C-Lovers Fish & Chips

Ordered from C-lovers for 6 years now and this was our first bad experience!

Ordered takeout special for my mom birthday, Picked it up and got home to find the fish dripping grease (Ok its fish n chips it happens) and then when we unwrapped we found the fish was burnt and super dark colored. Being hungry we thought ok whatever, it might be ok and we ate.

This turned out to of been a mistake, I don't know if they refried leftover fish for us or what happened but every single one of us the next day ended up glued to the toilet with stomach issues. We contacted the store and talked to the manager who basically didn't care and asked if we had gone to the Doctor to prove it was the fish! This was a total shock and then things got better when he asked for our order info (Which we provided) and he said he would "Make sure we ordered it from them and send us a $30 gift card"

Honestly we where shocked with the customer service and how how little they seem to care about customers. (Must be new ownership?)

Will not return, which is a shame as we love fish n chips!

Theresa always brings a smile to the table along with delicious lunch. We loved the Prawns.

The fish tasted bland compared to the last time I ate there. The clam chowder was very fishy, tasting the prices are way too high. I can't recommend it

This place is always hoppin. They have plentiful staff which always makes the service super quick.

I ordered all-you-can-eat, and the waitress scolded me for removing the batter before calling the manager to force me to eat it! After reading other reviews, I verified that the fish is HEAVILY BATTERED and the waitress is RUDE. To avoid wasting money and ruining your dinner, you may visit alternative C-lover locations.

I love to come here and enjoy a Halibut or Haddock dinner, with the shrimp add on! Everything is so fresh & delicious. Service is A1

Had the all you can eat fish and chips, including bottomless soda for 19.99. The value was good. Service was good. However, the fish and fries were just lacking to other comparable fish an chips restaurants. The fish to batter ratio was advantage to the batter. Not to say the food was bad, but it was not great. If you want to stuff your self for value it's a great deal.

Overall a positive experience.

Went for dinner with my son. He is a big guy has a good appetite so we usually split the Ultimate platter.
It came not looking like what we usually get. I said to the we ordered the platter that usually comes with 6 onion rings.
She went said okay came back and lied saying the Ultimate platter comes with oysters.
She took the order wrong and rather that fix her mistake was left with something we did not order.

Very friendly place, dont let the outside deceive you its a big restaurant, a favorite of local seniors and for good reason, they are very busy and put out lots of quality fresh food

Went with my mom, staff was super polite. Food was very fresh. Had a very nice dinner highly recommend

Manager at this location is crazy and probably has roid rage issues. Horrible experience and yelled at. Other locations are more friendly.

Not able to go to C-Lovers often anymore: (I moved to Alberta.but I made a visit on Jan 1 2019 and as usual from my visits the last 20 or so yrs it was the same great meal. I sure do miss coming here best fish and chips in town for sure.

The chips are delicious and there's lots, one order is good for 2 people. I'm not sure if they changed suppliers but the fish is very thin slices and lots of batter. It was overcooked last time we had it. Chips are good.

All you can eat fish and chips, was very greasy with very little fish, all batter.
Would not go back again.

Wow, I love c-lovers, been loving them for years and they are just so good. What can I say. I'm getting hungry thinking about them

I was going to give a 5 star rating even though they did not include tartar, ketchup or Coleslaw. When you order the 2 piece dinners eat in you get tartar coleslaw and ketchup and this restaurant used to serve these condiments with takeout. When you spend $45.00 plus tip for two fish and chips meals you have certain expectations and we were disappointed by this. We had read the reviews because we had not ordered here since before the pandemic and most raved about the fish chips and coleslaw. It turns out they do not provide ketchup tartar or coleslaw with takeout. The Fish and chips were excellent but if your are a ketchup or tartar person that really sucks and we were both really looking forward to the coleslaw.

They would have received a 5 star review from me anyway because it could have been written off to a miscommunication or misunderstanding, if we had known we had to order the accompaniments for extra money we would have been ok with that but when trekked back to the restaurant for these accompaniment's the manager was COMPLETELY RUDE in his explanation, and that does not fly.

This is why the five star down to a three star, if he would choose to apologize for his inappropriate and unprofessional behavior I would chock it up to a bad day and rewrite this review. I see "rude manager" appearing elsewhere and I can absolutely believe it.

The ball is now in his court, we never look for discounts or freebies. Just respect.

C-Lovers best location. Always get the halibut with chips and they are the best of the best. There in house tarter sauce is fabulous and loaded with dill

This place is going to the dogs in recent years. There's no such thing as customer service. Good luck getting any kind of refill in a timely manner. This is particularly annoying because it's the main selling point on the all you can eat.tables are as greasy as the food.

Fries were awesome and their tartar sauce out of this world good. Fish is a hit and miss though.

