Cactus Club Cafe Byrne Road

Great service and good. Atmosphere is clean and fun but very loud in certain seats. Enjoy the food- had the hunter Chicken. A bit pricy though.

My first experience of the Byrne Road location a couple of months ago caused me to confidently choose it as the venue for a long-overdue reunion of 4 cousins and their spouses. Our server, Giulia, was absolutely delightful, patient, and capable; we were a distracted, exuberant group! The various burgers ordered were towering, and vanished to mere crumbs. My Med Bowl With Falafels was as appetizing to the eye and delicious to the palate as when I had ordered it on that previous occasion; obviously, consistency matters in this kitchen! That slice of layered chocolate cake, with cherry-drizzled vanilla ice cream on the side: Yike! Nonetheless, 2 of us polished it off; purring ensued. Beyond Giulia, our group was warmly welcomed by the desk staff when we arrived, and were acknowledged by other servers as we departed. Like Joe Ge declared in his review, Byrne Road Cactus Club is my go-to location.

I had a fantastic experience at cactus on Byrne last night, largely thanks to the exceptional service provided by Robby. He was not only nice and attentive but also went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. His check-ins made me feel better despite me missing my flight. Thanks Robby you’re awesome!

We come here regularly one of our favorite restaurant. We have our fav food which we order everytime we come. We have tried some dishes on their menu with our friends which are Avocado dip, zen roll (veggie), schezwan lettuce wrap (chicken and tofu both are very good), Ravioli + Prawn trio, truffle fries (we always order), The med bowl (falafel), Pesto Chicken Quesadilla and Thai green curry. In dessert we have tried chocolate lava cake and key lime pie (key lime pie was too lemony) we did not enjoy key lime pie much. However if you like strong lemon flavour in dessert, you can try it. We would recommend this restaurant their service is also wonderful.

Ooh la la.the Szechuan Chicken Lettuce Wraps and tenders were AMAZING! Danika was a fantastic server. We absolutely will return!

Bartender was great, but as with most chain restaurants, very busy. Nice place for a franchise place. The food on the other hand, was cooked to perfection, and I enjoyed it tremendously! Good job!

Tonight i bought 3 chicken tenders and i asked about more honey mustard sauce, but When I got home, I noticed that only 10% of the dishes contained sauce and the rest was empty

It was very good except for when they came and said well you can only stay for 2 hours and your times up and other people are waiting for your table that kind of sucked!

NO MORE CALAMARI! Never have I been this disappointed in my whole life. No warnings, no texts, no phone calls, no emails just ghosted by the squid. You can’t tell me squid can’t cross a flooded road. Whatever the reason is, I will not be eating at cactus again until they bring back Gods greatest gift, SQUID 4 LIFE

Always a great place to eat. Good crowd, super busy on weekends but consistent food and service.

We had a server for the second time - Rhoda - she was personable, remembered us and while we don’t go out much, it was nice to have such lovely service by her. She is a real gem xo

The girls are so nice and try to help you beyond boundaries.
I ordered food for pickup once and couldn’t get out of my car as I was 9months pregnant and was in a nightgown.
She dropped the order in my car and got the debit machine with her for order payment.

Loved the service and communication.

We came in at around 7.30. Attendant was not nice at all. Do many empty table but she kept saying I can give you a small table with chairs instead of booth.
However, our server Tuzel turned it around. She was professional, understanding and involved in helping us choose from menu. We will come back again and ask for tuzel as our server.

I have been dining here for many years with family and friends. Today was a special occasion, where one of my best friends who has been on deployment for the last 10 months makes a surprise visit and we come here to enjoy our most favorite appetizer, Calimari.only to find out it has been discontinued on the menu. Something on the lines of not being able to get the ingredients. What a total shock.

Our dining experience was fantastic thanks to Emma S. B's wonderful service. It was our first time eating out with the family since March 2019, especially with a 2-year old toddler with a dairy allergy. We had originally intended to share our rib dish with our son since he loves ribs. However, it has a bit too much spices so he didn't take it well. Luckily, Emma was able to accommodate this and we were able to get him a few skewered prawns from the kitchen. He enjoyed them immensely. When it was time for dessert, he ate all his dinner like a good boy but couldn't have anything on the menu due to his allergy. Once again, Emma came to the rescue. We inquired about some seasonal fruits but she had to check with the kitchen as she doesn't believe they can accommodate. Shortly thereafter, she came back with some strawberries and orange slices. They didn't have any seasonal fruits but she was creative enough to get some from the bartenders. Tonight's experience was definitely out of this world thanks to Emma S. B. We will definitely be coming back in the near future.

I often have lunch here with friends. Delicious food and good service. One of my favourite go to restaurants.

I go to this location minimum once a week and I can say I know almost all of the front staff. I have been served by Tuzel twice now and I have to say I am highly satisfied. She was very friendly and very helpful. I am definitely going to request her section every visit if possible. This location makes the best Cactus food and their service experience just got better with this new server! Definitely recommend!

It’s really big, so always get seating! Great for big parties, as thats when I’ve been there a few times, celebrating Christmas or whatever! Food 10/10 always!

