After school special with crab bisque and Dos diablos sandwich never misses. All their food is good tbh.

Homey vibe paired with amazing eats that are good for the soul. The Beef Bourguignon is heavenly. Above all, the service was terrific. Personable staff that made you feel right at home. Will definitely go back.

Server was such a bird brain. She had like 5 tables. 2 tables got seated after us and got served before us. Teach the girl some basic customer service skills

Good food in general but the sandwiches can be greasy and the kale ceasar is really pathetic- it’s literally kale and dressing, no pizazz, not softened, nor does it contain croutons or anything making the price worth it. They could do better, don’t recommend it. Great service.

I have never written a review in my life but after dining here I felt compelled to write one. Long story short, do not come here unless you want to spend money on bad service and food.

We waited over an hour to get our food, when the restaurant was empty. For the first half hour, the server was no where to be found and we never got our water refilled.

When the food came, it was almost laughable. Food was cold, and the "smoked salmon" from the salad looked like dried up salmon jerky. It was barely edible.

We were all excited to leave but even getting the bill took forever. The price we paid was outrageous given the food and service we received. I have no idea why this place has such high ratings. This was probably the worst dining experience I had in my life. I honestly would have been happier getting McDonalds.

What do I say? I really do not know where to start. I normally visit here fairly regularly but recently I overheard heard the manager (Samona? Sp?) speaking to another employee like they were a total piece of garbage. It was the most abhorrent and disgusting behavior I've ever seen in a work place. If the employee reads this, you should consider doing something about it because it was VERY abusive and toxic and that is certainly an unsafe workplace environment for you. I am so sorry you had to endure this. Worksafe BC has a lot of resources for people in your position. You were lovely and surely can find a job in a safer environment. This business is in dire straits and needs immediate guidance and training for their management as soon as possible. I will never eat here again and implore anyone else who does to pay attention to the staff closely because this is not something I think anyone should support.

We ate here while visiting Vancouver in October. We were at the downtown location.
Food was excellent, staff very friendly and has a very cozy atmosphere
Limited capacity so make a reservation.

The neglect by the server was palpable: ‘Natassja’ attended adjacent table four times without checking in with us. Beef bourguinon: bacon overpowered the dish. Brussels sprouts: decent, heavy on bacon. Gooey grilled cheese: decent, paltry potato chips detracted from the dish. Free “house bread” (garlic butter baguette) pretty good. Service fail for a downtown restaurant on Saturday night.

Super impressed with the beef bourguignon and the chicken pot pie. Sour cherry cheesecake is divinely good. Very good staff and good vibes.

Excellent place to grab some lunch! I was strolling around the area and I came across this restaurant.
They have various sandwiches, sides, and starters to try. I’ve had the gooey cheese grilled sandwich and boy that is something! Definitely recommend!

Food is pretty good but honestly it’s not worth the price. Drinks are waaaay over priced. It shouldn’t cost almost 40$ to get a soup and sandwich.

This place is consistently good across locations I always get the after lunch special with either the cheesy dippers or el Cubano with the sunset chicken and corn soup. So good!

Called ahead at 6: 50 to order food for my break, as I work at the hospital across the street. Did not get my food till 7: 31, after my break ended. I'm kind of livid. The only upside is the sever was friendly and apologetic.

The staff was friendly. I tried the soup and sandwich combo. The tomato soup was delicious. The grilled cheese tasted good. It came with a side of chips and pickled vegetables. The mac n cheese tasted good too. But their cherry cheesecake was disappointing. It was more like a deconstructed cheesecake in a cup and the cream cheese was runny and had 3 cherries. I wasn't happy with the cheesecake.

After 3 weeks away from home, travelling around Canada, the beef bourguignon was the home style meal I really needed! Delicious flavours. A comfortable, casual atmosphere and friendly service

After a traumatic trip to StPauls I stopped in at this place across the street, was such a respite. Great service great food, best salad and shrimp I’ve ever had. Thank you.

Bought the soup/sandwich afterschool special which has increased in price to about $22. Quality has gone down. The sandwich (chicken) had very little protein and the soup was incredibly watered down and bland. There was no chunks of crab anymore. Disappointed. Overpriced and low value.

Delicious and friendly staff. Love the soups and macn cheese! A absolutely must.

The desserts are HORRIBLE. Definitely not made from scratch in house. Probably from costco and frozen.

Stopped in for an early dinner after work, on a Friday. Staff was great, food was wonderful, nice selection of wine. Especially liked the butternut squash soup special: so tasty on a cool day. Try the beef bourguignon.yum!

