We rushed there when our dog was in distress and we knew at the end of life. Staff and doctor were very efficient meeting us at the door. They were caring and made us feel very comfortable through the heartbreaking experience.

Best caring vet I have been to. They care so much for animals and helped save some of my puppies that had pneumonia and was able to start antibiotics asap and save their life's, unlike willowbrook animal hospital who did an exam and tell me my puppy was fine and died 5 hours later cause of their misdiagnose. Boundary I highly recommend to anyone for the best most caring help for any animal. Thank you to everyone' here!

Had our family pet here. Walked away paying a small fortune with NO definitive answers as to what was going on. Just a hunch. After all the bloodwork, x-rays, ultrasound, and asprite biopsy we still left with no answers. Everyone was very nice and caring, but that doesn't help when they keep asking for more $$$ My pet has been home for 2 weeks now, and not 1 phone call to see how he is doing.

The vet and his solution to my nursing cats problem was great. 2 stars is because there were 2 vet assistants who were extremely unprofessional. We brought her kittens with us because we didn’t want her to get stressed out. The assistants asked if they could take a picture and I said sure, assuming she would just take a pic of them inside the carrier, but then the girl assistant asked me to take one out and hold it. I held her in my hand then I saw her reach for the kitten and said “I don’t think that’s” but as I was about to finish my sentence she grabbed her out of my hands and asked the other assistant to take pictures. Mind you, the kitten is only a week old. The kitten started crying for her mom and my cat started looking for her. But instead of giving her back, she asked the other assistant to take boomerangs on instagram of the kitten. I brought my cat in cause she was stressed (and other things) but because of the assistant, my cat got even more stressed.

Last night I watched and caring group of professional folks care for my sick puppy. It was a busy evening and each family waiting for their pet was treated as quickly as possible and with such respect. Thank you so very from our family.

My initial experience with BBVSH was excellent. We brought my 16 yrs old dog Odie this morning to their ER for he had trouble in breathing. We were at the edge of losing him. Every staff was super helpful and sensitive to our needs. The ER Vet was beyond excellent. Besides being knowledgeable and caring, she explained everything or options very clearly and realistically. She called us late to update Odie's status. We can tell that she loves her job and her fury patients.
Although Odie's outcome is still unknown, but I am certain that my baby is on good hands. The staffs are all angels and God bless them all.

My little papillon Cypress had to be hospitalized due to severe pancreatitis for a few days after he experienced a large amount of vomiting which progressed to not eating, lethargy, and a very painful abdomen. They were excellent at keeping me updated on how he was doing, and what the plan/options were moving forward. He was in great hands and I'm very grateful to the whole team for taking care of him. We will be returning so he can be seen by an internal medicine specialist in a few weeks for further follow up! And if we do ever have another emergency or need to be seen by a specialist they will be at the top of our list.

Best place to go and the best people to be with in an emergency. Felt so at ease and everything explained to us in great detail. Get frequent updates and pictures! Can't thank them enough <3

I called tonight needing an emergency refill on a critical medication for my cat, despite having had her treated here less than 6 months ago for seizures and a full neurology workup, they refused to fill a prespection for the seizure medication that was recommended by their own doctor.

Seeing their neurologist was extremely expensive and yielded no tangible results that would help us treat her condition better, or explain why it was happening, or even to modify the meds she was already given.

Very disappointed overall.

Visited Cardiology dept with my senior Standard Poodle. They did a great job of making both him and I feel comfortable, EVERYONE was kind and professional. Feel I got great medical advice. New location is kinda busy and industrial like in my opinion but the facility itself is amazing and totally pet and owner friendly.

Thank you for all ur care,
compassion, & expertise in the care of our dog Luna. We cannot express enough how grateful we are to have you and the entire team. We realize Luna's health outcome, is a precious everyday enjoyment. But I'm sure if we did not have u, we possibly may not have Luna here today. It is so reassuring to know you are here for us 24/7. Truly Thankful for Boundary Bay

Was amazed how caring and patient everyone is. Our kitty was extremely well cared for. After-care was also excellent, whenever we had questions.

