Disappointing Experience at Bright Jenny Coffee

I've been a regular customer of Bright Jenny Coffee for months, but my recent experiences have left me thoroughly disappointed. It seems that the quality of service and consideration for customer experience have taken a nosedive.

Firstly, there's an ongoing issue with the washing machine, which has resulted in the coffee shop serving all beverages exclusively in to-go cups. While I understand that technical problems can arise, the fact that this issue has persisted for months is unacceptable. Paying $7 for a coffee, I expect the basic courtesy of enjoying it in a proper mug. It's disheartening to see the charm of sipping a premium coffee diluted by the inconvenience of a disposable cup.

Moreover, the additional charge of $1.25 for alternative milk options such as Oat, Almond, or Soy is downright exorbitant. In an era where environmental consciousness is paramount, one would think that a coffee shop would encourage sustainable choices. However, Bright Jenny Coffee seems more interested in profiting from eco-friendly decisions than valuing customers who are trying to make responsible choices for the planet.

Charging a premium for something that benefits the environment feels like a blatant attempt at exploitation. The pricing structure undermines the efforts of those who are trying to contribute positively to the planet. A business should encourage and reward such behavior rather than making it financially burdensome for customers who are making eco-conscious decisions.

In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend Bright Jenny Coffee due to the ongoing inconvenience of disposable cups and the questionable pricing strategy for alternative milk options. There are plenty of other coffee shops in the area that offer a more pleasant and eco-friendly experience for customers who value both quality coffee and environmental responsibility.

Cool, laid-back, artsy area with lots of table space to set up laptops or mismatched LaZ-boy-type chairs to curl into with a good book. Little bit chilly. Parking is EXTREMELY limited - expect to street park around the corner.

The atmosphere is really what makes this place. Perfect for students with its free wifi and gen z styled sitting areas and menu along with perfect for those looking for a dog friendly cafe.

A gem hidden in an industrial area. Great flat white and hot chocolate. We went there right when they opened. The donut I had felt a bit cold, likely just taken out of the fridge? Nonetheless, a great place to chill and have great coffee.

Great space to grab a coffee. They have a small coffee and snack menu, but the coffee is so smooth. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, benches, chairs, and comfortable couches too.

Great coffee roaster and cafe in an industrial park. Coffee was excellent. Really like the courtyard which gives a refuge from the industrial area. Friendly and efficient staff.

Such a wonderful find in Kelowna. Nothing like sitting in one of those comfy couches on a rainy day, and having a delicious coffee and snack

Ordered a latte with added lavender syrup, which hit the right spot first thing in the morning! Nice latte art as well. Unfortunately, coming right around opening has a disadvantage as their baked goods are not brought in yet, so no treats for us! That being said, the coffee shop has a nice interior and lots of exterior seating out back. They also sell merchandise and their own coffee beans! The location is tucked away in an industrial area but seems popular with the locals. Would return!

Great coffee and a hidden gem for me. Must visit if you are there. But if you love coffee this is the one

This place is wonderful for studying or reading a book. It's so cozy and has plenty of comfy places to sit, plus the food and beverage options are great!

Lovely gem of a place. Very unique. First place I've had a flight of coffee. So many different areas to drink your coffee, read or work. Didn't feel pushed to finish up. It can be very busy at times so check before you go.

I visit this lovely place every Monday. The staff are always incredibly friendly. The coffee is always great, and I love their food menu.

REVISED: The manager reached out to me after this post and was very apologetic for the service that we received. They care about their reviews good or bad and wanted to make it right. They gave me a full refund for our entire purchase. That is when you know a business cares about customer service:)

We went to Bright Jenny Coffee for the first time yesterday. We were on our way home and it was the last stop of our anniversary weekend and it was a horrible way to end it. Their coffee was good BUT we ordered 4 avocado toasts. They are $7 each and you only get one piece. In my opinion not cheap so I had high expectations that it would be delicious.