I went here for brunch and was blown away! The service was great and the food was ultimate comfort food. I had the corn soup and burgoo with a side of biscuits and everything worked so well together, like a symphony of hearty, country flavors. I still saved room for the chocolate bread pudding- which I INHALED and then proceeded to eat the other half of my friend’s as well. So yeah, I would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back and try more. The only slightly disappointing moment was the green tea I ordered that came in an individual plastic bag with a plastic teabag. I hope they can eliminate the unnecessary plastic soon, as there are so many alternatives for tea.

The service was excellent and the hot chocolate was something worth getting. However, the baby back ribs were bland and lacked any kind of flavors.

My first time in this place was over 40 years ago. Last time I was here it was a cocktail lounge. If it wasn't for a good friend of mine I may have never known this treasure was so near to my home. I had the mini mac n cheese to go. When I got it home and opened it. I was in awe of how thick the baked cheese was on top. The mac n the cheese all round was so awesome. I think there was some Chipotle in it. It not only warmed up my tastebuds. It went straight to my stomach. And that was the beginning of a festival of good food.

The experience of dining in this place is totally worth 5 stars! There is a beautiful interior that creates a chill setting. Excellent customer service and wonderful food quality. Will definitely come back for lunch or dinner:)

My boyfriend and I stayed in the area for a week and came to This restaurant almost every night. We loved the cocktails and the staff were so kind and cool. The French onion soup and chicken wings were incredible. Very warm and cozy vibe. Love this place

Contrary to what the name might suggest.there are NO BURGERS here. I repeat, there are NO BURGERS here. The service was decent but we found the food was underwhelming and overpriced.

Good comfort food place, but we recently got a takeout and my grilled cheese sandwich (gooey cheese grillées) was quite small and didn’t look appealing. This is also coming from a small person like me who eats little. I should have just made a regular grilled sandwich with toaster bread than paid $20 for this.

I placed a four-item order for Burgoo on UberEats at 6: 30pm. Not their fault that the delivery guy showed up at 7: 35, but when I got the food my soup and sandwich were still warm, and the ginger ale and dessert were still cold! Delicious crab bisque and El Cubano sandwich, and the cherry cheesecake is so yummy I almost teared up when I tasted it. Can’t wait to order from here again!

My wife and I recently moved to BC from Ontario and was told to try the food here. This place didn't disappoint. Our server, Joy, and the food was excellent! We're definitely going to try more items on the menu on our next dinner out.

Food is delish. Can’t imagine they’re able to serve good dish that quick. Hat’s off to Joy our server, he was the flash!

Staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome! The drinks are good (this time I had an eggnog latte) and the food is very tasty as well as always reliable!

Thanks to Rachel for making my lunch fantastic! Had the French Onion soup and it now has my #1 rank of all the FOS i've had acorss the country (tied with a little place in Quebec city). It was super hot, super tasty and full of cheese and onions. Ordered with Bistro salad which was a perfect paring. Only suggestion - maybe offer bacon on the FOS, since you put it on everything else) no pics to post as it was soo good, i forgot to take any.

I tried the Kentucky Burgoo and really enjoyed the bold flavour. Luckily, I had some sliced egg bread from T&T to eat alongside this stew.

Had a nice soup and salad for a very affordable price. The esthetic is also very nice.

Ordered a takeout from Uber Eats, food was 8/10 enjoyed the meal untill i bite into mac and cheese.
Mac and cheese were bland but still had enough flavour for me to continue eating, last couple bites i bite on something hard, I take the thing out of my mouth and i see a nail from someines finger.
I know it happens and all of that, sometimes tou find a haur or whatever but not a nail, someone was biting his nails over my food, just thinking about it makes it disgusting, thank you but i will not order again from this restaurant!

Love this Vancouver staple. It's always a great dining experience and the food and staff are always phenomenal. See you again soon

A group of us came here for some brunch before heading to the theatre. I've never been here before and a friend suggested we come here.

Overall, the food was excellent. It was surprisingly filling which was great. I also had their warm cider with rum which hit the spot during that rainy cold day.

Our server was great as well, we weren't able to get his name; but whoever you are, you were great!

Lately I’ve been getting take out and the servers are dismissive, slow and borderline rude when I got to pick-up.
A process that should take 20 seconds to pick up takes 5+ minutes (and my food has been sitting there ready the whole time).
I won’t be adding a tip for any of my pickup again if I ever go back.

You guys have to try this place you will have a wonderful time, food is delicious and all kind of drinks, the service is excellent, the people who works there are so friendly
I almost forgot to leave for my appointment because people there were so warm friendly.

What I don’t understand is why they insist on over spicing their food.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a Burgoo.
Over a year ago- before COVID.
A different location than this one.
I order the French onion soup and they have put so much salt in it it literally burns my tongue. When I mention it to the waitress she simply says that’s how the chef likes it.
Salt is something that you add later to taste. You don’t dump a ton of the stuff in right from the beginning.

