The teller I spoke with here almost convinced me to end my banking relationship with BMO. Never had any issues of disrespectfulness at other BMO branches. But at this particular branch, the employee spoke in such a condescending way that it felt like he was trying to publicly berate me. While requesting a bank draft, I just asked if the fee could be waived as a one-time courtesy since I hold a large amount of money at BMO at a lower interest rate compared to competitors. He could have just politely said no and I would have moved on - I just thought to ask once because why not. But he needed to emphasize in a patronizing way that I needed to be worth more as well as from his branch in order to receive that luxury. "I only do it for people I know well and whom I like" were added on as exact words. I was looking to get a $40k bank draft and he then mockingly asked me to use Interac to transfer that large amount over days and months to avoid a $10 fee. I didn't want to argue with him, so just chose to walk out without further discussion. Such horrible and atrocious quality of customer service standards as well as a lack of basic respect that makes me want to end my relationship with BMO at an institutional level.

Felt very judged and disrespected by a financial advisor at this Branch. I went through a separation earlier this year and the advisor didn’t have any empathy or compassion and instead suggested I eat out less as she combed through my bank statements criticizing me for each charge.
I ended up leaving and calling BMO customer service.
Came to a resolution with folks on the line at the 1-800 number and won’t be stepping foot back into that Branch as I felt really uncomfortable.

On June 26th I contacted BMO customer service to change the frequency of my loan payments. They advised I would have to speak to a financial advisor on the phone but could do a virtual appointment. Set one up with Lucy Guo for the next day. She never called. I waited 10 mins and left a voicemail. She returned my call about 5 mins later and had no idea who I was or why I was calling. She then told me she would need to prepare a form for the change to happen and I didn’t receive the form until 5PM. She also never asked when I wanted the new payment date to be.

Honestly what is with this branch? They don’t seem to care about customer service at all. BMO is usually pretty good but this location is just awful.

Seen a loans and credit specialist at this branch and was told misinformation and waited past my appointment time to be served when the specialists office was almost directly beside my seat thankfully another employee asked me if anyone helped me or not. Workers now just seem carless trying to collect a paycheck and do bare minimum.

The bank itself along with staff is pretty good.
My annoyance comes from their one ATM which is located outside on the street.
1) it’s in a very insecure area, with people walking right behind you
2) more often than not, the ATM is not working properly. It has miscounted my deposits 2 separate times leaving me having to go back the next business day with the deposit slip and asking them to recount the money in the machine to prove it didn’t give me credit for the right amount. It took 2-3 days for them to give me credit for the money I deposited. And many times it’s out of order completely.

I wish they could section off the indoor ATM so it is accessible after hours or at the very least make sure the outdoor one is working properly and safe to use.
