Everything is so perfect! Punctuality, cleanliness, order. You can enjoy spectacular views, a good lunch or a Starbucks coffee. On board you will find a boutique. All staff are friendly.
Very friendly, helpful staff. It is also wonderful to miss the Seattle area traffic to get up to Vancouver Island. We'll definitely use this service again.
We do enjoy taking the Coho from Canada to the United States. The process of clearing customs prior to boarding the ship in Victoria is nice, considering the lengthy delays at the Peace Arch border crossing lately. The Coho is an older ship with limited services, but its a quick 90 minute sail
The Blackball ferry is a pleasant experience. U. S.customs, not so much. It is incredibly inefficient, as goes for much of anything overseen by the U. S.government. Why the customs agents on both sides don't talk to one another and understand each other's procedures is beyond me. In my opinion, they simply don't have to improve upon anything, nor do they care to do so, so they don't.
Great ferry service between Victoria BC & Port Angeles WA. Managed to get on without a reservation by being super early & waiting. We didn't believe we were in the right place at first as the terminal is part of the picturesque harbour. It's a relatively small ferry & they sure pack em in tight. Good services on board snacks, drinks and a gift shop / duty free. @grandrovervoyager
Nice ferry right in the heart of Victoria to port Angeles Washington. They also have other ferry runs from that port. Lots of cars fit in the ferry. Easy to board, border guards come to your car. Lots of cafe and snacks on board. Plenty of seatings area and open deck outside to view and take photos.
Very efficient loading and unloading. Comfortable ride with indoor seating or outdoor strolling. We lost our return ticket but all was OK. Photo of friendly fellow passenger.
Pretty old ship and not as nice as the BC Ferrys but it's the only way to get to Victoria from Port Angeles with a car so I'm grateful for that. Reasonable price too at $66 (if memory serves me correctly.). The layout at Port Angeles is terrible though. Most cars need to clear customs before there is room to start loading outgoing cars on to the ferry again.
It was good, last ferry of the night, highly recommend reserving a spot on the Ferry, so like us you miss a ferry because it's full and too late to make a reservation.
The ship is starting to show its age. Customs procedure on the Canadian side is very unclear. I've entered the US lots of times over the years. But this time it felt like cattle.
Decent ferry! No parking options but nearby was fine. Got there early and had plenty of options to sit on a weekday morning. Buying tickets in person was not a hassle. Easy to get around. Family found some good snacks and vacation options which was good. Prices are a bit high but reasonable enough. Easy connections for immigration services back and forth.
The coho is definitely an older ship but it's well maintained and the crew does really well keeping on schedule. The trip to Victoria was quick and easy. Food on the ship was good.
They do pack the cars very close to each other. Be prepared to get off the car deck quickly to get a good spot.
Smooth sailing. We use this ferry route all the time to get over to the island. They run efficiently keeping you on schedule. Great ferry. Better than the big BC ferries from the mainland.
Effective, efficient, easy. Pretty much all you want for a ferry. Limited food options but it's 90mins and you can just pack food/drink. -1 star because there's a small surcharge for bikes, while it's free for BCFerries
