I love coming here! Love the variety of items and customization and reasonable pricing. Also love the free ice cream! Service is great and super fast.

I'm really speechless. The second time I took out rice, I didn't pack it. It was a waste of other people's time. When I got home, I realized that I didn't provide the staple food. Can you do your own job? If you are too busy, please invite more people. I'm really speechless.

Love eating here. The only downside is because they measure the cost by weight, the ones i added got too heavy so i spent like $50. But honestly still loved the food!

I am at big way at least twice a week!

Wide selection of meat, seafood, veggies and noodles. Favorite part of coming here is you are not stuck with things you don't want and can pick as many or as little of each thing you want in your pot.
Soup selection is also great. I've tried all of them and my favorite one is the tomato soup with medium spicy. I would say things are very fresh because of how busy they are (at all given times) things are changed n cleaned all the time.

Staff are so fast, before you can even speak to someone at the end they already have ice cream in their hands to give to you.

My only complain is they are too busy n and it crowded other then that this is my fav place.

Had the malatang with medium spice level. It was perfect for me and everything was delicious. The free iced tea and icecream went perfectly well with the meal:)

There are many kinds of ingredients and there are many choices of soup base, which is delicious

. Said about 10 minutes.it turned out to be a very long wait.and the waiting number in front has increased.how is this waiting list calculated? ? ? ?

I know this restaurant is top hit in Vancouver with long waiting times. However it doesn’t mean serves keeps rushing to collect my bowl while in the middle of my meal which I still working on. When close to finish they ask for serving an ice cream and I am not expecting it comes in a second. I need to holding the ice cream while I still eating my food in the bowl. I know it’s not the problem of the servers, they might get this instruction by the management. But my meal time (from the time I step in the shop till step out) only spending there less then 45mins. I appreciate the waiting time cut less then before but very not enjoying pouring my food in my mouth.

The tomato broth is really comforting and delicious. Would definitely recommend! Filled my pot with mostly sliced meats and a few veggies with vermicelli and got away with $20 bill! The only complaint I have is the leafy vegetables were severely overcooked…maybe adding them last during the cooking process would’ve been a good idea. Free ice cream at the end was a nice bonus!

BIG WAY? NO WAY!

Our friend put down 5 of us on the waiting list, when it was our turn, the manager said they have a table of 4 for us. If we want a bigger table, we’ll have to wait for another 15 minutes. I found that amusing, as we didn’t add the fifth person last minute. The small table for 4 was so cramped, and literally no way to sit the fifth person at the end of the table.

We then were given pots and tongs to choose our own ingredients. They do offer lots of meat & fish balls, meat, seafood, veggie and carbs. We went up to pay and price is fair.

We were then seated at a larger table. Food came promptly, soup base is decent and bubble tea drink is pretty good too. There’s no technique of boiling food, so as long as ingredients are fresh and cooked thoroughly, they tasted fine.

Towards the end of the meal, the manager came over to our table and asked who had a certain number. She said that order was not paid, and sounded like it was our fault. When in fact it is their system’s and staff’s fault for a mysterious error. She asked if she could refund cash when my husband paid by credit card. My husband asked her to refund back to AMEX, after many back and forth, the manager said she tried but can’t. Well, then just find another way: which is to calculate the difference and we’ll pay the difference, but the manager was stuck in that ‘refund’ mode and couldn’t get her head out of it. After several more back and forth and interrupting our dinner, the manager finally decided not to charge the difference. As we finished our dinner, we were asked if we want ice cream. 3 out of 5 wanted it, and were given what they called strawberry ice cream. It’s the most disgusting flavour I’ve ever tasted. It is not strawberries at all, it tasted like cough syrup + public washroom hand washing soap. Since it is not shabu shabu, the food got lukewarm towards the end. With such unpleasant experiences, and so many other delightful options around Metrotown, we definitely will not return!

Not a bad place to dine at if you don’t know what to eat. Lots of options to choose from and the noodle soup comes out relatively quick but nothing too spectacular stood out. Enjoyed the free ice cream at the end. Eat and leave type of place due to long lines.

This is a place I often go to when I feel like eating malatang.
The downtown branch is also scheduled to open, so I hope it opens soon. If you like spicy food, we recommend medium or higher.

I ordered Uber eats from them, staff messed up and confused with my drink order, I ordered sugar free and yet it tasted like 100 % sugar, owner needs to do more training and educating to his staff, disappointed. 凸

There was a great variety of options to pick from. I got the collagen bone broth, which was delicious and not too salty. I would recommend others to try this place at least once!

Been here a few times. Staff is always nice and the food gets to you decently quick. Love the DIY style with getting as much/many or as little as you want. I've only tried the soups thus far but recently tried the dry mix (spicy! On the lowest heat) and it was super delicious! Will try the tomato spicy dry mix next time.

As a tourist I found this is amazing hot pot place, fresh meat, seafood and veggies with different varieties of noodles and broth cooked in minutes.

A bit pricey, it’s too crowded during peak hour… waited 1.5 hours in Friday’s evening and the table is so tiny you can’t eat comfortably. Great choice of selection but overcooked…

you would work in the evening from

That means you would have to find your own way to get home.
You would have to take the night bus
from Metrotown Station and I'm not sure if the times.
You would get home very late, the staff that work there are not likely to offer you a ride home.

So unless you have a car to get home no problem.