We are extremely satisfied with the service we were provided with when our 9 month old Pom, Sweetie, broke her leg. We initially went to the Boundary Bay hospital in Bellingham WA for the initial visit where they were able to set the fracture and put it in a cast until we could see a surgeon for further consultation. Due to the petite size of her bone and lack of proper hardware in Bellingham, we were referred to the then Langley Boundary Bay SpecialtyHospital. We are so happy that this happened because the customer service there and the time spent with us by the surgeon was incredible. We have nothing but good things to say about every interaction to date with any and all staff. Emma, Amara and Dr. Tanya Wright have been a pleasure to work with as well as the support staff and front office staff. We had reservations about crossing the border for vet care, but those have gone out the window and we feel it's worth the drive to be treated with the respect and dignity that we have received to date from everyone at the Surrey/ Langley locations. You won't be disappointed! Thank you!

We have had a great experience with Boundary Bay. Our puppy (Nymuë) was 10 weeks old when she started to have seizures just a couple of days before our wedding with our house packed with family. We went to Boundary Bay because my parents had had good experiences there before (see later) and we are so glad we went. They did every test and were so thorough, explaining everything along the way and allowing us to call in any time to check in on her and ask questions, which was so helpful given how much we had going on. Turns out she has idiopathic epilepsy. On very short notice Dr. Gordon took on her case and the whole team has been phenomenal since then. While she was growing rapidly it was difficult to balance her medication and we would have to take her in as she would have cluster seizures every couple weeks and her treatment was great every time. We also had so many questions and would leave messages for Dr. Gordon and get a call back quite promptly despite his busy schedule. Now that she has stopped growing she is doing much better and we know so much more about her condition and how to handle it thanks to her ongoing care with Boundary Bay!

I also wanted to put some notes on my parents dogs here. They are from the interior and brought 2 dogs to Boundary bay before, the first for oncology and although she was far along and not much could be done they helped us manage her pain and quality of life and she lived 7 months more than expected! Our other dog had digestive issues for a year at least and it began to escalate. They were told she needed surgery ASAP and rushed her the 8 hours to Boundary Bay and she got into emergency surgery right away to repair a tear in her intestine. After this she was like a whole new dog! She did great after that but eventually passed away from cancer (only a few days before we had to bring my puppy in for he seizures) and in a similar manner and the team was very supportive with options and end of life care allowing us to spend plenty of time with her and make her as comfortable as possible.

Thank you Boundary Bay team for everything you have helped us with!

We were horrified when our seven month old puppy could suddenly no longer stand or walk due to what we later learned was a neurological issue.

Within a day of seeing her, the doctors and specialists at Boundary Bay had diagnosed the issue, clearly explained the risks and complications, the cost, and provided a plan for surgery and recovery.

The level of care our dog received here was incredible. Not only did our dog fully recover after two months—she would get excited, tail wagging, when we would bring her back to the hospital for follow ups with Dr. Gordon.

During the critical time around surgery, the hospital made sure to call us with detailed updates twice a day, sent us videos of her progress, and generally just showed a level of concern in every interaction that was reassuring.

With our dog under the care of Dr. Gordon and his team at BBSVH, we felt we were doing the right thing for her. She is now completely back to her normal self and we love her more than ever.

Thanks Boundary Bay for helping us through a very difficult time and ensuring our dog had every chance it could to get better.

The staff here is truly exceptional. When our pitbull Callie was acting strange we took her to two vets who both gave us an incorrect diagnosis before we were referred to Boundary Bay just in time to save her life. They knew exactly what was going on and knew exactly what they had to do. They were so kind and compassionate with us and our baby. They were optimistic but informed us of the reality of the situation which unfortunately was not in our favour. Our dog passed away two months later but we are so eternally grateful for the extra two months that we got because of the incredible doctors at Boundary Bay. The staff sent a hand written card a couple weeks after she passed and their notes were truly heartfelt and meant the world to us knowing that our girl was shown so much love in the time she spent in their care. The urn they gave us a couple days later is the centre piece of our home and it is truly beautiful. They included ink paw prints that we have framed. We are so grateful to the staff and wish there was more we could do to repay their efforts and kindnesses. If you are referred here, I’m sorry for whatever situation you and your best friend are in but I can assure you, you are in the best hands.