There’s tons of parking and this location is central enough to meet up with people from the Vancouver/Burnaby area. It’s not fine dining but patrons seem to think it is, so it’s always busy (and loud) with dressed up teens.
During my most recent visit, the server was friendly and attentive. Chicken lettuce wraps are still delicioussss! We had a reservation but still had to wait - not sure if it was just disorganized though. There were FIVE hostesses at the front who didn’t seem to be communicating. One hostess told us to wait aside and another one (who eventually took us to the table) did not know what the reservation name was when she approached us.

We usually go to the Cactus every two weeks. We love to sit in the lounge generally. We went last night with Vaccine cards and everything went very smooth. Our food was terrific. We had the Salmon dinner, Steak and Lettuce Wraps. The last 3 visits we have had Rhoda as our server. She is so good, professional but can share a laugh. I know it’s tough these days on the restaurant business and shortages with staffing so I felt we should share our experience. The Cactus at Byrne Road is always are go to.

I live 5min by car to this place, how fortunate! My fav place in Burnaby, my happy hour with cactus club’s happy hour menu.

This place looks really nice and is cozy. The drinks are good and the menu offers a lot of variety. Although they should dust it more often as shown in the image

This was such a fun evening and the seating made us feel very comfortable as we were out on the patio, comfortably spaced apart.

We were here to celebrate a birthday and it was fun to sip some bubbly and toast the Birthday boy.

The salmon was delicious as were the prawns, and the steak was perfectly cooked. My dad really enjoyed the yam fries and I liked the sushi.

A nice touch with the staff singing happy birthday and a complimentary dessert made for a very pleasant end to a delicious meal.

Very loud & happening atmosphere. Good food excellent Service. Cozy seating & upbeat. Plenty of parkinh & open till late. Recommand you make reservations exspecially on weekends. The place is solid packed. We had gone on a week night yet had to waite close to 30 mins even with reservations. Beautiful Ladies bathroom. Almost apa like. Clean & large.

Cactus is a staple. A bit on the pricier side, but when you want to have a nice setting and vibe. If you want to enjoy good food or appies, can't go wrong with cactus.

Terrible to go service, got my order mixed up. When I finally got the correct order they didn’t even give me the sauce for my food.

Service was great, drinks were great, but the food was just okay compared to other Cactus Clubs.

Lettuce wraps were a very small portion vs other locations, calamari was undercooked, and the crispy tofu bowl was swimming in sauce.

Location is easy to find
Lots of available parking spaces
Servers are always rushing around
We have to pack 6 adults in tightly
Have to ask and wait for awhile to get the corrected services
Have a nice variety of drinks available
The food portion was just right
The Ceasar Salad come in flooding with dressings under a layer of Parmensa Cheese.

I was at the Byrne Road Cactus Club location last night and Karen was out server. She was very friendly and attentive with out table making sure our experience was top notch throughout the evening. I appreciated that she got to know us through conversation and with each pass she did we always had a laugh. She made sure our food and drinks came promptly and they everything tasted great!
Although this location is 20 minutes away from me and there is a closer CCC from my house, I would come back because I enjoyed Karen's service.

Came here last night for a birthday and engagement celebration for 2 of my girlfrends. We made a reservation and were thankful we did because it was busy for a Tuesday. We were served by Rhoda and her server in training. The service was great at first but as the night progressed we barely were served. We started at 7 and didn't leave till almost 9: 45pm, we only had 1 round of drinks and 1 round of shots and shared appies because we didn't feel like ordering anything else as we noticed how long the wait for everything has been. Our table was piling up with dirty dishes, empty drinks, empty water cups. Our server never came to fill it up, barely checked on us. We actually had to find her to ask for desserts for our 2 celebratory friends cause we were just sitting there for so long with a dirty table waiting for service. By the time we finished our desserts, we were all so thirsty a nobody has filled our waters since we first got there. For the prices, we expected better service. Little disappointed having to leave annoyed when it should have been a fun night.

This isn’t a review about the food or service BOTH the food and the service are exactly what I expect from cactus (5 stars)

this is solely about a specific manager (I won’t name publicly but will privately)

1. DONT talk down to the staff in front of customers

2. DONT tell us we’ve had noise complaints as we are paying (tell us before or if we’re paying - it’s over - don’t say anything out tab was $500 on a Monday afternoon)

also if we were being loud (def a possibility it was our friday) there’s a tactful way to bring it up, in fact two of us do it multiple times on our shifts!

Between us all we had two lifers 18+ each (I worked 6 years for cactus) years and the typical 3-5 years with everyone else — this manager is literally taking tips from their staff by being rude

we will be back - it just sucks when the person who’s supposed to be acting as a delegator and providing support is costing your servers money

The food is always top notch so delicious. I also had a waitress thats was great definitely would order the butternut squash ravioli

The food tasted good. Service was ok. At first arrival no one said hi. We basically stared at the gal who was looking at a tablet. We were seated right away and drink orders were taken. Our server took our order and the food was brought at different times. She she top up our drinks but she didnt ask us how the food was. Total missed opportunity to build connection and upsell for dessert. It was a basic experience for Cactus.

