Nice and clean outside Arena, surface Asphalt and pretty level, very good for some Stock shooting in Nanaimo. Even City Bylaw showed up to see about mischief - ergo safe place to be.
Volleyball horseshoe and Tennis courts, and a fine disc golf course. Magnificent trees and a scenic creek. Newly paved paths are great for cycling through the forest. Shelters and BBQ stations. Photos show the open south east part of the park. The upper area and the creek itself are even nicer.
Pretty local park. If you're lucky you'll see an owl or two. It's has two picnic shelters, a pool and tennis courts and lawn bowling. Lots to do for all ages
The park is pretty big. You can play frisbees or picnic here. Many trails, there are kids playgrounds, a pool, a duck pond, beautiful waterfall, and tennis courts. It's a great and peaceful park.
Such a massive park. Beautiful and so many little areas to check out that you wouldn't even know we're there if you didn't go just a little bit further. Will continue to explore until I have seen it all!
Beautiful park for a walk, picnic, or just relaxing. There is a duck pond as well as frisbee golf and other amenities such as an outdoor pool and tennis courts and more. Well worth taking time to go to this park.
Great short walk. Many trails. Quiet even when busy. Playgrounds for kids, tennis and volleyball courts. Disc golf, water wading. Fish. Currently has construction on upper level summer 2021.
Took grandson to feed the ducks, checked out waterfall, walked trail. Reminded me when I was a kid and loved feeding the ducks and hanging out at the waterfall with friends. Excellent place to take family to.
Really nice forest trail with a waterfall, huckleberries, some deer, and old growth trees. There is a salmon creek as well but currently no salmon. About a half hour walk through. There is also some totem poles that have been places on the ground due to wear and tear over the years. You can get a little lost in here as there are multiple directions you can go. Smells like nature! There is also a swimming pool at this park, parking, and disc golf.
Its alot larger than youd think being so central. But definitely you can tell its close to downtown as it doesnt have a clean forest vibe. You're likely to see garbage, tents or blankets sprude about. But overall the waterfall is worth the walk and its pretty quiet.
The parks is big has a few different trails there is a really nice area for some one to get married or have gathering (when covids over) I found it a light walk with lots of sunny area and some shade too
Beautiful green space. Don't listen to the naysayers. Everyone that has a lick of sense enjoys this area and knows that all walks of life enjoy it as well. So it accommodates all kinds, and should be viewed as welcome to all.
In a word, Pleasant. Bowen Park features extreme multi-use and open spaces in a pleasant, wooded, centrally located city park. Within Bowen lie: Soccer, Tennis, a Rose Garden, Sand Volley Ball, Disc Golf Course, Picnic Shelter, Swimming Pool, multuple forest trails, the Mill Stone River, water fall, a duck pond and amphitheater.
This is a great park for disc golf. Good to go on a sunny day, but it could get busy at times. Nice variety and two tees of variable distance for each.
It's a beautiful, serene natural forest park in the centre of the city. The trails are well maintained and the scenery changes season to season. The river rushes in winter and trickles in summer. Beautiful.
It's a beautiful walk in the heart of the city. They have a salmon habitat stream, waterfall, easy and strenuous walks, a pool in the summer and a great kids play area by the main building. There is frisbee golf, but I have never tried it.
Beautiful park if you need to just get out alone or with your partner and get some fresh air and clear your thoughts if you have lots on yoyr plate and just need that moment to yourself nothing better then walking to a set of falls and depending on the time of year you just moght catch the action of hundred of salmon making thwir way to their spawning grpunds.but keep your eyes peeled ice seen se pretty big owls lots of deer and some are bold enough to allow you to walk nearly right up on them. If you got kids great public swimming pool and swings etc kids will tire themselves out here.well the ones without ADHD.just saying, I have it nothing tired me out as a kid, and still nothing does yet.sorry to the parents with wild kids I know what y'all being put through. I put my parents through it.
Great place to walk with the family.hood picture opportunities and safe walk ways for your little ones. Beautiful in the late spring with all the flowers.
This park has many great features to attract a variety of visitors. There are volleyball courts complete with sand. There is a duck pond, many nice trails to walk or run on. There are a couple waterfalls along the river trails. At the right time of year you can see the salmon swimming up river. There are tennis courts and ever a lawn bowling area and outdoor pool for the summertime.
Beautiful little park with a very pretty river/stream. Some small waterfalls. Has a Frolf course which I have never used and many twisting interconnected trails
I love this park. There are lot of trails, it's quiet-good for meditations. Has waterfalls around. Kids play area, duck pond. Just beautiful surroundings everywhere.
This park is great anytime of year. Beautiful waterfall, nice easy trails. Wonderful place to take family photos. Public Pool, Volleyball and Frisbee Golf available here. I held my wedding ceremony at the outside theater, took all my wedding photos in the park and held my wedding reception at the hall. Lots of parking and very clean.
