I've used the depo many times. It is quick, easy, and painless. The staff even make it a pleasure.

This place is super convenient and for "city workers" the staff is actually pleasant and less entitled

Great place to drop off extra recycling. Well organized and wide range of materials they accept.

Very clean, organized and well sign posted with helpful staff. This is one of the places I can really rely on to safely and responsibly recycle propane Gas canisters after BBQ season.

Today I had a great experience. I needed help disposing of my used paint and mixed chemicals! Liam was the nice young man that helped me and made the job so much easier for me as I have a hard time lifting! Thank you again

Open 7 days a week so easy to find time to drop off. Bins are clearly marked so it’s not hard to figure out where things go.

The staff at this depot are super. My husband has difficulty walking and they always willingly offer to assist him. The facility is always clean and pleasant.

First time going here and having no idea what to do with my mountain of recycling. Grag was a huge help with sorting and guiding me where to put everything. Made it quick and easy! Will be going weekly so I don’t pile up again.

Came here after talking to the City for a replacement recycling bin and bag. They told me to pick up directly from the recycling centre. Showed up at 3: 45pm on a Wednesday afternoon and asked a site representative for an extra bag and crate. Her response was so terribly bad I could not resist sharing…

“I’m sorry, it’s almost 4: 00pm. We close at 4: 00pm and because it’s almost 4: 00pm I cannot give you the items. Come back tomorrow. ”

At this point I should not that I selected this fine individual to engage with because, at the time, she was aimlessly pacing around the aisle presumably waiting for her shift to end. Shockingly, she must have been suffering from immense physical and mental fatigue and could not comprehend one more request that day.

Unfortunately this also meant that any sort of creative problem solving was out of the question…include taking 10 steps over to the pile of bins and bags and pulling one item off each pile.

I left empty handed.

I would give this place 5 stars all day long if it were not for the continual bad experience I have with one of the employees who has a massive chip on his shoulders. He seems to be more about letting you know he's "the boss" than actually showing that he wants to help or assist. Honestly I think the place it self and all employees with the exception of this one, are great. I dread going there now. I don't want to have to deal with or even see this person. I avoid him. He's just been rude everytime. When I've asked for any kind of help, the response is disingenuous. I just go out of my way to ask someone else who have always been awesome. But because of this one guy. 5 stars has to be 2 for now.

Burnaby Eco centre is great. There are even staff there to ask questions to! It's slightly unfortunate that electronic recycling and bottles have to go to a different location, but I think it is about 3 minutes away, so quite doable!

Very clean. Great signage. Lots of stream options. Attendant was very helpful, positive and efficient. Lots of parking. Easy to get around in a larger vehicle. Organized and well run facility. Would suggest adding formal residential organics drop off to the stream options and perhaps signage suggesting where one could drop off waste items that aren’t accepted at the facility (nearest landfill, etc).

Great to be able to drop off all your recyclables, especially those items that aren't accepted in the blue bins at home like soft plastics, hard plastics, metal, batteries, paint, motor oil, etc. Saves it all being dumped in the garbage or elsewhere.
Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Great spot to safely get rid of waste to the right places, but 4pm is basically useless to anyone who works regular hours.

The Centre is great. What i can't believe is that there is no bus stop nearby. The walk from the nearest bus stop (in my case that's 17 min one way) with a load of recyclables is likely discouraging for people who don't own a car, but would take the bus. I walked there last year, in the heat of summer, and i thought never again! My bottle depot has not accepted styrofoam trays and soft plastic for almost a year now so I went again yesterday. If you agree and care, please contact Transit.i will do the same.

They take almost anything you think is recyclable. Take your used motor oil and filters, anti freeze all in place!

The wide centre is kept clean and clutter-free with staff frequently passing around in all areas to provide information and assist in sorting out all the different materials. Unfortunately, lightweight bulbs are not recycled here.

Like much of what Burnaby does, this operation is efficient and professional. Had to drop off some used motor oil and everything went very smoothly and easy.

Thank you Ken and management for inspiring such great work ethic and customer service. Always professional and very helpful but that alone would not have made me take the time to write a positive review. Ken stands out as a worker and a human being. You cant teach someone to take pride and effort in their work. As an owner myself, this is the kind of employee we are always in search of. Thanks to the Burnaby transfer station and Ken for making my weekly experience pleasurable and not just tolerable.

Great staff and very organized facility. Amazing place to easily drop off and extend your efforts of recycling.

Very convenient for dropping off green waste from garden one truck load per day no charge (provided not too heavy to exceed daily free limit) as a Burnaby resident. Minimal wait to enter the green waste part of facility.