We had a great experience when we celebrated my uncle’s birthday. Service was good although we asked for paper menu a lot of times. We had a server named Arman. He attentively served us and asked how we are and the foods. Food is the best and even drinks they offered. I think their servers were trainee. I hope they will improve more. I feel bad with the other table. They have their food without the cutlery. But overall, i will recommend this restaurant.

Hip, comfortable restaurant. Good food. Server was too busy so service took a hit. Chicken wings were a little bit too dry and small. Otherwise a pretty good meal and consistent with the high quality expected from Cactus.

Dude this place rocks, food is good, service is usually UNBELIEVABLY GOOD although the past 3 times I've been I've had servers that are dumb as rocks and are awful, one even broke a glass on my foot and didn't apologize, but even though a few of them suck most of them rock and this place is always a good time, I couldn't recommend it more, unless the dude who broke a glass on my foot said sorry ofc but if your inna rush don't come and always book ahead of time cuz this place is BUSY

My dinner was great - a nice balance of healthy but tasty.ceviche appie with raincoast salad main. Our group shared the always-amazing apple galette.ask in advance to avoid disappointment.

Our server, Veronica, was very friendly and responsive all night.

The live DJ was amazing! He set the smooth vibes without overwhelming the scene.

Last week my wife and I had an issue regarding an entree. The head chef Kevin was nice enough to follow up with us via phone with concern. Kevin was so nice he invited us in for a desert. Our server Pretika was so pleasant and courteous she left a lasting impression with us. Cactus Club Byrne Rd location is our favorite location.

Food and service was generally pretty good. There was a point where our table was left waterless for about 30 minutes and unattended.

The restaurant looked so fancy and clean really nice atmosphere and staff are really nice and fast id come visit again

Food and service where great. The reason I am rating it a 1 star is that I witnessed an interesting cleaning method from the busser. The busser cleared the table, left the dirty tray of dishes on the table (didn't clean or wipe the table). Next he put down napkins and then put out clean cutlery. The big concern is that he grabbed the fork and knife by the part you put in your mouth. A bit surprised that this is the cleaning method used at Cactus cause never once did the busser clean the table or clean his hands. Gives me second thoughts about visiting a Cactus cause who knows if my cutlery was clean. I visited June 27 at 7 PM.

Wow! Had a great experience with them, the restaurant was very clean and organized. The staff were incredibly friendly and professionally. Food was good and price was great. Thank you so much!

Rhyionne, Thuy and AJ gave such amazing service. They were super tentative and I highly enjoyed their service.

We went here for late dinner and the place was still packed! However, we still got booth seating, which was great. We found our food on the salty side, maybe to get us ordering for drinks more, but we had dessert instead.

This is an awesome cactus club with great staff. Food and drinks are always spot on. Will be recommending and returning for sure!

I had the steak Fritz for $21 at happy hour. The steak was like butter. It was so tender and so delicious. 100% above Joey's Restaurant. I will definitely return. Friendly staff efficient staff. Zero complaints

One of our first go tos always. They have great friendly service, and always going above and beyond for their customers orders, making sure they're food is perfect. We attend this location atleaat once a week and everytime we have been treated exceptionally.

This is by far my favorite cactus clubs, we go here often and have never had bad service or food. Prices are a little high but it's totally worth it.

My husband and I were greeted by a hostess who didn't bother to make eye contact.

We were seated and had to flag a different waiter to take our order after waiting for 15 minutes.

Food took a LONG time to come. The two tables beside us ordered after us but their food came out before ours did.

Staff is unorganized, unprofessional all while the restaurant looked well-staffed (a lot of employees walking around aimlessly).

Anyways, the bill came and it seemed like they couldn't wait to get us out of the door.

Excellent service, excellent food! We were seated, waited on and served promptly. My blackened chicken burger was very tasty and I reccomend to try it! The Cactus Club is a little pricier than your average burger and fries place, but it's worth it. Don't forget to check out the bathroom while your there, always so luxurious!

Cactus is consistently good for food and service. I love the poke and the jambalaya. Out of the "big 4" chains, cactus is the best of them in my opinion.

I've been here a few times and every time the service has been really good and the food equally as good! The service is fast here, even when they are busy.

My brother recommended this location, and it's easy to understand why. The team here is always awesome and accommodating. We usually post up at the bar, and Rhyionne and Gaby always take care of us. Definitely a vibe where the team ensures you walk away with a good experience.

This place is huge, service was great, very polite. There is kind of outdoor seating. Very clean. Wasn't too pleased with Jambalaya kind of dry. Red curry was tasty. Steak with mashed potatoes and mushrooms was good but could be better since it costs $45. Portions are not too big. So don't come hangry unless you have a deep pocket.

This location is awesome every time I'm there.
For you old school people out there who remember the show "Cheers", this is a place where your name gets remembered. A big thanks to Gaby, Rhyionne and Yaroslava who make the visit fun.
