Biggar bottle depot / PoCo Return It

The staff here are always very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, today they were too helpful. I am perfectly capable of using a touch screen and a hand held scanner, yet multiple staff members “helped” me multiple times and ended up taking bags of cans and bottles off my trolly that weren’t ready to be dropped off yet. I’m pretty sure I lost two bags of returns today because of their eagerness to “help” me.

And of course I spoke up. I said “I haven’t scanned those yet” and “those don’t have barcode stickers yet” but I think they still took bags that weren’t ready and now obviously I won’t get money back for them.

I know their sign says not to pre print the barcode stickers but next time I will print them and stick them on the bags before taking them to the depot.

Never had a problem here, staff nice and efficient. To all the negative Nancy's, Karen's and Ken's who left one star review.get a life lol

DO NOT USE this depot for express drop off. They don't give you full price for containers. Total scammers! Use the Coquitlam or Maple Ridge ones instead.

Love the new drop off service returns in a bag put the sticker on and your done no counting no sorting it is all done for you. Then within a couple days it's in your account. Awesome no line ups no waiting just scan your bags and your done, Very busy location, Great recycle almost everything here. Staff mostly are friendly and helpful. Great fund raising opportunities here as well register your team and do as little as have parents drop bags for the team or have a full blown bottle drive they supply bags and even do pick up. Awesome

This place is what it is, recycling depot. It has a funny smell. But serves the community well. I can drop off everything from lightbulbs, to soft plastic, to cans and bottles.

I always find this place a touch disorganized.

Parking lot is awful. So try to choose times other that the weekends to do my recycling.

Drop in 6 bags for express drop off over a month ago and they still don't show in my account! I've heard this location is typical for bags of bottles going missing. NEVER go this location!

Parking is a huge issue. It’s always busy and little space to sort. While the staff are kind, the customers are disorganized. Many are sorting their recycles in line because of space constraints. Many customers come with huge bags to sort.

If i screw up at work I have to.honor what I say to customer.do not recycle here told one thing then told at the till that was wrong and too bad.if I wanted to return I had to.pay

Love that it is so easy to recycle everything here! We returned our dishwasher, compressor, Styrofoam, cardboard and bags of bottles.whole thing took only 10 minutes! My favourite is the drop and go service for bottle recycling. Sorting the bottles used to be my least favourite part. I now have an account with $50 and climbing in it. Just FYI you are supposed to scan your bottle tickets now when you drop off. I guess that prevents someone else from taking your bag.

Great place to observe Port Coquitlam society / area on a mini scale. Then go do the same at the big mall. SAME

ONLY 5 CENTS FOR BEER AND CIDER CANS! And they OMIT this INFORMATION in their signage. I would rather put my beer and cider cans in the blue recycle bin than support Biggar Enterprises' policy of ripping people off. I take my empties to Coquitlam Return It on Barnet Hwy - much nicer people and you get a full refund when you drop off your empties in a bag with the label to credit your account. Biggar Enterprises is useful for dropping off non-blue bin items like plastic bags, glass, styrofoam, cardboard, electronics - but I refuse to take my empties there. Whenever I am dropping off recyclables I ask the people returning 100's of beer cans if they know that they're only getting 5 cents per container - they all seem unaware.

Wasn't busy and with the new system they have where you don't have to sort or count them. You are in and out of the place very fast.

Don't use the express drop off for cans/bottles, they pay less than the actual deposit amount and there is no signage mentioning this.

You're better off using the return-it depot off Barnet highway in Coquitlam. They pay the full amount.

All this place is good for is recycling drop off.

The staff are always super friendly and extremely efficient. They have strict Covid protocols in place and ensure they are followed. But honestly the best part is the staff.

I have been there since two years ago. All the cashier were little bit unkind but these days they come to be more kind than at that time. There are shy customers around you. Cheer up.

They are trying to keep clean and change the spectrum of customer base. Way better than the former.

I was setting up and started sorting my bottles then this lady told me I could not sort them in that building and she moved my bags outside and shut the door.talked to the staff and was told well she doesnt know or speak English.yet she clearly spoke to me in English

I have worked here since January 17/2018 and was fired July 23/2019 because my manager was treating customers badly & I refused to call cops on these two customers because he had problems with them. I continued to help my customer and my manager looked at me and said Pam" Go home " all because I didn't take his side and call cops like he told me to. He treats everyone poorly, yells at customers, yells at his employees etc. Wish the Owners new how he was running there business. Feel sick to my stomach for how my job ended because of lies & someone else's faults.

Stopped coming here since they stopped counting plastic bottles for you. Before that it use to be fine.

I walked in today to get a cart for my bottle return and a staff person was yelling at a couple abusively saying they are ripping him off with their big bags of cans. Interesting that many posts are complaining about the opposite.being ripped off! Never going back. It turns out that staff person was the manager! The rest of the staff are super nice. Good Luck!

Go to recycle some paint, ended up leaving with the paint after about 40 minutes. All signs say take it to the back, but the back is a full and an active work area. Ask the staff what to do and their response "I don't know what to tell you". It's literally their job to know what to tell you.

I will no longer be using this location and will instead be driving further to the depot on Barnet Hwy in Coquitlam. There are 2 instances now where I have dropped off my bags for the express return to not be credited anything at all. I have never had this happen to me at the Coquitlam location and I am disappointed that his has now happened more than once here.

Like many other 1 star reviews, I also was shorted money and was paid less than what I was actually owed!
I used to cram as many bottles in those blue or red plastic trays could hold.not anymore. The oriental worker didn’t even count each tray, he just counted each tray as 24 even though there was more in each tray. Even though it’s not a lot of money, its the principal that you know you’ve been cheated.

He commended “look how fast I’m serving you! ” and my response was: I’m not looking for speed, I just don't want to be ripped off! He just laughed and handed me my short changed amount.

If I EVER go back I’m only putting 24 in each tray and will be more watchful in future. I’d advise anyone reading this that you do same, if you must support this fraudulent business practice.

They ripped us off. Watch how many cans you have closely. We have been going there for 4 years. Not any more. We went for fundraising.

Very Helpful, it's very clean inside and the cashiers are very quick so you dont have to wait long

Slow, tiny parking lot that can only fit 5 cars. Don't go here if you don't like waiting in line for a hour plus.

Have been coming to this depot for 8 years. Sad to say today was the last time. As we do fundraiseing for dance and other charities we are not new to this. We count our bottles and on one bag we miscounted. They took the bag forcefully and started recounting. We were upset at how they insinuated that we did this on purpose. As a female staff member recounted she was slamming down the cans and yelling at everyone to stop talking. The cashier was just as abrupt and slammed down the money for part of our returns and told us to take the remainder of our bottles away. I must say that when there is conflict, there are better ways to deal with customers. The place maybe clean, however they have a long long way to go to make anyone want to give them their business.
