Traveled to YVR, Car was ready for pick up, friendly service, good value. Drop off was smooth. Over all a great experience. Would definitely recommend Budget car rental.

Got a rental at Budget at the Vancouver airport after Dollar Thrifty tried to rip me off. Budget's employee gave me a nice clean white Corolla for cheap with a flexible return time. They didn't pressure me to get insurance either. I was a half hour late to return the car and the employee at dropoff said it was fine. Great experience!

Picked up car 22minutes early. Charged $150 for an early pick up.
Had to waste nearly an hour getting the ridiculous charge removed.
In addition to that their website only displays complete charges at the end, given the illusion of a cheaper price.

Easy to make the online reservation at good price, vehicle was ready and clean upon arrival. Staffs at pick up and drop off were efficient, professional and pleasant.
I got a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross by selecting Compact via my Air Miles offers.

The discount they had promised to give got cancelled when we arrived there and instead they offered a quite high price compared to other companies. We had no choice but had to take it as no cars were available to Nationals / Aramo. One of the rear tire had an issue there and had to add air on the first day: (. They never answer calls and had to call their road assistance, which transferred me to different departments one after another. I had to take a chance to go back to the airport to swap the cars. Luckily they had 150 cars in stock although they had told me that they had only one car available when I originally picked up the car and gave me one with a defect and a high price: (. Will never go with Budget / Avis - they are the same companies.

It was good experience to rent from Budget. I booked and paid online. There was some discount also available for first time booking. The LDW is mostly covered by premium credit cards. Make sure to check it before you spend big amount on it.

My United Airlines flight got delayed 3x out of LAX to YVR (Vancouver, BC) on 6/29/2023 and although I thought I would totally miss my rental car but was so happy and thankful that the office remained open when I was half hour late and they were supposed to close half an hour ago at 12: 30a.m. The Budget agent was extremely polite and efficient with my paperwork. Although I declined the extra rental car protection policy, he got on with the rest of the procedure and directed me to the parking space to pick up my car and do a self-inspection so I can get on my way ASAP. This was the fastest ever rental car pick-up experience I've ever had.

$1100 for a 4 day rental. BMW? NO! It was a Honda Kona a hadgeback when i clearly asked for a sedan. The guy did not even tell me about the extra charges juist insurance and and per day regular rental. Very very bad experience.

Procedure from booking, contract at the front desk, picking up the car and returning the car, everything very objective, fast and without complications. Satisfactory car options and new and no defective cars. I'm satisfied because I never had problems with Budget.

This was a very easy transaction. The pickup and return was easy and very smooth. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
And the car was well prepared and presented.

I will use Budget again if I return to Vancouver

Best rates for the timeline of my trip, it was however booked from a third party site as the budget website was giving the same car for 4x more expensive $$$$
It's absolutely ridiculous that to rent a car for a week is the same price or more of leasing a car for a month!

Location prise en avance sur internet. Prise du véhicule rapide et simple. Un peu d'attente pour sa restitution. Bémol concernant le rendu du plein qui était full (dépassait même la lettre F) mais pas selon l'employé qui m'a fait retourné à la pompe pour $ 5.ce qui nous a mis en retard pour clôturer la restitution.

I originally gave this location a poor rating because of a substandard substitute car and an outrageous late charge (full day for 2 hours late because I missed a ferry inbound) by a dispassionate customer service rep on the phone. But a local manager personally contacted me and worked out a very fair arrangement that, if it comes through, I am way happier about. So despite some ground level challenges, it’s nice to know that they are conscientious, professional and smart enough to address customer challenges one on one and quickly. Thanks Rome! I’ll use again.

Be careful! The minivan fleet is at least 2 years old and the Doge Caravans do not have some standard safety features such as blind spot systems or lane keeping systems. They are heavy driving cars. Also, be careful about check out mileage to insure that you don't get overcharged. I'm a Fast Break customer but was very disappointed by lack of cars etc.zThe staff though at the desk were great particulaarly Omar-the manager.

