Buy-Low Foods

This used to be an amazing grocery store with International groceries, Friendly staff, willing who were to help and eager to bring in speciality and International items. This all changed when Jimmy Patterson bought it, changed the supply chain and most of the fabulous and amazing staff (who had worked there for years) left. It is truly disappointing now.

Bro i don't understand this place. Every item in this store costs more than it does at any other grocery store chain. It's more expensive than save-on on their own western family brand products, more expensive than freshco on generic stuff, way more than superstore on everything. Unless you live directly across from it there's literally no reason to shop here vs anywhere else.

8 customers in line, one cashier who couldn’t go slower if she tried and a bunch of other employees walking around looking like they are dazed and confused. Seems like the people who work here are sleeping awake

Just your friendly neighbourhood grocery store. Prices are probably the highest in all of vernon.

Just have to say our cashier was just the sweetest. I didn't have any pressing needs, but she was just so pleasant and lovely and definitely would drive all the extra way just for that! Also the younger guy stocking the shelves was just so pleasant and friendly and helpful.:)

I go here often as it’s the closest grocery store to my house. They have a decent selection, but be EXTRA diligent when checking expiry dates. I think they must buy products close to expiration from other places then mark them up. I have had to throw out countless items due to them being spoiled (partly my own fault, but when buying chicken you expect if you’re cooking it the next day it should be good still). I just purchased some thighs on December 14th with plans of cooking today (the 15th). Opened the pack and could smell the bad odor…. Expired December 12th. Have also had infested lettuce and other vegetables… Just be careful and inspect your food a little more thorough.

Jimmi the manager was awesome and helpful I had called she checked to see if there was a certain product and there was so she put a number of them aside for in her office that I could pick up the following day which I greatly appreciate it! Thanks Jimmi.

Good prices are what you’ll find at Buy-Low Food along with great, fresh produce and so much more.

Everything was extremely expensive it was like I was shopping at a 7/11. Produce was ridiculous for the wilted remnants of yard waste called produce. Deli meats were outrageous so I had to go to the cheap stuff. Wow. Even that was crazy high.

Staff was very friendly and courteous

Seems to have more fresh and local produce than the big 3. Priced generally competitive with Safeway/Saveon, so the name is a bit of a misnomer. Smaller store so less selection overall; sometimes that is a good thing. Good service and atmosphere. Convenient for those living or visiting in the South Vernon area.

Too expensive don't go there I don't pay double it can close down don't care Don't even deserve one star but I guess I'm forced to do that

Nice local grocery store. Has everything I need and makes some really good sandwiches, chicken and more for lunch. Only thing I'd like to see is better prices more in line with other grocery stores.

It's a neighborhood grocery store. Of course prices will be higher than Superstore and Wal-Mart. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded to try and shop during peak times as it isn't the biggest store.

It's the perfect neighborhood grocery store with very consistent hours (8am-9pm daily and only closed on Christmas Day).

Staff is always super friendly. I was in here for the first time since I moved and was able to pick up random OTC medicine and a couple snacks and I was good to go. The deli has expanded over the years which is nice to see.

Friendly staff and it is rare to find a store at which they never seem to be out of a needed food item or product. Good selection of international products as well.

The MOST EXPENSIVE supermarket in town by far.
The name is a complete lie. It tricks you to believe is going to be cheap where as the reality is that some items are up to DOUBLE the prices of other super markets. I didn't find a dying lik e item tbat was cheaper than my normal purchases. Bread milk fruit vegetable. Not One on tbing.

Save your money and go else where

We were in a MEGA RUSH today and we ran in to buy stuff, and the cashier this evening was SO FAST. She recognized our rush and got us change and everything at record breaking pace. That is prime customer service!

Always an awesome experience and love the staff and how they have it set up for social distancing and arrows and it is just amazing thank you Buy Low foods.

Good selection of harder to find sauces, spices, British foods, and various other items you won't find at the other chain grocery stores. The only thing denying the 5 star rating is that they are pricey on non sale items so shop when the sales are on.

Though expensive but they sold their special muffins means who were to expire day after tomorrow In I was in rush so picked up quickly for my kids. They sold on.regular price but when.my kids ate them they were already bad in taste so discarded it was very disappointing

Iits like walking into a friendly neighborhood gourmet food store without the foofah, law de daw.

Like their meat and deli sandwiches but I can't agree on their logo. "low low low prices" some of their items are pretty expensive, but you can find a few rare and neat items

Excellent friendly and very helpful staff great prices best meat in town as far as I'm concerned it's my go to grocery store the best by a country mile

The store itself and the staff are fine but the prices are way too high! (That is why everyone calls it Buy high instead of Buy Low! Lol!)

Great food choice. And bakery items. Produce is usually always fresh and delicious. I love the new weekly sales and specials. Especially this week for Ben and Jerry ice cream.

It's a short walk from my house so I've gotten to know the staff pretty well. They're all friendly and great conversationalists. They have an amazing drink selection and a lot of interesting and local vegetarian options. My only complaint is the avocado prices are wack.

My go-to food store on the way home. Conveniently located. Standard fair of offerings, average prices.

Funky little grocery store. Good prices. Surprisingly good selection across the board and an amazing deli corner. Plus they have a speciality of keeping British brands. So if you crave an Iron Bru this is the place.

This store is so crowded and overbearing. They don't have enough space to work with and it really shows, it just feels old and run down so I don't really like coming here. Everybody working here was really pleasant which is nice.

Consistently one of the best selections of largely local produce and meats. Daily, in store specials.

Found prices to be quite a bit higher than the larger supermarket's around town. Have heard they have an excellent selection of meat with good prices

Store is clean. Food is good quality. Teens only working at night. Very expensive. No low prices. Cashier was rude. Lots oflocal foods but prices were cery high
