Unfortunately the food quality sucked.it’s disappointing and I wouldn’t go back. A different cook would make a huge difference and that’s for certain that that’s the main problem.

I wouldn't say I'm a regular by any means, but I have ordered from here more than a few times. Awesome breakfast, awesome burgers. The sizes don't look the biggest, but it's always a very filling meal.

Went here twice in one week, it was that good. Great breakfast food and very friendly staff, looking forward to our next visit.

Great little spot. Stopped on the way back from Tofino and so glad we did. Eggs Benny is pretty good, but the hashbrowns were a bit overdone. Otherwise, it was good.

AMAZING place to eat. Their breakfast menu has everything relatively breakfast related, 2 pages worth. Harbor Skillet is sooo good! We all left extremely full. I very rarely write reviews, but this cafe was so good I had to.

I had your fruit bowl and gluten free toast and I must say that your fruit bowl was the best I have ever seen or ever will. I wished I lived closer so I could go more often! Loved all the gluten free options.

Food was decent. Staff and service were very prompt and polite. Atmosphere is fun and portions are very large.

Dry hashbrowns, very inconsistent food sometimes good, hot and decent portions and others it’s dry, and cold being on hold for 5 or more minutes trying to place an order

Very very nice brunch spot in Port Alberni, what a gem indeed! Excellent lovely service making it a wonderful experience! Be "careful" of their super large portion size!

The Ceser Salad tossed with their homemade sauce is hands down the best!

A true port alberni favorite. Whatever you are craving they will have something that will hit the spot. A few of my favorites are the breakfast skillets, beef mexi munchers and the Chipotle chicken sandwich. And if you want to try something different they have kangaroo and camel burgers

It’s been over 24 hours since I had one of their skillets and it’s still all I can think about. Recommending this place to everyone and anyone.

Delicious eggs Benny, probs one of the best I've ever had. Creamy thick hollandaise. Crispy fresh hash. Interior deco be vibing. 10/10.

We ordered take out. The chicken cordon bleu was burnt and hard as a Rock. It appears to have been microwaved or Sat under the hot light for hours. Not at all worth the price of 26$. As for the 20$ seafood Alfredo, it could have easily passed for wall paper paste.a very disappointing dining experience. We took a cab to return the dinner and ask for our money back and they said come back tomorrow because the boss was sleeping? Then they called the RCMP on us and after a 30 minute stand off infront of the other patrons they finally relented and begrudgingly gave us back our money.we will never go back to boomerangs

Awesome food and service great menu and decent prices, we already enjoyed our meals. Also very convenient as it's right on the main highway.

Ordered the fish and chips, so called cod tasted like something out of a box, chips tasted like they were over cooked and sitting around for a while. Petty ordinary over all and coffee was cold!
I read about how the owners were chefs, which I doubt.
Service was great. Poor girl didn't know what the fish was?
I am an Australian, wouldn't eat this back home.

Would absolutely recommend this place, lots of options, even my kids liked it and they're picky like no other.

The service staff was very kind and the food came out super fast.

I got the kangaroo burger with spicy fries (not spicy really, just waffle) and a tofino island stout that was just huge, it was awesome, we will definitely go back.

Food was good. Tried Vegemite for the first time. Service was amazing. Not enough options for those who can't eat pork or shellfish, though. Would return, as it's decent fare.

Love the fact that I can get a kangaroo burger! The lamb burger is great too. Their entrees have decent portions and the cheesy stuffed mushrooms are delicious.

Excellent Canadian Skillet, and Big Bloke Omelette. Oh the Low -Cal was tasty, fresh fruit. Chock pasta Greek very tasty, and a big portion. The Barrier Reef Melt is delicious and the Greek salad. Bondi Beach wrap, crab & Shrimp was delicious with Greek salad. Extreme breakfast with bacon, ham & sausage wow.

Food was awesome, I love the bacon cheese burger its cafeteria style (order your food at the counter, and waitress brings it to you. You do not need the vaccine passport to get in

Got the seafood mac and cheese, and it might have been the best i ever had, the ratio was perfect 1: 3 on the seafood, cheese, and noodle.they kept me coming back ;)

I came here last summer but I just got to chance to write a review. Imagine how much i could not forget this place lol. My husband and I went there for vacation and there was no place to eat except this place. We were shy first to try but they surprised us! All staff were so kind and welcoming! Definitely you should give try! Won't regret!