Waited 2hrs15minutes. Still waiting. Why is this acceptable as the norm. After asking, and waiting with a young child, no apology or anything was given. So, this is the norm for budget. Go somewhere else. Waste of a dat for us. If other busy places can figure this out in 10 minutes, why can’t an international airport in Canada also.

When I arrived at the counter, the gentleman was very aggressive and rude - he demanded to see proof of employment for discount - which no one carries when travelling for a single day. I told him to just charge me regular rate but he would not stop going on about it. When he finally did, he told me "I'll do the rental this time but next time if you don't have proof, you will be put on a Do Not Rent list". This is very rude and disrespectful behaviour as I said to just charge me regular rate. I've never had this terrible an experience with Budget or Avis at any other airport and will most likely just not rent through the company next time. Completely unacceptable.

My rental car was great and trouble-free once I got it. My issue was with the delivery upon my arrival. We were told that there were no cars available (on a Saturday at 1: 30pm!) and had to wait for over an hour to get our car.

I’ve used their rental service several times and always it was the cheapest price and higher quality for me. The cars are new, clean and in very good condition and I felt safe always. Highly recommend.

I was very stressed to have forgotten an important item inside the rental vehicle. The site supervisor was exceptional, upon finding out the vehicle had already been sent to cleaners, he immediately contact cleaners to bring their attention to the matter. When I further informed that the budget call center supervisor had told me earlier they had no way to directly contact the YVR supervisor, without hesitation I was provided the cell phone number of a YVR supervisor. This made me feel very reassured that I would have someone to contact.
When I subsequently contacted via text, my inquiry was promptly responded to and i was informed once the item had been safety given to lost and found. Being provided the name and contact info for the lost and found person also provides me greater level of comfort knowing it’s being taken care of. Thank you budget!

We recently rented a van at the Vancouver, BC airport. We were extremely pleased with the seamless service at both pick-up and drop-off. The vehicle was very clean. We will continue to rent vehicles from Budget. Their customer service is exemplary.

I was happy to arrive at the Vancouver airport and have the SUV waiting for me. Everything was in order. The drop off was amazingly smooth. Perfect signage to get into the airport drop off and I got out of the car and they immediately came over and checked it in. I was on my merry way without a care in the world. Thanks Budget!

The problems started when we tried to pick up the car. Their system was unable to process the security deposit. We spent 2 hours waiting at the counter. Only to find the car wasn't clean, reeked of smoke which was poorly disguised with a very strong perfume. Then, we realized the brakes had issues, and the tires were dangerously worn out. We tried contacting over the phone at least TEN times, and in each of them the call was disconnected when "transferred to the right department. " When we brought these issues up upon return, the explanation we received was that they weren't responsible to checking the brakes or the tires. They only check when a client makes a report like this - according to the front desk. Finally, when our bill was settled, we received several charges for more than CAD$1,500 without a clear explanation. Not recommended.

Checking my credit card I found they charged me for extra day, which is strange because I returned the car early. When I returned the car the attendant said everything is fine, I asked for a receipt which they would not give me because they were busy but again they assured me everything is fine. They never sent me any notice that they are charging me extra for extra day - had to find it in my credit card charges, and then spend 1 hr in chat's and on phone trying to rectify.

We paid $124 at the time of booking, very happy with our good deal but when we returned the car that evening, we received a bill for $380, we obviously returned the car with a full tank of gas and yet we were charged $170 for gas! The person who picked up the car said that we didn't need to provide the receipt (to better rip us off), we returned the keys and had to ask him to take us around the car to make sure that everything was in order! We had to fight for several days in order to be reimbursed the excess! Unacceptable to try to scam young French tourists

Was given a quote for an suv rental and ended up being quite a bit higher once returned. They gave an option to fill the vehicle with fuel upon return and was told it would be charged per litre. It ended up being a large flat fee. Tried to call customer service and would have had to sit on hold for an hour to sort it out. Don't use this company. Didn't expect to be scammed by such a large corporation.

