Idc about the service or anything like that. 5 stars because this is one of the only thrift stores that still keep affordable pricing and rarely anything in here is overpriced. It seems like a lot of people have forgotten the purpose of thrift stores these days.

Prices are amazing and like any thriftstore, you search and you will find!
Books, clothes, electronics, knickknacks, all kinds of things.
Proceeds help the Burnaby Hospice Society. It's a great place
20 February 2023 13:30
Low key good spot to check out. They also have random 50% off sale days - would be nice if the sales were posted online so one can know before hand, but it's fun to show and see what category of items might be on sale
07 February 2023 21:53
They have a nice store. You need to invest time to find some treasures. Smell good. Good customer service.

Amazing store.

Well run, very clean. Great prices.
I bring my 4 year old here to look at toys and always find some interesting.

Store has a lot of very interesting stuff. It’s my favourite thrift out of all the local ones I been too.

I really enjoy their selection. Also their pricing is great, much better than other stores.

A+! Hidden gem imo

Staff not trained on cash or procedures. Rude clients and workers. No changing room. Overpriced for low-quality and extremely used items. Paid for delivery, had to pick up items ourselves anyway. No communication about it either.
01 August 2022 12:30
There isn't a change room. They will give store credit if something purchased does not fit. Good bargains to be had, though, and friendly volunteers.
29 July 2022 7:33
The first phase of a remodel is now almost complete. The shop is far more open and inviting. Phase two will be the upstairs area. Looking forward to when that part is opened.
I dropped off a donation of mostly clothing. A volunteer was very helpful in assisting me. Be sure to check out their website for the days and hours donations are accepted.
22 June 2022 5:40
The sign out back says they are open on Wednesdays till 6: 30. But they aren’t. Also the staff are rude and seem annoyed at having donations. This is the point after all. There are more appreciative locations that accept donations.
29 May 2022 17:52
This thrift store is a little pricey. But all in all Its a good store. I have found many treasures and it’s close to where I live. Please open your change room after April 8th, please, please, please!
08 April 2022 10:39
Good book selection, decent prices. Good sales. Very clean store, some pricing is a bit high, but then there's always some low pricing. Almost as if it's done by two totally different people lol.

Pretty much the only bad thing are the people that donate after hours. Leaving their stuff out back to get rained on, or rummaged through and destroyed. It attracts unwanted attention too.

All those donations get thrown in the garbage, for safety reasons they can't accept it. So, STOP IT.

Please Respect the policies of the store, donate in proper hours only. Or go throw your stuff out yourself.

It's not cool to dump stuff on a hospice thrift store, that have great volunteers (HI HOW ARE YOU), that have to pay to have their trash bin emptied too often because you're too selfish to leave your donations when they're open. And you know it's wrong but still do it. /endrant

Otherwise please support this great little thrift shop. Pretty sure they have a membership where you get a discount, but I'm happy to pay full price.

Over priced for a thrift shop way overpriced other then that they are alrite staff is younger so if they are pricing that would explain things
05 March 2022 22:05
So.as a Thrift store, it is well arranged, and has space to move about. The store is well stocked with all the basics, plus things of special and luxury types.
Price can be a bit high for most items, but good deals are findable.
Customer service is not exceptional, but for - I believe - mostly volunteers, it's clean and generally friendly.
We will return, now and then.

This was quite a gem. There's some really great quality finds here, especially in the clothing section. The nicer clothes were more expensive than I usually expect from a thrift store ($25-$35 for the best items I found), but I think it was still worth the price for the quality, condition and style of those clothes. The staff were very nice too - there was one staff member who went around telling everyone how nice they were and greeted every single person.
01 December 2021 14:42
Before I enter the store, there's a young white girl exit.her eyes are frightened.idk what happen on her.when I open the door, I see a mid aged lady ask me 'how old are you,? ' I wear mask and idk why she is angry and ask me stupid question.not sure if she is a stuff or a client.she make me nervous and I don't want to take risk to shop here.
24 November 2021 9:58
High end thrift store. Used to be reasonable prices a few years back now might as well buy new!
19 April 2021 4:23
I've enjoyed the deals I've been finding here for years. Today, I had the (non sarcastically, fyi. I genuinely mean this) pleasure of being greeted by a volunteer of the best abilities of all. The ones that make me smile, change my pace and state of mind to one where I will be receptive to the myriad of important lessons we can learn. I used to manage residences for adults with abilities that taught me lessons that gave me resilience and the will to push forward during a grave personal crisis.

This individual was probably.in my books, by nature of how they noticed everyone and greeted all without fail while still working. Likely one of the most effective employees they'll have. It's refreshing to see as it feels like all I see are the monotony of the typical normative ability set.

Any place that can harness someone's essence and fit it to business like they do, deserves business. And for a grand cause too.