Best breakfast in town ️ I love boomerangs ever since we stopped by before moving to PA.

Disregard the people complaining about certain policies, bla bla bla get a life and stop being so hateful. Wearing a mask from the door to your table or showing your papers is not saving anyone’s life is only making all of us miserable, hateful and depressed.

Stopped here for both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was good. But there dinner was really not good. The macaroni bites appie tasted like Kraft Dinner fried in really old, rancid oil with no flavour other than rancid. Not much vegetarian on the menu. Also not sure why they don’t check vaccination info, as other than ordering, everything else is table service (including waiting to be seated) and I even saw the servers take some orders at the table. Wouldn’t return.

I go there several times a week because my clients don't have the jab. The service, the food and atmosphere are always awesome. I always leave a bigger than usual tip because of this and because of what the owners are have done to allow them to serve everyone jabbed or not.

Go to Bare Bones instead and enjoy a delicious meal in a safe environment. It is directly the street.

We stopped in for lunch here. Plates were great portions, we almost couldn't finish. Staff was super friendly. Food came out quickly and tasted great. Lots of cool decor to look at and read about. My son recommended stopping here. Was well worth it! Will definitely recommend it to others.

Disappointing! This place Is doing everything it can to avoid COVID precautions. Very surprised when we realized no vaccine documents required because it’s a “ cafeteria”. So I can only conclude it’s a Mecca for anti COVID vaxers and anti maskers. No masks on kitchen staff.
Very uncomfortable and should have left but didn’t figure it all out until we had ordered.
At the very least- post your policy on the door in big letters so that more intelligent and science trusting people can avoid eating here.

Unfortunately, my family and I are very unhappy with our recent visit. We used to love going to boomerangs. We entered, were NOT asked for our vaccine cards and were seated anyways. We waited for over 20 minutes with no service or water brought to the table while our waitress walked past us multiple times. We ended up leaving as we were tired of waiting. Very disappointing experience.

All of you chumps that phoned in complaints over masks should go live in North Korea or China and see how it is to live in a country where you have no rights. If you are so scared that you are willing to rat out your fellow man. STAY HOME!

The food is plentiful and so good! Service is excellent! I give 4.5 stars. For me, the half star lost was because it was so loud. It is a smaller restaurant and with the customers, kitchen, and music level, it was difficult to have a conversation at your own table. Perhaps it's a one off. Will definitely try again.

Every time I think of another place to eat I end up at boomerang cafe lol it's the boomerang effect lol

Went in for a simple breakfast, got the most beautiful fresh fruit bowl I have ever recieved with literally 10 kinds of fruit in it, all perfectly ripe. Toast was hot and perfect. Every staff member is running, every customer is being served in a timely manner, everything is clean and it's overall ADORABLE! Highly recommend!

Update: I love their food options, lots to choose from. I have eaten only a couple of times in house since covid started, ordered maybe more than my fair share, I love their food, the salads taste wonderful and fresh. Liked waitress on one visit, friendly and checked on us throughout meal. Our other visit the waitress was rude and short when we asked questions, then didn't check on us, and we could only flag her down on one of her many check-ins to a table of young guys two tables down, we were on one side of patio and them the other.
FOOD ALWAYS GREAT

When their food is good its great, love the ribs and burgers, also zukini sticks are so yummy. Also good is their breakfasts, omelets hit the spot, when I request extra crispy bacon I get it:) I however have also noticed there are times where salads just taste like it's been stored to long or even cut up on same surface as other vegetables and when there's so much to cut up flavour of fresh onions really sets into everything and I'm not a fan of onions. I also have had about a 1in 8 experience with the waitresses, meaning only 1 waitress out of 8 times I go is friendly, and checks on me more than the 3 times when they were taking my order at the same time as my drink order because I waited that long, bring the food and then the bill. 3 stars and not 4 mainly because of my experience with waitresses.

The food was exceptional and the service that Patti provided was outstanding. We were in a hurry and she was extremely accommodating. We would definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone going through Port Alberti.

