Very modern little building and good equipment. Too noisy. Way too noisy. No quiet study area. The windows bring in the sun directly into the eyes and there is no curtain.

I find more science and history books in the children's section than in the 'adult section'

This is a relatively small library so the books selection is limited, but you can appreciate that it’s always clean and has tons of computer and printer you can use.
Although I’m not sure why the kids section takes up most of it so it’s always crowded with loud kids, because of the distracting noises I wouldn’t recommend going there to study. There are also not many tables so it’s always taken by other people and the library closes way too early.
I only come to this library to pick up books and print stuff, I’d recommend giving the cafe right beside it a visit if you’re looking to get work or studying down!

Staff were extremely helpful! I learned all about ebooks and audible books and how to reserve. They were very patient! I learned a few new things!

The library should be quite but this one is too noisy. Children are crying or running and making noise most of the time. I really can not study and focus on what I am doing.

Nice place and nice people. Books are much less than metrotown location and has no self check-out system.

It's a library, what more is there to review? It's clean and modern, I just don't your typical "keep your noise down" rules in these places.

Right now in June 2021 you are only able to stay in the library for 45 minutes! They aren't changing anything for upcoming worst heatwave Burnaby's ever seen. I've been here many times over the past 13 years and it is a well run library. It's small but nowadays you can do much of your searching and placing of orders online.

Today I came Douglas library to study, i felt depressed at home but they don’t allow any one to have set, idk what’s benefit of library in Vancouver at bad circumstances.

Now Library drop in box only, and computer/copy/other including Street parking only 15 mins Total Time Allowed.
At least, it's open.
I believe same applies for all locations.

Great helpful staff and well set up. They went well over my expectations. I highly recommend this branch. Please be kind to them and they will be kind to you.

I always have the best experience with staff in library. Well organized library. Please find a way to reopen adult events and programs. Thank you.

Awesome books, modern space. They have lots of giveaways for children and teenagers, so stay posted for that if your interested. This branch is a really good holds pick up centre for southeast Burnaby residents.

I order takeout here regularly, about twice a week. They have some of the best breadsticks in town, right next to little Caesar’s. I would give it 5 stars but the waitress always forgets to put ketchup on my plate even though I specifically asked for it.

Although this library is small, there are many books. Close to my house, too few parking spaces, too late to open on Sunday, hope to change in the future

Tommy Douglas Library is an excellent library. It has a modern, contemporary look to it, though the washrooms are a bit smelly and the computers are kind of slow.
Other than that, this library is perfect.

Nice library. They have a pretty good selection of books for kids. Not the biggest library out there, but nothing really compares to the Metrotown branch in Burnaby. Staff are friendly. Some unsavoury characters hang around this library sometimes (docking a point off the review for that, but it's not the library's fault, that's just because of the neighbourhood it's in). Parking is tough sometimes on a busy afternoon. Not many spaces below and spaces are a bit tight. They do hold some neat activities every now and again (for kids and adults), so look at the notice boards for upcoming events.

Professional staff. Good Wifi connection
There is the occasional tough customer due to the neighbourhood, but overall the clientele is well-behaved and you and your family can enjoy the library in peace

No words per minute requirement for the staff. Very unintelligent. Sitting there pecking on keyboard at 5 words per minute with a line up