So a year goes by and I don’t go back to the place because of that. They have a great menu, and I like a lot of stuff on the menu, and so the other day the girlfriend and I were staying downtown and decided to go to the location on Burrard Street.

I had an order of the meatballs, and of the tomato soup.
Big surprise. I don’t know what it was if it was pepper, or if it was some kind of chili, but both the meatballs and the soup left my mouth burning from heat.
Honestly, I have never in my life eaten tomato soup or a plate of meatballs that left my mouth burning as much as these two dishes did.

Why somebody would prepare food this way, rather than just letting the person who ordered the food put a little bit of pepper in it if they wanted to, is beyond me.

Lesson learned. I’ll never go back again.

The food is good, tasty and sometimes way to spicy, service by the other hand they are unfriendly and when I pick up food Is never ready. Poor customer service.

I thought I was going to have some good food but it ended up worse than I could of ever thought I ordered Korean chicken wings and when I started to eat them they were luke warm.and same thing happened to my Mac and cheese I’m not sure how this could of happened but it did

Really bad. Ordered a prawn appetizer for 13.50 and it was loterally 5 small shrimp that jad been mutilated and hanging together by threads. Returned them got a refund. Also ordered the tastiest chicken sandwich and ot was one of the worst sandwiches I have had. Barely any chicken, the apples and cucumbers were sliced in huge thick pieces so just fell out of the sandwich the moment I picked it up. There was barely any chicken on the sandwich and it was bland a flavourless. My husband and I have been to the north van burgoo many times and the food has always been good. I had the same sandwich there many times and it was amazing. It seems like this location is the issue.

Friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, great food, large portions. Seated right away and served quickly. Definately coming back.

Enjoyed lunch here recently. I had the grilled cheese with tomato soup, it was amazing. Gets really busy at noon hour, line up for a table. Worth the wait!

The location on Burrard has the best service. Been there many times for the excellent food and atmosphere. Staff there are friendly and welcoming. Always nice to see them and catch-up.

We love the small country feel of these restaurants. Great briefs fondue. The cauliflower soup fantastic and gooey.

Good Canadian comfort food served well by friendly people. The first time at Burgoo I had a tasty, uniquely prepared pulled pork with a salad. On my next visit I thoroughly enjoyed a distinctive salmon sandwich with crab bisque soup.

Overpriced for mediocre food, they dont even freshly squeeze the orange juice and Shepard's pie was improperly cooked (peas were under) trust me I'm a chef

Absolutely phenomenal food served by a friendly and upbeat staff in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. I was in town for a business trip and a colleague recommended that I try Burgoo, and I'm so glad I did. I tried the Kentucky Burgoo and it's one of the best I've had. The warm Burgoo biscuits are a great complement as well, and the great local craft bears work well with their menu. Even though I'm only in town for a couple of days, I'm definitely planning on coming back!

Just ate an after school special! Grilled cheese was absolutely perfect, the tomato soup was the best I’ve ever had & our server made the overall experience even better she was polite, educated on the menu & very efficient

Cozy environment with friendly staff. The food was delightfully delicious! Interesting menu with a variety of choices for those picky eaters. The biscuits were worth stopping in for alone!

The staff may be friendly however the food has always been hit or miss. I would stay away from certain items on the menu using fresh uncooked tomatoes. The soups are really good yet their entrees are not the best. If you're craving a soup, this is the place to be. If not, I would recommend going somewhere else.

Always have dessert before dinner if you can. Had an amazing upsidedown cheesecake. Great crumble with sugar crust. Highly recommend. Also the beef bourguignon is 100% worth it. They serve with sweet mini pickles and this stellar mash. The grilled cheese is pretty good but I paid for extra toppings and didn't get any! The ratatouille isn't bad but it's not my favorite. Their kale caeser I would recommend for sure.

When in need of comfort food.this is the place to go and leave not feeling like you have stuffed yourself. Delicious food with great portion sizes! The Brie Fondue was delicious with a garlic flavor that didn't overpower the light cheese.

Great food and the seating is pretty cozy. Can be pretty busy so make sure to arrive a bit early to catch a spot.

Lunch for 5 on a rainy Tuesday morning. Great choice off of an eclectic menu, something for everyone and all of it good. I had the boeuf Bourgogne, I have had better, but it was pretty good. A favourite lunch place for my sister. The acoustics should be altered as the noise level was high.

Had an amazing meal and the best service at this Burgoo location today. " Many thanks to Amanda for being so gracious and welcoming. The Beef Bourguignon with a glass of the house red was top drawer all the way! Yummy!

Not exactly a five star restaurant, but close enough food wise, and fairly decent proceed for the quality. Service was on point.

This place is great!
It’s great to have a drink with friends, have afternoon tea with desserts or have a nice dinner.
I recommend trying the soups and the sandwiches, specially - grilled cheese ;)
Really nice desserts like the banana-chocolate pudding!