Historically I love this place. The food is good, service is good, atmosphere is good. Would give 5 stars. However, recently my parents and I went in with my two little boys 4yo and 3yo, we were not greeted or thanked for coming as in the past, we planned on getting all you can eat as usual and share with the kids as we knew they wouldn't eat much (they ate maybe a piece each and a child's handful of fries) but we were told you can't share.ridiculous for family with little kids (so we couldn't get extra plates - they ate off our plates, you know, cause they are kids). I saw they had a kids menu of AYCE, but it would have been such a waste of money as the kids wouldn't have eaten it all or gotten seconds, and likely would have asked for ours anyway. I don't think any of us asked for any additional pieces or fries so they literally didn't lose out financially. We didn't find this family friendly at all. Really disappointed. Food tasted good as usual but the experience left a sour taste in our mouths. We will be choosing other, more family friendly restaurants in the future.

K people if you want good all you can eat fish and chips (and I'm sure other item s) then this the best place for tht don't hesitate in going there you won't be disappointed Al's very very clean staff are all happy and the customer's looked happy and full so the for price you can't bet it anyware16.95$ (ok edont hold me to that $ figure is something like that more than fair so if you're into some good old fish and chips you ought to head down there and feast okay take care

$0 for babies

Everything was fresh!
Order the large coleslaw helps add some variety from the deep-fried food.

Don't eat too much though.

The food is good but to have to pay to get tartar sauce with your fish and chips take out order is a bit silly, if you dine in you get it with your meal for free. Doesn't make sense lol

We had the ultimate platter, fries, shrimp, halibut, onion rings, and coleslaw.plus best mushy peas ever. Everything tasted great, crisp golden batter, tender shrimp.

Super friendly waitress. My boyfriend enjoyed the all you can eat fish more than our usual Cockney Kings. The chips were just as good too! Also their coffee was better than Cockney King's. We will definately be back.

Our first time indoors at a restaurant in 23 months. Great job with social distancing and verifying vaccine passport, everyone wearing masks. Food was great as always. Speedy and friendly service. Great price for all you can eat fish and chips. Thank you C-Lovers a great experience.

Great food. Fresh and tasty. The coleslaw is very good, a nice touch with the meal. Free refill on my friends soft drink. Fish and fresh cut fries were great and served hot. Practice social distance and check for vaccinations. Always a good meal and good service. Nice to see a smile.

Got 2 cod and chips.very good and a lot of it but rather pricey and they charged for the tarter sauce. I'd take cockney kings any day but they are rather far away.

I've in Langley city for 40 years now and gone to this restaurant lots but since the pandemic this restaurant is getting worse and worse but its not the waitresses they are friendly, nice and helpful. The owner however needs some training in customer service skills and have more patience he's very rude and mean when dealing with the customers not just me but others too. I will not go here anymore or recommend this c-lovers to anyone ty.

Extremely fast service. Had drinks and dinner within ten minutes of ordering.

I had the two piece haddock and chips. Quite delicious and not oily.

They serve good fishes. They are pretty quick with the orders too. They give four types of fishes, fries and onion rings. The food is good and we would go back to that place given a chance.

I spent 42.99 for the take-out special, amazing big packages. The fish and chips is really crispy, but taste so bad, i think the oil went bad.
My family won't come back to eat the one at Horseshoe bay CLover fish and Chips again.

Dang. 16.99 all you can eat.it was 15.99 when restaurants re-opened and only 13.99 pre-covid. Still remember when it was 11.99. Up 40% in the last few years it seems. They must be paying the radio commercial guy big bucks to have to keep changing the ad. Use to go every Wednesday. Maybe once every six months now, if that. Not worth it.

Love this place, fish I always fresh, not greasy at all, I go for the all you can eat with a beer deal.this place can't be beat. Fast and friendly service

Food and staff here are always excellent. My son has discovered that he loves fish and chips and the other day and he couldn't wait til we got home and ate half of his meal on the drive back!
My dad often times the meal just to see if they can beat the record he holds for speed. I believe 33 minutes from seated at the booth to paying is the fastest yet!

Excellent.the staff was very accommodating for my needs as I was lunching with my elderly mother in law which needed a tiny bit of special attention food was excellent

The food was fine but not great. The service was bad but I guess I just caught them on a bad day considering how highly regarded this place is. I like a good fish and chips now and then but this place just didn't do it for me.

I haven't been to C-Lovers in a long while and my experience was not good the halibut was fishy and the chips soggy. Overall I threw most of it away and will scratch C-LOVERS off my list of take out places.

The food is good, but they are extremely pricey. They are also the only fish and chips location that makes you pay extra for ANY tartar sauce when you do take out! Really?

