Britannia Mine Museum

You drive by it constantly and have no idea how incredible this museum is. You can’t even really call it a museum as it’s an experience. Well worth the ticket price. Bring the family on a warm day for the best atmosphere. We went on a -12C day and still had a blast.

Been driving past this place for years and today we finally decided to take a look inside. Dan was an amazing tour guide. A must visit when in the area. Highly recommend!

Great tour and very educational. Always seem to hear about the logging history of BC so it was nice to also learn about the mining history. Fascinating place with a great guide. Would be great for kids too.
Edit: 2022 - the Boom experience is a must see if you haven't been back since 2019. Like me!

$39 entry fee is a bit steep, but really enjoyed the underground mine tour (tour run every hour on the hour) and the grandiose mill interior.
Would love the behind the scene tour to explore the mill more, but an extra $45 for this is too expensive.

Highly recommend the behind the scenes mill no. 3 tour. You can access the places limited to general public with a guides & know more about how the mill worked in the past. Most impotant, you can take great photos up there

The tour we took was very interesting. The museum itself has lots of information and the movie was also packed with interesting facts. We spent around 2 hours inside and we will come back again.

Nice place for family to visit! The guide to the mind is very interesting. Lots of interesting exhibitions for curious minds.

The Behind-the-Scenes tour is a blast! Totally worth every penny. The guides are super nice and very knowledgeable.

Despite our kids' complaints about coming here ahead of time, they loved it (which I already knew they would, of course)! The staff was very friendly, helpful, and informative. The train ride into the mine was the highlight of the trip, followed up by the boom show. We had a great guide! It was absolutely worth the admission fee, and as we arrived towards the end of the day (about 2 hours before closing), we could have spent more time there.

Fascinating old mine. Really enjoyed our visit learning about mining and exploring the underground.

Cool tour of the mine museum. Tour guide was information, funny, and was able to show how the machinery worked. Train ride is slow and maybe a 5min ride. The rest of the tour you are walking around. I would recommend the tour. You really get the history do the town and the mine.

The surrounding scenery is also beautiful, so it is recommended for a day course.

It was amazing! The tour was great; showed how is mining actually done. The boom was great too. My son has the most amount of fun at gold panning; we ended up finding and keeping a couple of nice stones and pyrites

This was definitely one of the most "WORTH IT" experiences I have had in the Greater Vancouver Area. The museum itself is great (worth looking at after what i mention, but the trip into the mine + the award-winning BOOM show is the cherry on top. Really gave you a perspective of small town economics and what mining is like. Tickets are CHEAP and WORTH IT. Couldn't recommend enough.
