They always have good deals in clearance and everything I need as a pet owner from food to supplies.

I am a visitor from Alberta and our province doesn't have Buckerfields in our province. It has some similarly to Peavy Mart, but is more of a farm feed store and a garden center. Lots of unique house and outdoor landscaping items.

If you’ve ever found yourself the unwilling recipient of honey bees, Buckerfield’s is your logical next stop. No, Shane wasn’t kidding- he really brought over a container full of honey bees. Am I afraid of bees? Hell yes. Did I ever want to bee an apiarist? Nope, but here I am. Is it fun? Yeah. Do I often phrase things rhetorically?

This store has real world supplies for apiarists thru to zoologists. I was able to find smokers, brood frames, bee suits and many other things I’ll never need, but purchased because bees scare me. The staff may have known nothing at all about honey bees, but they’re very friendly. The staff also know which aisle to point at.

Buckerfield’s is fantastic. It reminds me of a Saskatchewan farm supply store (a place I’ve never actually been, I should add). Had I owned a bee suit 2 years ago I’d never have run out of Butterfly World, screaming.

This is a great little store. It carries odd things you may rarely need for animal care, but would find nowhere else. Who doesn’t need a galvanized 50 gallon cattle trough? Me neither, but if my friend Shane drops off a horse, domesticated elk, or super pigs, I’ll be back at Buckerfield’s picking one up.

Love the store and what they have in stock. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. LOVE that you can bring your dogs in the store! They have rearranged the store and it looks great!

Been going to Buckerfields at Southgate Nanaimo since moving to Cedar last summer. Staff is always pleasant and willing to be helpful. On a few occasions they could not answer my questions, but that is unusual. We purchase dog and cat food as well as pet accessories, bird items, and cute ornaments from there. They carry gardening stuff but very expensive in my opinion. We frequent this place because of convenience mostly as generally speaking, cost of shopping there is more than other similar outlets. Would rate higher if it wasn't for the high prices.

There is something about Buckerfields I just love. Whether its the graden centre items, pet stuff and the occasionally item for the closet! It has a rustic ambiance that I like.

The staff has always been helpful and nice to talk with. Check it out.

Extremely poor selection of wet dog food. Healthy looking plants and wide selection of pet products. Very poor customer service by a few cashiers

This new remodeled store is fresh and inviting. It doesn't feel like a farm store but more like a market. Buy your chicken feed, dog food, and a puzzle or two, or maybe you are looking for some plants - a great mix of products beyond feed for your critters.

I went there for plants, fertilizer and grass seed. To my disappointment, the grass seed selection was very minimal and prices were not very comparable to other stores. (I went here because the Garden Center at Walmart wasn't open early morning) However, if you are looking for pet supplies, they have quite the selection.
I liked the idea of a sign stating 'please ask employee to lift and place bags of fertilizer, etc into your vehicle'. The young man working outside on Sunday was very pleasant and helpful. His demeanor was very much appreciated and duly noted. Thank you for that

Great selection, always easy to find things that I am looking for. Better finds in a smaller store than walking around a big box store for hardware items as well. Highly recommend.

With the renos done, the store is one inviting and attractive, and much more convenient to find sought-after items.

Use this store weekly for my Cleanburn pellets chicken and dog feeds. It looks great all new inside. Able to get top quality dog foods even refrigerated and frozen.

I've been going to Buckerfield's for many years. I use to buy dog food from there but later moved to another supplier as I switched to raw meats.

My recent visit has me looking for irrigation supplies, but I did not find what I wanted. However that didn't stop me from looking around a bit. They always have something that I might need. Whether a pair of boots, a tree or plant, or a gift for someone.

Staff are always friendly.

One of my favourite places for gardening supplies. Also has a great selection of dog food at good prices.

I go here frequently. I get all my pet food and litter (wood pellet bedding) from them. Prices are awesome and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.

Pet and farm and feed supply. Gifts hobby and other items. A must check every time I'm close. My cat loves the non clay kitty litters.

What species of birds are keped in the back of buckerfields in Nanaimo? I've walked past there for years and I always hear birds crying in the back of the store, they sound Injured or like they are being abused, I think someone should call the Spca or something cause I don't like the sounds of these birds in distress

Staff is always unfriendly - I have been a customer there for years, but will now stop shopping there.

B.is a garden friend's paradise. Pretty crowded due to so much choices of merchandise. I find it a bit expensive, but what isn't nowadays?

As an owner of a small farm, we buy most of our feed grains there. The staff are great and are always willing to help with your farm, garden or pet needs. They also have a selection of work tools. Shovels, rakes, axes etc. Wild birds supplies as well.

Love this store and love that my puppy is welcome there. They have a great supply of treats and food for my pup. Also love plant shopping here

The only place I find zignature food the kangaroo kind. Fantastic for my dog with allergies! They have a buyer's program which after a certain amount gives you a free bag. Also the only place that sells Tabasco Dark Chocolate! Sooo good! The staff is pleasant and helpful. I live north of Nanaimo but still make the trip because they don't have a location in the north end.

I come here for Main and Tail as well as bird seed year round and gardening supplies come spring. Great store.