Maybe the wrong place to bring up this topic but just like online internet shopping has impacted retail brick and mortar, so too has online 2nd hand taken away from thrift stores.
03 March 2021 4:41
They used to be better they were a little cheaper than they are now but I guess everybody's raising prices to make up for the coronavirus lockdowns
02 January 2021 1:55
I volunteered here over the summer and it was an outstanding experience. The owners are incredibly understanding and kind, and work incredibly hard to make sure that everything runs smoothly within the store. 10/10 would definitely volunteer here again.
10 December 2020 23:41
I have found many cute things here! Their prices are very affordable and the shop is well organized. Lot of good sales! The staff are very diligent and polite. If you are donating make sure you call first and double check if they're taking anything that day!
15 October 2020 19:45
The worst and such a hell customer service. The very unprofessional individual there. Once I have been there and that would be the last forever. One of their personnel, she was a short Asian Lady and she was the rudest and uneducated.
20 March 2020 4:27
Great place to drop off clothing and any items you don't need. Also a good place to find items.
17 March 2020 11:29
A well-lit, pleasantly organized and uncluttered thrift store run by friendly and helpful volunteers. Items are clean with electric items mostly checked to work. Posts of their weekly specials can be found on their Facebook page. While the furniture section on the second floor is only accessible by stairs, delivery (at a cost) is available. Donation drop-offs at the rear of the store are usually accepted in the mornings, or only until they fill up, but dumping is not allowed. Plentiful parking available at front, side and rear.
21 February 2020 17:49
Reasonably priced, second hand goods. Decent inventory turnover rate. Friendly, volunteer staff. Great 50% off sales that focus on a different department each week. Convenient parking. THANKS!
13 October 2019 0:53
Very expensive ticket prices with a 50% sale that puts them at still above average thrift store prices.
31 July 2019 3:51
Sad to see that the store has forgotten why they ar there. Fund raiser yes but helping the majority of their customers NO. They are overpriced thanks to the Internet.
16 July 2019 23:28
They had 50% off clothing when I visited, but the regular prices are amazingly high for used clothes, even higher than value village. Their half price is still higher than other small thrift stores I have gone to.
29 June 2019 11:06
Won't go there again, pretty sure their prices went up you can buy brand new clothing in the stores for the same price as here!
18 June 2019 9:14
Good shopping place for middle and lower income group useful shop for daily utility products situated on main road, easy to access, some car parking also available on Roadside
03 June 2019 16:46
I used to love coming here. After VV closed down they decided to hike their prices, would rather just buy my clothes at the mall brand new than burn a hole in my pocket buying 2nd hand clothing.
17 May 2019 12:29
The 2 teenage volunteers are really nice and their selection of clothes is decent. They two saturdays I've been here, they had 50% off clothing and more, my friend found a REALLY NICE hoodie for $2.50 and I found adidas white gazelles for $12! The only thing is that in the fitting area, they don't have any mirrors inside stalls so after every try on, you have to go out and look in the single mirror on the wall. Very good deals and prices!
07 May 2019 1:44
Prices have gone up in the past year - but there are still some good finds. It's great when they have 50% off all clothing or shoes.
30 April 2019 16:21
I used to go to this store (I will refer as BHS) regularly until the fall of 2018.   Their vintage houseware/ collectable items have gone up significantly hence I have not bothered with those items anymore. However I still liked to browse through clothing & shoes occasionally as their prices were quite reasonable after their  50% discount, it beats the Value Villages' ridiculous price points (I have boycotted VV since last year)
Today I had time for a browse after being away for 5 months.   Upon arriving, I was happy to see 50% sale signs posted at the door.   However I found it strange that there were few people shopping compared to before.   After a while browsing and looking at the price tags, I began to understand why. I had one sticker shock after another!   They seemed to have changed their price strategy to $$$ range (-50%) for standard fast-cloth mall $ but USED Clothing.
One example is a thin [Uniqlo] summer shirt/dress priced at $50.   Really? Even after 50% discount the price is still far is too high for USED DONATED clothing. Simple T-shirts in obvious worn/ used condition were priced $14-16 and above. A no-name Purse with inside tag marked PV (Not leather) was priced at $25.   I didn't think it would be possible, but BHS has surpassed the VV Price points
After browsing the store for an hour, I also achieved the impossible for the 1st time in my life: I walked out of a thrift shop with $0 purchase! So Sad.
To be fair, BHS does deserve 2 Stars for their very pleasant staff, organized and clean space.
I shall stay away for a couple of months, I do hope to see improvements next time I visit.
(Note to the owner: I have mentioned the above (calmly) to 2 staff if you would like to get more details for assessment)
23 March 2019 0:39
Great thrift store and they often have 50% off sales and even 75% off! Things are priced well except for clothing and the odd video game or console they come across (they seem to think that cuz it's old it's worth lots) But like I said they often have sales so even if the clothes are way over priced you can still get a deal when it's on sale
23 February 2019 7:21
Refused to take my donations. Without checking what it is. Their website didn't say they won't take donations that day and I walked a good distance to get there. I'm going to give my donations somewhere else, where it is appreciated.
29 January 2019 9:32
When I started shopping at this thrift hospice a couple of years back, I was impressed with the pricing as well as the volunteers, with great attitudes.
However I have seen a real spike in the prices in this store which I refuse to pay! The donations are so ridiculously overpriced, and these are not vintage or retro pieces, these ridiculous prices are for polyester 'cheap wear' size XXL and not 'chic wear' (so save your time) and keep driving right by the place.
My question is, why are they over charging as if their goods were vintage chic, for clothing that my 84 year old Mother would call dowdy and cheap!
I have one last comment to add to one more issue with this 'non-profit' (Lol) 'all for profit' money making society and that is this. I do appreciate the fact that they have volunteers rather then paid staff assisting customers, but the majority of these people are rude, difficult to reason with and have no sense with price adjusting for customers spending large in their store. So now you lose the business of this shop-o-holic! So Bye Bye and not to be confused with Buy Buy for this store.
28 January 2019 17:07
I like it because they have most of the things that i need also the items outside are 50-70% off.