It was honestly one of the worst nights of my life, but every person here was absolutely amazing. I would like to give a shout out to Taryn - she was so sweet and answered my questions while I was waiting for the vet to look at my girl. And the vet answered all of my questions and was so sweet when I broke down crying. Unfortunately I had to put down my dog but the staff was so supportive and kind and if I need another emergency vet (hopefully not anytime soon) this is where I'm going to first.

Thank you Dr Crawford and the entire team.
TPLO surgery for our beloved lab x2.
Definitely a journey but your skill, understanding and expertise along side the most amazing care and support staff has given Sydney her life back. Thank you

Back in 2017, our golden became very ill. We were told it was something to do with her liver. After they took $$$$ from us for several days, we took her home. They pretty much presented her to us when we picked her up, after suggesting we euthanize her. No recovery plan or suggestions. It was “here she is. Good luck. May not make it”.

Well, 6 years later and with the use of holistic veterinary medicine which we found on our own, her liver has made a COMPLETE recovery.

Thanks for suggesting to us that we euthanize our dog. She’s doubled her life and made a complete recovery.

Even though it was after 10: 30pm Saturday evening of a long weekend the crew at Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty were very considerate of our dog's circumstances, prognosis, and provided us with options for course of action without being pushy in one way, or another. They were very detailed, caring, and generous with time.

Super grateful for the staff and support from boundary bay animal hospital. Have received nothing but wonderful care.

Our beloved cat Splinter needed emergency urinary revision surgery on a weekend. Nobody else within reasonable distance from us in the US was available to do it, and there was no way we wanted to let him go. Boundary Bay in Langley, BC had availability and we were thankfully able to cross the border and get him the care he needed. The excellent staff took great care of him as an inpatient for several days. I'm thrilled to say nearly a month later Splinter is way healthier and happier and is healing just great. Every single person at Boundary Bay is a miracle worker. I am so grateful for everything they did for us. I cannot recommend them highly enough! The aftercare at the Boundary Bay location in Bellingham, WA has also been great.

5 stars isn't even enough I wish i could give 10 stars. I took my dog Lawire here for an emergency visit in January and found out she had a type of cancer that wouldn't give her long. Although she was sick she was the happiest dog you would ever meet.
After talking with her Doctor; Doctor Elliot, we came up with a plan to make her comfortable since she only had a life expectancy of 1-4 months and even with surgery it wouldn't fully ever get rid of it or fix it.
She lived until April 17th 2022 and up until that day she was normal you couldn't even tell she was sick. It was hard taking her in so suddenly to have to lay her to rest when things took a turn of the worse but the entire experience with Doctor Elliot and the whole team at boundary bay made it easier then i would've ever expected. They gave the best care to my dog Lawire so much so that she was always so excited to see everyone when she would go for her check ups because she got so much love. I also received so many kind words and everyone there was always understanding and kind towards me while going through this. I'm SO glad I went to you guys and I will always highly recommend you to everyone I meet. Thank you for the amazing care you all gave Lawire for those few months and for being the one vet that treated her properly and didn't judge her for her breed. ️

Amending previous review: Tiger (a 10 y/o Service Dog) recently became "very ill" and transported to BBVSH's 24/7 expert care for three, very, very, long days. It's been 11 days since reunification, and Tig is doing "great". Another "life" saved by Drs' Harmon, Vogt, and caring BBVSH staff. Tig sez, "Bark! "

The experts at BBSVH have saved my Service Dog's 'life' twice in 6 months. My vet was in err (twice) and so BB's Dr. Geoffrey Hutchinson DVM, MS, DACVS - aka 'brilliant surgeon' saved 'Tiger' from a misdiagnosis of hip dysplasia (he deduced a pulled groin) and resultant recommendation for surgical excision of back leg's femoral head (FHO) and most recently, BB's Dr. Astrid Nielssen DVM, MVSc,  DACVIM - aka 'internal medicine Goddess' corrected a misdiagnosis of Cushing's disease, to be the significantly more benign (and treatable) Diabetes mellitus. A game changer.
Local Vets cannot be experts in every discipline and so 'no blame' attached. That said, the air smells so much better when you have an EXPERT on your side. A certified / registered Service Dog has a value that can only be equated via functions of 'love' and 'inputs toward quality of life' (and in BC, it takes 3.5 - 4 years & ~ 25K to obtain a Service Dog due to 'PADS' immoral monopoly). Such animals are both magical and sacrosanct.

