Home hardware is a good store. When I am visiting my daughter in ABBOTSFORD I will go there instead of HOME DEPOT

I asked one of the men behind the desk for a flooring kit. He said "We don't do flooring". I pointed out to the man that they have the kits online, and I told him the name of the manufacturer. Same thing: "No, we don't do flooring". My husband asked exactly the same question and was taken to the flooring kits they had on the shelf. When he pointed out that the kits on the shelf were made by other manufacturers (not the one we're looking for), he was taken back to the desk and they ran off a printout for him to show to other branches who might have the right item in store. Is the problem is that I am female? No matter how absurd my question is, I do not deserve such condescending and dismissive treatment.

Bought a 100 foot extention cord for 48 dollars plus tax. Cheap, right? That is what I thought.

Helpful staff and good selection of wares. Kind of a down home vibe to the place, with experienced gents willing to share tips on projects.

Blackwood isn't a huge box store that has 50 of everything, but what they do have is a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and this is their major advantage.
When you need help you can find it.
They often have housewares on sale on the front tables. Good deals.

They did not have the on sale items.because stock didn't come in. I was looking for, but found another alternative.

Average inventory. On another note: don’t work here if you want to advance your career—This business is exclusively for the family members that are a part of it. Also what type of place offers promotions without a wage increase? ! If you want a slack job with bankers hours, little to no responsibilities and no oversight then join their team of underpaid and under appreciated staff:)

Tried calling multiple times, no one answered. Not wasting time and money to drive their if they don't sell the tools I need.

Staff was so amazingly helpful. I have a 5 month old puppy in training who IS potty trained, but took it upon himself to take a nice poop 15 seconds after walking into the store even though I made sure he went before we left home. The ladies had already put my items on hold for me as I’d called that morning and they were low in stock of what I wanted. They saw me on my hands and knees cleaning the floor and rushed to bring me paper towels and Lysol.

This is the local version of Home Hardware. It's been there a long time with very knowledgeable, friendly staff. It's my "go to" store. They have everything!

Don't forget this place they have just about everything you could ever want or need and and most importantly they are a local business supporting our community. Money well spent!

Took a long time to pick up my online order, and I had to order $20 minimum. Do they not receive regular shipments?

Treated like I was there to steal something when all I was there to do was check the prices on skill saws and buy some paint

It's small but had what I needed. However, I felt like a staff member was spying on me as if I were stealing and when asked if I needed help and I declined I got a rude awkward response. My tattoos and the way I dress get me this treatment often but it's unwarranted and profiling.

I went to two other unnamed building places looking for a replacement wheel for my Fort wheelbarrow. I should have just gone to Blackwood they had what I needed and more.

I have several times needed help with plumbing advice and other advice at Home Hardware. Elmer is a tremendous help in helping me out. Also you can also get help with other staff always compared to other places. I give Elmer and Home Hardware a 10 out of 10 for the service you get their.

Great place to quickly pickup building supplies. No so big that it takes forever to get in and out of the store and yet has most of what you need.

Given soaking wet wood that builder couldn't use for days. Phoned ahead to make concrete board was in stock. When I arrived they attempted to put hardiboard in truck. I explained I specifically asked for concrete board for around fireplace. They said it's the same thing. FYI concrete board is always recommended for high output fireplace installation. Hardiboard is NOT the same thing.

One of the bigger Home hardware stores it's not as personable as the smaller ones but has a bigger selection. I didn't use the lumber yard so I can't speak to that.

Do you remember when hardware stores had a counter with people behind it? A counter that you could ask questions at, and be greeted with a smile no matter how silly you thought your questions was. The employees at this building location seem more interested in helping the customer than turning a profit for their employers. They are so kind and helpful; it made me think I still lived in a small town. Great work to all the team members!

Went in for shop towels and wd40.didn't have any normal shop towels. Fairly supposed considering it's a hardware store.

The staff is generally good but be sure to price check before you buy, I've found that they are markedly more expensive than other stores.

Look at their website go to buy a part, get some rude service telling my to order online and wait 15 days, not sure who this store is for? I think it maybe just for contractors.

Everyone has helped me everytime I've been in the store. Customer service is a rare fine
but you are guaranteed to get that at Blackwood in Abbotsford. Great store. Awesome staff.

I placed a simple order for special order hardware. I gave all the proper product codes and they still got it all wrong. Unacceptable.

Helpful staff answered questions and offered to help me load plywood on my vehicle. This is the lumber yard and hardware shop that the local builders go to.

The last few times I've been there the staff didn't seem as helpful or knowledgeable as they used to. Just have to make sure you know what you need and want before going.

The service here is phenomenal! As soon as I walked into the aisle I was going to, I had a sales associate approach me with a smile and asked if I needed help with anything.as crazy as it sounds, I've gone to multiple other home stores where the sales associates avoid eye contact and almost make it seem like we're bothering them by asking a question. Although the sales rep that originally approached me was not too familiar with the product I was inquiring about, he went and got another associate to help me. They were both super friendly and polite. The second sales rep actually saved me from spending over $100 on something I thought I needed. Bernie and Al, you two understand the importance of customer service and deserve raises! Will definately be coming here for all future home hardware needs.
