Although we were all looking forward to spending a much needed vacation in Penticton, with the fire conditions in neighbouring towns, specifically West Kelowna and Keremeos, we elected to do the right thing and not venture to the Okanagan. Extremely disheartened with Black Sea Motel when we were told that they would charge 1-night to the credit card for cancelling 24hours prior to check-in. Manager stated business as usual in Penticton. Interesting that a state of emergency was enacted for the Okanagan area. Although the charge was placed on the credit card by Black Sea Motel, our booking source was able to act on our behalf and a full refund for the 1nt charge was processed. Based on the concerns in the Okanagan, Black Sea Motel seemed insensitive to the fire conditions and to our request to do the right thing by avoiding all travel to the Okanagan. Bad business decision.
