandwich with a pickle and a can of Bubly, which came to $24. For that price I could have sat down at Earls and had an entree.

The sandwich itself was pretty tasty. I always put it on my panini press I have at home since they don’t bother to toast the bread here, and it’s way better.

Big Star - if you’re reading this, consider investing into a toaster or panini grill. Makes a big difference!

Overall, this place gets 3 stars. It’s decent and I’d come here again once in a while.

1 star removed for the nosebleed pricing (a large sandwich really shouldn’t cost any more than $12-14 even in the post COVID inflationary world), and 1 star removed for the cold bread.

Wow for a hearty and filling sandwich - you need to order from big star! I got the Number 27 - roast beef, provolone, crispy onions, lettuce, tomato, onions, sriracha mayonnaise and garlic aioli and it did not disappoint. I can’t speak for the interior or service as someone else picked up my food but wow was it delicious! It was difficult choosing which one to get as the menu is quite expansive but I like how they section it off by types (roast beef/turkey/vegetarian/deli cuts/pork/etc). Easily one of my favourite subs.