It took them 30 minutes to bring us our food (we were pretty much done our drinks by the time we got them). When we took a bite into the sourdough bread, it was ROCK hard. I am not exaggerating, I felt like I almost broke a tooth. You couldn't bite into it. My husband and I tore off the crust and tried to eat the middle, my jaw was sore after trying to eat one of them. The second one was even worse so I decided to bring it back to the kitchen (in my honest opinion we should have brought all four back but I felt bad). I told them to bring it to the kitchen and get them to touch it, you couldn't even break the bread in half because it was so hard. They decided to refund us for one of the toasts, but we still paid $40 for the whole meal.

We will never go back, it was very disappointing.

This place serves the most overpriced coffee/drinks and snacks. I was charged 5$ for a tiny scone. They sell juice that’s marked up to $13 for a tiny bottle! They also have terrible customer service. Don’t be fooled, with these prices you could get something deluxe elsewhere. Its location is also out of the way and for the prices they’re charging you would think they would be in downtown on the water. Highly do not recommend!

It's pretty good but lacks its own character.

The air quality in the co-working space is quite poor (paint smell) and the lighting is not conducive to productivity for those on the spectrum.

They make some really good coffee but it's almost all light roast which is not a daily drinker for most people.

Their continued retail expansion and lack of an on-site owner shows a lot about where this brand is heading. $

When looking for a spot to meet up or co work with friends this is my go to in Kelowna. Lots of space, a multitude of beverages, their coffee is great and they have good tea options too. Always great baked goods to keep you going.

Ok, when I first drove up I had reservations about the location. However, it's super cute. Atmosphere and decore was chill, and kinda loved the view of the roaster? I think that's what it was anyway. Service was great, coffee was super fresh and delicious. Muffins were DELICIOUS! Vegan and gluten free options. Would definitely go here again.

Great place for a coffee, I really like the vegan Nanaimo bar and espresso! And you can bring your dog to the back outdoor patio area. Usually can always find a seat although can get pretty busy in the warmer months.

Really cool place. Best matcha and best mocha in Kelowna, maybe the world. Outside appearance is deceptively small, as the inside goes way further than one might assume. They roast their own beans and they are rocking the ultra-exclusive Slayer espresso machine, which is always a sign of baristas that know their coffee. Took one star off atmosphere because parking sucks and both bathrooms were in use the whole time we were there.

Super pretty outdoor space through the back, bright and welcoming. Food was amazing and priced fairly

Inclusive and loving cafe with incredible staff. This place makes my favorite latte in Kelowna. Gluten free baked goods is always a plus! Super cool vibe. Must check it out!

I was never a coffee lover until I had an oat milk cappuccino from here. Look ma, no sugar needed, served with a smile every single time. The food menu is also amazing, not a thing on it I don't love although the egg cups would be my favourite. The warehouse style back room is amazingly warm and feels surprisingly homey too, and don't even get me started with the summer vibes and all the dogs.

Great staff and environment! Both locations are fantastic and I would recommend to anyone they check it out. The Bright Lab is a great space to chill, work on some things and sip tasty coffee. The only thing that would improve this place is maybe the parking. But it is Kelowna so it’s not their fault. 5 STARS (6 if I could)

Wow! This was really good! If you’re looking for a good coffe shop at Kelowna this is my recommendation! The staff was super kind and friendly! They explained which coffe and matcha they recommended and they were SO right! Delicious! Also the vibes were AMAZING! Such a well put place!

This place is wayyy overrated. Staff took a food order from the customer in front of us and then abruptly closed the kitchen.

We weren't asked if we wanted China cups or paper cups but rather simply given paper cups.

Ambiance out the back is just picnic tables in a parking lot with a couple of strings of lights.

The cappuccino itself could best be described as average and the staff seemed disinterested.

I didn't have a good experience here and won't be going back. Again, it's way overrated at 4.8 from people drinking the koolaid.

The coffee is decent but I don't know if it's worth the 15 minute wait for them to make a pour over. I was there today and had what I can only describe as the slowest pour over I've ever seen. I ordered and watched as three people (all staff) stood around chatting with a friend. They clearly forgot they were making the pour over and when I asked why it was taking so long they seemed to remember they were working. I did have one staff member respond to my question with a snarky "I don't know what you want me to tell you" after I asked how much longer it would be. If it had been busy I would have understood a bit of a wait but the shop was mostly empty. Good coffee but not worth the wait.