BB's 'team' is the very best and though it 'kinda sux' your amigo may someday require such high level care, to not have available would be akin to a crime against nature.

Though I do not possess the ability to deliver the appropriate level of heartfelt thanks these professionals so deserve, perhaps this review will help others with their decision as to whom they entrust their best friend's health.  Without them, Tiger may well have been both crippled and ill beyond repair.

TY BB - 'Tig' is happy and well taken care of. It means everything.

Thank you to Dr. Drury and all the Boundary Bay team for taking SUCH AMAZING care of my fur baby Charlotte! Charlotte had to have back surgery and I was SO scared and the patience and customer care could not have been any more helpful! And Dr Drury did such an amazing job taking care of Charlotte before during and after her surgery! Thank you Dr and Boundary Bay!

One of the best animal hospitals I’ve been to from the frontline receptionists to the doctors. Unlike other emergency hospitals where is seems like they are trying to add random non needed things to your bill to rack up the total. This place actually cares for your animals and their well being and only bills for the services that are needed. I live in kits and I will make the 2+ hour round trip drive just to come here cause I know my pet will be well taken care of. Thank you Boundary Bay for the phenomenal service!
11 June 2022 16:01
They went out of their way to help make a really stressful situation better. Gave me all the facts I needed to make an informed decision. Didn't try to persuade me one way or the other, gave me several options all based on the facts and likely outcome rather than just trying to get me to spend money. Highly recommend this vet hospital, was referred by my vet in langley (mountainviewveterinary.ca) would also highly recommend mountain view veterinarian for all other veterinarian needs
10 June 2022 12:46
The staff at Boundary Bay went above and beyond to make our last moments with our doggy as stress free and peaceful as possible. Everyone was so kind and professional, despite our arriving in the middle of the night. I’m extremely grateful for everything they did for us.

Almost a month ago I was advised to bring my cat to this clinic, after taking him to another clinic that was not helpful. At first they were so helpful, my cat supposedly had crystals blocking him from peeing. They offered to keep him for 3 nights to monitor him and put in a catheter. I told them that I didn’t have the money and my mom put it all on her card. I’m a student and I’m working part-time to pay for most of my bills, I barely had 1000$ in my bank account. The first bill was 500$, and the stay was 3300$ but when brought the bill to pay it was 4,800$ we had already spent 1700 at the other vet and by the end of the 2 weeks I was going back and forth with my cat, they continued to tell me he just needed a non stress environment.after a week, he blocked again, costing more. Wanting to avoid bringing him to the vet, because we didn’t have anymore money at all. I had to take him back, and they told me basically, it’s 4800$ or euthanasia, I got a whopping 2 hours to decide, and my mom and I decided it just wasn’t worth the 4800$, and we had to put him down. He had been my support animal for a year, and by the end, the doctor then told me he might have had spasms instead. The lack of compensation or help with vet bills is literally atrocious. I was told to get pet insurance and did, to find they wouldn’t pay for any pre-existing conditions. I understand it isn’t the vet itself that is in charge of pricing. And I don’t blame the staff for that. But that is someone’s rent, groceries and extra. People don’t have that money outta nowhere. Get a better system. Everyone deserves to have a furry friend.
19 September 2021 8:04
They had me wait 4 hours in their parking lot while they let my dog bleed in a kennel. I finally told them to give me my dog back after they still hadn’t looked at her 4 hours later. My previous dog was treated there for Cancer in 2013 and it was a very different place at that time. This place is obviously poorly run now and I would not take any animal there for an emergency!
16 September 2021 18:07
I am a human emergency physician. I am clear that my knowledge has little cross over when taking care of my dogs. My dog Luke has been to Boundary Bay vet for emergencies throughout his 15 year life. All of the staff - receptionists, vet assistants, vets - are always fabulous. They never try to rip me off with suggesting tests that Luke doesn't really need. When Luke was younger, he swallowed a nut and ended up with a horrible GI obstruction. This team saved his life without a doubt. I cannot thank they enough for the high quality and informed care they provide. I would not hesitate for a second to bring animals to this excellent service to Langley residents and beyond.
14 September 2021 6:19
Had my little dog in today for a surgical consultation for a luxating patella. We saw Dr. Evan Crawford. He was saw kind and informative as he went through all of the information I would need to make a decision for my little dog. I felt very comfortable and that my dog was in very good hands. The staff was extremely kind and went out of their way to make me and my dog comfortable too. Thank you Boundary Bay.
12 September 2021 16:27
Top notch Oncology Service. It’s a position no pet owner wants to be in, and a great hospital makes a big difference.
Thank you Dr. Herrera and team for the outstanding and accommodating care. I appreciate the sympathy card and miss Athena very much.
12 September 2021 3:37
The staff at Boundary Bay were incredibly empathetic, professional, and compassionate during one of the worst moments of our lives; our 1.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog required surgery for a foreign body removal late at night.