Great vehicles offered at the luxury end of the spectrum. Fair to high price but worth it. Check in and return is efficient and not filled with invasive questioning.

They told me it will cost about $790 for 3days. We agreed with it
When we tried to return the vehicle, they tried to charge me $2700 more (total about $3490) thank god I checked my bank account. Went back to them and complained about this issue.
They didnt even apologize at all what so ever. Told me to wait few days and they will fix it.
Its fixed but what if i didnt check my account? What if i didnt have my paper work? Seriously do not even try to rent anything from here.

Ce sont des voleurs. Je n'ai pas fait attention à l'heure de prise du véhicule et de retour que le gars a mis dans le système. Il a mis l'heure théorique que je devais prendre le véhicule et non l'heure réelle, donc Budget m'a facturé une journée de plus pour une soit disant heure de retard.

Fasbreak line was not open but no sign to advice and clerks let us wait in the fasbreak line not telling us that nobody would be serve in this line. Result in a half of hour waiting. Really disappointing

They were very flexible and helpful with providing me information on alternative drop off location. The attendant I had was fair and didn't price gouge me on alternative drop off location. He provided a better vehicle and Budget allows both spouses to drive without an extra fee. Vehicle was clean and in great condition. All around great experience.

If you're really not looking for much in a rental company, then Budget is for you. Our latest experience has ensured it will be our last. Three things:
1. We had to wait 45 minutes in line to get to the counter (with a reservation).
2. After filling out the paperwork we then had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the keys to show up.
3. After driving away in the car I realized that the gas tank was only 2/3 full, so I now had to pay for gas I didn't use.

All in all, the experience really couldn't have been much worse.

DO NOT RENT A CAR AT BUDGET. I returned a car 10 minutes late. They changed me $150 more only for 10 minutes. I have never had this issue with another car rental company even though I was late. Other companies are very flexible.
I called the customer service and I had to fight for it, and I just got $100 back on my credit, but they didn’t reduce the $100 from payment, so I still had to pay tax on it.
I understand I was late, so I asked them if the $50 goes to customers who waited for our car became I saw so many customers were waiting for a long time in front of this company. I wished the money goes to those people. But they said the money goes to the company! Good for the company. The company do not care about customers. Just making money for the company. They don’t care if we wait for the car that we booked. They let us wait. And then, if we are late to bring a car back, they charge us a lot. They steal our money and time!
I will never rent a car at this company.

Easy pick up and drop off, reasonably priced car despite a current car-rental practice that seems determined to screw over the consumer in some kind of misguided attempt to make up for past revenue challenges (please don't do this, Budget!).

This is the worst rental place I have ever been too. There is one person at the desk. There are six people in line. The lines at all the other car rental places have been served and no one here. I will never rent another car at budget ever again. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I am extremely disappointed that I have stood on line for more than half an hour and still have not been served.

I was stuck in traffic while returning the car, and got delayed by an hour.so they charged extra CAD 88 (including tax), but i never faced similar problem with any other rentals.

Very friendly staff. Not pushy at all on additional add-ons. Car booked was not available, so was given a free upgrade to a higher class. Drop-off was easy. In and out in less than 5 minutes.

Booked a 15 day reservation several months in advance. Flight gets in late- when the counter is closed. They knew what flight I was on so the car must still be there. So I show up as the place opens the next morning and they find the car.only the price has gone up.how much? An extra TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!

I showed the agent my reservation and he said there is nothing he could do. Take it or leave it. I had seven people in my group and didn't want to start having to look at other car rental agencies on the first day of my vacation but I will never rent from Budget again.

I received excellent service, both picking up and dropping off my vehicle. Both times were extremely busy at the counter, but I was treated in a friendly manner, with courtesy, and with speed. There was a problem with the vehicle - the SiriusXM radio would not activate, and all of the staff there tried very hard to resolve the problem.