Always great food go almost every week for the all u can eat plus the service is the best I have had anywhere the girls are great and the server I always ask for is Breanna she is terrific knows what I want is super polite and refills my beverage before it gets empty my kind of server give this girl a raise lol

Really good fish and chips, staff is super friendly. I used to live in burnaby so I used to go to cockney kings all the time, they are just as good if not better. Try the battered mushrooms, I would never have thought to eat something like that but they were tasty

Always great food. Quick to get seated and very seldom much of a wait for food. It's also reasonably priced for the amount of food you get! A typical 2 piece meal can often feed two people!

I don't like fish? I think? I never really cared for fish at all growing up. For Mother's Day we decided to get take out here. 10/10 they have absolutely amazing food and changed my mind on whether or not I like fish.

At 1 o'clock we pre-ordered for 6: 30 pm pickup. We had to wait outside 20 minutes to finally give our name then waited in the back for them to basically prepare our food. What is the point of ordering in advance?

We ordered by phone and were told to pick up in 25 minutes. We get there to have to line up outside in the rain and then once you wait to be let in they taken payment and start making your food. That’s not how pick up and phone I. Should work to minimize COVID exposure both in the lineup and inside with 8+ customers all waiting.

Cod & chips, Halibut and chips were great! Staff were ok but asked them to put one cod & one Halibut in each package, they didn't follow instructions 2 pc Halibut separately and 2 pc Cod separately. I delivered it to two seniors and they were disappointed that their orders were wrong! I gave them a good tip but they didn't follow my instructions, disappointed

As usual the food was absolutely delicious! The service was super. Our server was friendly and checked back enough times to be sure of the food quality and to be sure we weren't needed anything.but not so much that she was a bug.

This should be your first stop for food in Langley City. It makes you feel like you did when you went for dinner as a kid. The food is always on point and the service is top notch! The entire staff work together like a well oiled machine to provide the most pleasant and efficient service. Their a pleasure to watch. Their fryers are clean and the batter is SO crispy but light. I can't say enough good things about this location.

We did take out. Great food, covid compliance, on time. They have room for eating in. They do great fish and chips. If you are looking for good food this is a great option.

This fish & chips is on FaserHwy and 202 Street, in the old city center of Langley. This restaurant is large, clean and tidy, and has many parking spaces. The service is great, the food is yummy, The restaurant is clean.

Will never be back. The service was terrible. Waitress was unknowledgeable. Lied about products to the customer, argued. The kitchen and seating areas were greasy and grimy. Awful experience.

This place rocks for fish and fresh cut fries. The halibut is awsome, and the all you can eat is the best deal around.

First time here, and it’s awesome. Staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful with suggestions. I had a 2 piece cod. The fish was as good as it gets, right amount of batter and crispness. Fries were perfect for me. Tarter sauce in the bottle was nice, don’t see that very often. Will definitely return.

Best fish and chips you can find. A bit pricey, so it's more of a treat as opposed to regular occurrence.

Nice seating arrangements could be used as a family gathering in the back section. The back section has more heat than the front.ecyta points for cleanliness. The service felt very personal and quick. I want there with some one else and the were happy with the food and portions.

Our server was great, fish was nicely done, fries could've been cooked wee bit longer, and would've gi en 5 stars!

We had all you can eat fish and chips (Alaskan Pollock) and it was cooked well and tasty. They give you bottles of ketchup and tarter sauce which is nice. Included is bottom less pop and fries. If you crave fish and chips this is a good place to try.

Have been to the Langley location many times. Very fast and efficient staff. The fish coating is thin - just the way I like it! All good!

C-Lovers Fish & Chips, like the sign says best in town. For us it is the best in several towns and worth the drive. Variety, cod, haddock, halibut, salmon, oysters, and prawns, mushrooms and dill pickles all deep fried to perfection. You won't be disappointed.

The best fish and chips going. Not greasy with a light tempura style batter.
The menu consists of your standard fish and chip shop fare but made with care. Everything is fresh and generous portions.
The restaurant is licensed with some craft beer on tap.
Decore is very cosy and encourages you to relax. Service is quick without being rushed. All you can eat service is great without having to wait. Done well.

Queue out the door at the front and the back, still got our food in under 10min and it was great. Very generous portions.

We come here every year after our family gets their christmas tree. They have consistently good fish, my husband loves getting the all you can eat which is good value. Most of us are full after one plate. The restaurant isn't overly fancy but I don't think any good fish and chip shop is. I'd say the decor could use a refresh but we have had nice consistent service over the years and an enjoyable experience and have always been able to seat our group of 10.

Price was great for the place, they have a nice offer for all you can eat.

I think if you can tolerate deep fried foods you would really enjoy it. I cannot do had the Caesar salad which was just bland.

Great food, great staff, ordered the dinner for 2, definitely more than enough serving. Will be back again with my entire family next time.