A huge, and heartfelt, thank you to Dr. Geoffrey Hutchinson for his incredible work on our boy. Thank you again for taking the time to answer all of our tear-filled questions at crazy hours of the day and night.
23 August 2021 6:50
Extremely happy and thankful for Boundary Bay hospital, they saved my dog. They took the complaints and symptoms seriously after another hospital released my dog with no diagnosis. Boundary Bay found the problem with proper testing and had her in surgery FAST. The aftercare visits with them have been so easy, their communication was immaculate, I was given perfect/easy instructions on how to take care of my dog at home. I really can't say enough amazing things about this place.
22 August 2021 16:55
They’ve taken such good care of my senior dog with cancer (who had surgery to remove it!). They truly consider the animal’s quality of life when recommending treatment options, which is so important. The care they have for the animals is top notch, and the staff are so lovely to deal with (coming from a very nervous dog owner who calls hourly for updates). Dr. Crawford and the whole team have held our hand/paw throughout the ordeal and have gone above and beyond. They’re well worth the drive, and well worth every penny.
21 August 2021 7:59
We have been seeing Dr. Wright for the past year and super happy with her knowledge and professionalism. I have an English Mastiff and due to their size, care for them is different in many ways. Dr. Wright performed surgery on dog, she had complications post op and Dr. Wright got her back to being fully functional again. I can't thank her enough. My dog is my baby at 160 pounds.
17 August 2021 3:14
“Hotspot from swimming in the lake also known as bacterial infection of the hair follicle”
My puppy needed care at 3am and was taken in immediately. My overall bill was average for an emergency vet visit. The staff were friendly while I was overly upset and overwhelmed.
I needed follow up medication the next day because my puppy was still in great discomfort and pain it was prescribed immediately. Unfortunately not enough hair was removed at the top portion of her back which prolonged the infection and led too late nights and multiple vet visits. She’s on a steroid, pain medication and a spray antibiotic/steroid.

Hey Dr. Vogt.

All of bad reviews are for your clinic. Do not try to give excuses saying “ Can’t find files, not your clinic etc. ”.
Your clinic is the worst Veterinay in Vancouver. Shame….

DO NOT bring your lovely pet here if you love your pet. They are only good in front but not when you take home your pet in much worse condition when you come in.

They only cared about the money! All about making as much money from you as they can.

I cannot stress enough to anyone to check prices before you visit these con people.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER FOR MY PUPPY AND MY FAMILY!
31 July 2021 19:16
Horrific experience. Dog broke her right hind leg. Took her in at 6: 00pm on the Saturday of the May long weekend. They examined her, X-rays, etc. Stabilized and bound the leg effecrively imobilizing it. They quoted $12,500 for surgery to repair the leg (with many follow up visit$) and, get this, $7,000 to AMPUTATE.

They told us they would not be able to operate until Wennesday and that staying with them would cost $1,200 PER NIGHT in the interum. We got her the hell out of there but not before getting billed for $2,400 for less than a 24 hour stay. Then they had the gall to call us later to tell us they forgot to charge us for a dressing change - $178!

Truly mind blowing!

