Black Pudding Imports

Nice little store. I love stuff from the UK & i’d like to think i know a bit of the sweets selection & when i came here today, i saw A LOT more that i didn’t know about, as well as lots of different drinks. Also got a nice Manchester United metal sign for my football wall. This place has a lot of different options to choose from & the girls at the front desk were really nice & attentive. Def going back!

Dropped in today to buy some of their wonderful bacon and hopefully some English mincemeat. No bacon in sight but Richard graciously came to my rescue and cut and packaged some specially. I’m sure he was busy doing other things so I was especially grateful. It was delightful to meet Richard and his lovely wife - looking forward to seeing you again when the mincemeat arrives. Definitely recommend this store. Best selection and service around.

Amazing shop with that traditional flare of British humour, experience and service!
Whenever I visit, I always get my British fix and all the food and merchandise I miss and end up sticking around for a good old chat about our beloved English Football Teams and/or politics in Old Blighty. Love the family that own and operate this little gem and highly recommend those who haven’t experienced an authentic British experience (home from home) - this is definitely as close as it gets!

Thankfully there are a number of British Import shops now serving Greater Vancouver. Black Pudding, under new ownership for the past couple of years, stands out. Their store layout, wide selection of British goods, snacks, sweets, household products, gifts and parafernalia is well curated to offer something for anyone missing 'home'.
Incredibly friendly, I often spend time in there just chatting, and usually spend twice as much as I plan to!
Being situated close to Costco in Langley is a bonus too. Definitely worth a drive. Can't recommend them enough!

Went in to Black Pudding today for the first time. Wow, what an amazing store! They’ve got it all, including great employees. The two young employees were extremely friendly, greeted us with a smile, ready to answer any questions and sent us off with a “Enjoy the rest of your day”. They have a great sense of humour.

I went there to go look around and see what cool things there are and when I arrived there were 2 young female employees who were laughing and giggling while starring and my boyfriend and I. Once they saw we were looking, they turned to each and started whispering…makes me think they were making fun of us…terrible customer service and super unprofessional. And not to mention…while writing this review i can see them making Tiktok videos…I thought they’re supposed to be working not filming videos.

All in all cool store but terrible experience.

While they do carry a lot of great stuff, their customer service really sucks. I was visiting from Seattle (where I live) and was at Guildford mall at 3: 30pm, they close at 4pm. I called them to find out if they had the frozen sausage rolls I was looking for in stock, so I wouldn't be driving for nothing. The young man answered the phone and confirmed that they do have them in stock. I told him where I was and that I was on my way, and asked him if they could wait for me, even if I was a couple of minutes late. He told me that they close at 4pm, sorry. WOW, I could not believe my ears. Not.drive safely, we'll wait for you and what can I get ready for you at the cash register to check you out once you arrive. Clearly they are not in need for the $80-$100 I was about to add to the day's sales tally. I'll check out the store on 72nd that someone else recommended on Yelp.
All I can say is when I had a retail store, I would open early and close late if that mean more money in my cash register, especially if I was helping someone out who called and asked specifically. That's a guaranteed sale right there.

I wish I'd known about this place earlier! I've gone 8 long years without black pudding or square sausage, and I've always had to get friends to send "care packages" so I could get some Scottish blend, toffee crisps, and, my favorite, Sports Mix. It may be a near 2 hour round trip for me, but it's faster and cheaper than a plane to Glasgow. Will definitely be back! Just remember that imported stuff obviously costs more, but it's not ridiculously expensive. Plus there's a clearance section that's worth a swatch!

Best place to my British goods and all ways have excellent service and a good place fo go for a chat and the resent news on dolls if you are British you grew up with the book etc yes times have changed history is history

This is a terrible store. They carry racist merchandise and when confronted they simply took the items off the shelves but they are still available for purchase. They have made no attempt to apologize to the community or to educate themselves or their staff on the history of these racist toys. It is sad that in this day and age companies like this don’t take these opportunities to do better and have some dialogue around their mistakes. Instead they went on the defensive and still don’t believe they did anything wrong. I will never be shopping in there again.

A great store with great products and service! I see the snowflakes tried to shut them up and down but I will continue support despite the nonsense from the perpetually offended.

The product selection of sweet and treats is nice, but I was very disappointed to see Golliwogs for sale. Those toys are a piece of racist history that should stay history! Carrying those is in very poor taste. Really disappointed in ownership's attitude towards this issue.

Having lived in England for two years, I was very excited to learn of your British imports shop, and did not notice the Golliwog dolls the last time I was in. However, I am deeply saddened and disappointed to learn that you have been selling them for so long. This is in no way acceptable given that this type of doll was inspired by blackface minstrels - a highly offensive form of entertainment that has long since been recognized as racist. Please take the time to educate yourselves - these dolls are not okay and I will not be stepping foot in your shop again until they are removed.

UPDATED: Thank you for responding to the feedback you received regarding the Golliwog dolls you were selling. In order to move forward, we must continue to educate ourselves and do better. Your quick action in response to the public's outcry is very much appreciated, and I look forward to visiting your store again soon.

So much good British stuff in a small space. Food, cards, trinkets, footie souvenirs, pies! Free parking too!

Such a friendly place with an amazing selection of goods from the UK but also fresh Black & White Puddings, cheeses, local made pies and in house baking. You have missed out on the best British Shoppe around if you haven't been here yet. Footy hats, scarves and barware too!

Don't be fooled by other UK shops, BPI is the BEST. Every time I shop here I am always pleased. Memories of Britain will be brought back to everyone who eat their pies, candies & puddings. Love this chunk of the UK in the valley. They have been doing business for over 25 years. They know what they are doing.
