The blaylock is such a perfect wedding destination, with being a wedding planner myself I got the chance to work with the experienced staff/owner. They were so organized, quick, diligent & had quite literally everything you could need! Having the accommodations on site is such a huge bonus with allowing the wedding party to be close to the venue & for all the vendors! They even have a pool for guests which is such a hit the day after a wedding. I will recommend this location to every single bride! Brett is an amazing owner, absolutely killing the event game.

I stayed one night and wish I'd stayed more! It was a beautiful and quiet mansion with lots of spaces to wander and enjoy, both inside and outside. The gardens are beautifully manicured and inside, you step back in time. I was encouraged to enjoy all the rooms and amenities and did my best, even though I was only there for one night. Though there is no A/C, fans are provided in the rooms and windows can be opened for additional air flow or cooling at night. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I was made to feel very welcome and enjoyed talking with the owners. If you're looking for a place to stay that's "out of the ordinary", I'd definitely recommend Blaylock's Mansion. Thanks for a wonderful stay, I loved it and would definitely return!

My family and I went on vacation to Nelson and decided to spend a night in this place. Little did we know it is a B&B NOT a hotel, so there was not the accommodations that you would normally expect from a hotel. There is no air conditioning, no TV, no mini fridge; only beds and some drawers. Because of the intense heat we opened our window to try and cool down the room but little did we know that hundreds of tiny bugs would end up slipping through the broken screen and flood our entire room. I'm a person who isn't a big fan of bugs so this was a nightmare, the thought of hundreds of these creatures crawling and flying all around you and your BED is just nasty. It came to the point where my dad was so hot that he couldn't sleep and I couldn't from the thought of bugs in my bed that we left to go sleep in the car. It's been like a week now so I am more calm about it but at the time I was rather distraught. Would not recommend to stay a night.

This place has mice. I spotted one running through the hallway. There was a shocking amount of mouse droppings in the morning right at the front entrance. The kitchen is just through the door around the corner. The thought of breakfast sounded quite unappealing after this sighting. The breakfast was two casserole dishes and some sliced fruit, so not something we would have eaten anyway. It's specifically served at 8: 30 until 9: 00.
There is no TV in the room, the wifi doesn't work in the dingy basement they stuck us in, and there is a communal mini fridge everyone has to share. Bizarre. The carpets are bleach stained. This place is just old and gross. They advertise like it's some sort of heritage site but come on! People are paying a LOT of money to stay in this place.
The shower has a glass door to the hallway that anyone can walk through and see in. I didn't even realize it at first.
There was NO WASHROOM IN OUR ROOM. We had to walk through a weird living room, through another large room then down the hall to a creepy little bathroom. Then down the hallway (look out for mice!) Past a little weird bedroom to the SEPARATE dingy shower with a see through door. The end of the hallway had a locked door. Very concerning if there was a fire.
Our bedroom door wouldn't latch properly so would randomly open until we figured out how to keep it closed.
The landscaping is overgrown. We walked around the pathways and had to duck under all the overgrowth.
This place is extremely expensive for what you get. There was no air conditioning. The girl at the front said we were lucky we were in the basement because it was cool down there. It wasn't. The parking was just everywhere as there was no designated spots, so it was hard to drive out of there. Couldn't figure out where check in was, what door we go into as it just seemed chaotic. Staff was always hanging around in the way but never really doing anything.
I informed the front checkout about the mice but she just said they would look into it then took our payment.

I just had my wedding at Blaylock! It was incredible. The staff, the grounds and everything was perfect! The rooms don’t have A/C which is unfortunate. I was fine as I run cold, but I know others were a little warm.

However, that’s my only complaint. I loved the place. Brett and his team helped so much. They went above and beyond. We had a pool Party the next day too. I would highly recommend Blaylock for your wedding day.

It has beautiful gardens with lake view and hosts are kind
But you must know before you book this property.
There is no air condition, refrigerator, TV and anything you expect to have in a hotel room.

My family visited 2 days ago and it was 35 degree and we cooked in the room with a small fan.
There are so many bugs getting into room at night time to bother your sleep so My husband and son had to sleep in the car.

I guess it's kind of my fault not to check the room amenities but come on! It's accommodation! Who will expect this kind of service?

The most I was shocked there is no privacy. There is a mirror door
in my room (#6) connected to next room's bathroom (#7) so we hear obnoxious noise everytime they flush the toilet or shower. In addition the kids from next room even tried to come to our room because of the connected bathroom.

How is this an accommodation?
Do I want to pay for this?
If I knew this facility, I would have NEVER book this place.

The property owner tried to make an antique and historical concept for this property but it's more like just old.

This place is very unconvenience.

I don't know how they got good reviews but I hope host doesn't delete my review for future guests.

A clean, serene, beautiful and romantic place with friendly staff. Lovely gardens. Delicious breakfast. Definitely a memorable experience.

My wife and I stayed in the presidential suite for Canada Day long weekend. The building and the grounds were beautiful and we had a fantastic time. We also really enjoyed meeting and talking with the owners. We're hoping to make our stay at Blaylock's a tradition.

Here's a pro tip for the locals: you can drive up and around the back of Blaylock and sometimes you can see turkeys walking around