We went to Brookswood Veterinary Hospital. They performed the surgery for $1,500 (three 15 minute units compared to Boundart Bay's assertion of a six to seven hour procedure). We went back to Brookswood the next day for a fentynal patch change.no charge, it was included in the original quote.

Everyone loves their animals but there's no need to just throw your money away. Shop around.

My dog was referred by our regular vet to the cardiology department at Boundary Bay. From the time we arrived and phoned to check in, it was an excellent experience.

The staff member who answered the phone and came out to get my dog was cheerful, friendly, and a pleasure to talk to. She greeted my dog gently and let her sniff her before taking her inside.

Dr. Harmon, the cardiologist, phoned me when he was finished examining my dog and explained things clearly, allowing lots of space for questions and providing information and resources.

The next day, I received an email with a detailed summary of the appointment and findings as well as supplementary information about my dog's condition.

I'm very grateful for the kind and informative treatment my dog and I received from Boundary Bay, and I'm glad that they'll continue to be involved in my dog's monitoring.

Waste of time and worry. Dr. Johnson gave the assessment of enlarged heart or cancer which left me crying throughout the day. Little did I know he only guessed, he had not even seen my cat. He did some tests and then couldn't tell me what the results meant. He just said I don't know. The guy couldn't even make decisions, he told me they couldn't get a reading for one of the tests. Then silence on the phone, I said well then you're going to try again to get a reading right? To which he replied oh um yeah I guess we could try it again. And I replied with, yes you should. I had to tell him what to do in a normal vet situation. He seemed confused and utterly clueless. He also went on a tangent about how not feeding a cat real cat food can have all these negative effects, after 5 min of that I stopped him and said we've always fed him cat food? I drove down to Seattle to get some real care and answers and next steps for what to do. I'd avoid the emergency side of this vet hospital.
16 July 2021 5:29
If you need a neuro or cardio specialist in Vancouver, I believe this is the only place in Vancouver that has both. They are booked well in advance but are worth the wait. They are clear, straightforward communicators which I appreciate. Having to see these specialized vets isn’t fun, but BBV makes it easier.
14 July 2021 3:10
Boundary Bay saved my Frenchie’s life. He spent three weeks in intensive care and there was a real question whether he would make it. They were so kind and compassionate and didn’t give up on him. Dr. Crawford and Dr. Nilsson did an amazing job, as did the other doctors and technicians who cared for him. They never complained when I called for updates. I can’t recommend them more highly for their ability and client care.
10 July 2021 13:55
These people are kind, compassionate and very helpful, they saved my cat from agony and pain and I am so grateful for everything they have done for Lexi:) Animal lovers to the fullest and they took very good care of my cat, thank you guys so much

My cat had a polyp growing in his ear which was blocking his ear canal and causing persistent infection. He needed a bulla osteotomy. The surgery alone was close to $5K. I decided to proceed with it as this has been a recurring issue for the past 2 years. He was sent home with some pain killer and no antibiotics. I think he only got intravenous ones during the surgery. I thought that was strange.
I went into debt in order to pay for it as I didn't have the full amount readily available, but I was willing to do it as the surgery was supposed to fix the issue. Well.it didn't. It's been 3 months since the surgery. He still has the infection. The ear drops I was provided during the last visit (roughly a month after surgery and that cost additional $400) have done nothing. I was told to see my regular vet as they don't deal with "regular" diseases.
As nice, lovely and friendly Dr. Knapp was, it doesn't change the fact that I spent a whopping amount of money for a procedure that hasn't really done what it was supposed to do and it didn't improved my cat's quality of life.
On top of that I was told that he might need additional testing and a possible MRI to figure out why the infection isn't going away. It doesn't take an expert to figure out how much that will cost and I simply can't afford anymore vet visits, so my cat is still in discomfort.
Not impressed.

The staff here were great. From the sign in process, through the diagnosis/explanation, to the end decision and care - I felt like my dear Caly was cared for at the highest standard.

My visit was an emergency - when I pulled up they were waiting by the door ready to accept my Pharaoh Hound, Calypso, who was unable to walk. The tech took her from my arms and got her into diagnosis ASAP. The sign in process was straight forward, I was made aware of any fees, billing was easily done through email and phone. The Dr.was non-bias and straight forward with the diagnosis and options; he was also very helpful and understanding as I had to make critical decisions.