Food is good, staff is nice. Place is clean, i must say this is the hottest food i’ve ever received. Soup was really salty but other than that everything was good.

Best option for travellers from Vancouver to Tofino

The food is good. The service isn't the best, I've been put on hold for over an hour before, so I didn't try to order from there again for a while. I just ordered breakfast from there and my food container was sideways in the bag and when I opened the box the eggs Benedict were exploded all over the place.

Stopped here for dinner on the way back from Tofino. Ordered the ribs, which were delicious, an Aussie pie, which was just okay, and a kids spaghetti, which was mushy and flavorless. One of our Caesar salads arrived with the Parmesan cheese missing. The server was friendly and comped the kids meal, but it seems like the kitchen needs to up its game.

Visiting port alberni decided to go for breakfast based on the reviews. It was busy. No one came to us to even give us water two tables that sat after us were served. Finally the waitress said oh your waitress is really busy so I will take your order. Ordered two breakfasts and mimosas. The mimosas came faster than the water. Waited over 30 min for breakfast which the other tables that sat down after us were served and even left. Finally breakfast came hashbrowns cold and the food was ehhh. The mimosas were great with fast service. Overall very slow service. Would I eat here again most likely not. The atmosphere is cute.

Good food. Great service. We always stop by this restaurant when we are in the area. They do a veggie burger, but it's not anything special (I hear that the meat burgers are delicious). Add on some pineapple and additional toppings to make it better. We were recently here with our dog on a busy day, while passing through town. Even though it was busy they quickly found us a seat on the patio to accommodate us. All of the staff were so friendly.

As an aussie living on Vancouver Island, it's nice to have a place so close to home we can go and enjoy some hometown favourites

Don't go if it's busy. We were seated outside. The day was hot and were happy to find a restaurant with a dog friendly patio. The server was nice and even got our dog a bowl of water with ice. They took our order and gave us glasses of water. Then we waited.and waited.and waited. We still hadn't gotten our food or drinks. A server came out and we asked about our drinks. She said she wasn't sure what happened but remembered we ordered coffees and the a beer. Our drinks arrived! Another 30 mins go by and we notice the a table of 4 who came about an hour after us got their meals. We went in and asked about our food. Our server said she didn't know what happened but she could get it made in a few mins since the kitchen wasn't too busy now. We ended up canceling our order. Thankfully they comped our coffees and a beer. But we were looking forward to a tasty brunch. The kind server offered us soup (it was 30 degrees out) but we declined. We arrived at 10: 30am and left at 12: 00pm. Starving.

4.5 stars* (because no one is perfect)

Food was incredibly good. Girlfriend had the skillet, I had pancakes. Portions were good, and we left full! Service was really good, despite it being packed. Very friendly staff, who all worked like a well oiled machine.

Things I loved about it, would be the actual restaurant itself. Very cool atmosphere, and decor. We sat at the bar, which is made from a beautiful slab of cherry. I ended up purchasing a small hand painted turtle, which we love!

If your passing through alberni, and need some grub, check them out! Remember the town is small, and the place is a favorite. So some patience may be needed in order to grab a seat.

The. 5 star loss goes to a slight wait, and the washroom being sorta dirty. But realistically it wasnt bad at all. Keeping in mind the overall busyness of it all. Haha. Anyways! Loved it. And will go back again soon.

It’s not hard to make eggs benny taste good. They failed all 3 times we went. This place sucks! Sorry not sorry.

Ordered the beef dip. Service was slow not many people in restaurant at the time. Food arrived was missing au jus and had to wait 20 minutes for a new piece of bread. The server did comp the meal at the end though.

Kangaroo burger was great! Would definitely stop here again. Very curious about the camel burger. Their menu has so many great choices, the hardest part was making a decision.

First time there, first time 'out' since Covid started.excellent food, atmosphere and service. All ages there from babe in arms to decrepit seniors.good to see.

Australian themed diner. The interior decor was simply amazing. The attention to detail on each aspect was superb. Arguably one of the tastefully done washrooms I've been to.
Food could have tasted better for me to give 5 star. But the staff were super friendly.

We were looking for food after the closing time for everything else around and were surprised how much we liked this place. We'll definitely go back.

Amazing breakfast with lots of individual choices. Very friendly service and nice atmosphere.