Unfortunately, Caly's acute condition was one that I feared would cause her too much stress and the decision was made. Myself and my partner were allowed to be there for her passing, holding her through the end. The staff were very kind, allowing us as much time with Caly as we needed and made the process less stressful. The attending Dr.explained everything, answered our questions, and assured us all along the way until we left. They also updated my family vet as to her condition, tests, and outcome.

I'm heartbroken writing this difficult review, but so thankful for the care my Calypso received at Boundary Bay, and thankful for the staff for making the whole process bearable during this hard time. Thank you, thank you for caring for my precious Caly.
21 June 2021 7:18
Unfortunately this was not a good experience. After my cat''s hind legs stopped working, I rushed him to my vet who said it was from blood clots caused by heart problems and his prognosis was very poor. He gave me the card of Boundary Bay Hospital and said if I spent $5000 they could help. Desperate, i rushed with my cat to the hospital and they told me the same dire prognosis. However, the in charge doctor insisted the only solution was for my cat to be euthanized. When I refused, she became aggressive, with another doctor joining in that I was just selfish, that my cat was suffering, and that I would have to sign a form saying I was going against doctor's advice if I didn't have him euthanized. Then they insisted that his pain could only be controlled if he was in the hospital. I said that my original vet helps people control their cat's pain with medication and the response of the hospital doctor was that wasn't true, that he didn't know what to do so sent me to Boundary Bay. I was very vulnerable and just got worn down by the doctors bullying and claims that my cat's pain couldn't be controlled at home, which I later found to be not true. I admitted him to the hospital after I paid them $6,700 which they insisted on. When I got my cat out 2 days later (when I was confident his pain could be controlled at home) they gave me a refund of $100. No surgery but they managed to run up a billl for $6600 in two days. I feel that not only did they take advantage of my vulnerability, they lied to me about the pain aspect. I am shocked by their behavior, as is anyone I have told the story to. That's my experience

Yes, it is Boundary Bay "Veterinary Specialty Hospital".
MONEY MAKING HORROR PLACE not a hospital.
DON'T GO THERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET. YOUR PET COMES LAST there.

This clinic is completely lacking in communication with its clients. When we had our first appointment I had no idea how long they would keep my dog. We waited in the car for 3 hours while they did tests on him. I had a one year old in the vehicle with me, it was not a great time. If they would have told me how long it would be I would have went home or killed time somewhere else. Our dog needed an ultrasound which our vet had told us when we were referred and the day of our appointment the tech was out at another clinic so we had to come back another day. If I would have known that the tech wouldn’t be in that day we would have booked another day. Finally when we went back for our follow up appointment our dog got more bloodwork done and urine tested and I never got the results. I called multiple times and was told they were still waiting on some of the tests. It’s been two weeks since our appointment and we put our dog down yesterday. So we basically paid $300 for nothing. It would have been helpful to get the results to either start a new treatment or to help us make this difficult decision. In the 7 weeks we were clients at this office they never followed up once to check on our dog. Extremely disappointed with the service we received here.

My pupper got the dreaded cancer diagnosis last month, lymphoma. It sucks. I was worried about the wait to start treatment, prognosis, chemo, if she’s in pain… That’s why I’m here to say thanks to BBVSH for the AMAZING job that they did! They got me in quick (on Easter Sunday during Covid times if I may add) and laid out all the information for me to understand in a clear and friendly way (diagnosis, prognosis, the options I have and what their recommendations were). They were even able to start Chemo on her the same day!

Special shout out to the friendly techs, administration and Dr. Robinson (Oncologist). Your care and love for my pupper was obvious and she was just as happy and at ease coming back out as when she went in. I really appreciate Dr. Robinson taking the time and care to answer all those questions that I had (and I had a lot).

If your pupper is sick, I’m sorry. However, you can take comfort that you will do right by him/her by coming here. Good luck on your treatments whatever they may be. God Bless.

So upset that they want you to fill out a form outlining how much you are willing to pay before they even take your baby in. I was basically hysterical upon arrival. Then when I was waiting to see my dog to say goodbye they came in with a debit machine before I could even see my baby. Compassion or money.this place is ALL about the money.
