Cactus Club Cafe Coal Harbour

The host and the waitress were very rude to us! This was my second bad experience at this coal harbor location!

We had reserved waterfront table 2 days back, but unfortunately got 3 tables away from the waterfront and was very much disappointed initially as i was not able to get the table i expected. But luckily we asked FINLEY and she was so helpful to switch us near to the window with actual waterfront view.
Our server ISSAC was very professional and loved his interaction towards us making our experience even more wonderful.
If it wasn't for FINLEY, then our anniversary date night would have pretty much ruined so huge thank you for her.

I went to celebrate the new year (2024), the dinner was very delicious, both salad, starter, main course and dessert. The facilities are very cool, the atmosphere is very pleasant,
They play varied music at a volume that allows you to chat comfortably. I had the opportunity to sit with a view of the sea and it was a plus.

It was my first time at Cactus. I went with my wife for lunch. In general, pretty good. I got the parmesan chicken with gnocchi, and she got the mushroom steak. Both were very taste, my sauce a bit salty, nothing that I could not eat until the end. Her steak came rare like she asked for. We had the lava cake for dessert, it was overcooked but ok, tasted good. The service was good, our waitress was very friendly.

I came to visit during the evening happy hour. Even on weekday nights, people were quite crowded, but the atmosphere was good.

The food was just plain, but I am fully willing to visit again to enjoy the atmosphere.

Best option for late night dinner. They forgot to bring our sushi roll and wings were dry as they were made way before came to the table. Our mains came before our appy’s. Lack of organization.

I didn’t have the peach Bellini as per Drake’s recommendation but I did enjoy everything I had! Cactus club is always a good staple for crowd pleasing meals. There was a bit of a line at the front, but it moved quickly with our waitress seating us. Food was brought out in a timely manner with friendly staff. Great for hanging out with friends and family.

Well - we thought this was an uncomplicated café with friendly staff.but we were wrong: even with several free tables, the lady at the front desk would not let us in and told us to wait.when i asked why she told me if i see any cutlery on the free tables? When i told her we just wanted to drink coffee and i did not need any forks & knives, she insisted that we have to wait.in doing so, she very effectively prevented us from being customers.really unfortunate.

What a wonderful place for lunch or dinner. Reservation recommended. We sat by the harbor on a sunny day and it was the cherrry on top of the delicious meal. 10/10 for diversity of plates as well.

Great food, great environment/vibe, and reasonable prices. Food was a bit slow to come out and service was somewhat lacking, but overall I really enjoyed my evening there. A reservation ahead of time will make it much easier to get seated.

You get a beautiful view of the mountains if you dine early evening, and a view of the lights flashing at night late evening, and the view of the harbour. Great place for a date or anniversary.

I've visited a couple of times recently and been turned away, so I recommend booking in advance. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was nice and laid back. Made a good night out with colleagues, a great night. Thanks.

We went there for a dinner with friends. They did not even gave us water we had to ask for water. Even their server took a plate from pur table without asking us and just saying i need it and its free here so i am taking it. Food was good. Their manager was kind of ignoring the customers.

Waited for over 30 minutes beside the receptionist for a bar table being continually overlooked. Very disappointed

I am from the UK, there was a lady who wouldn’t let me in (I have both of my vaccinations and proof) she couldn’t recognize my ID and asked me very rudely with so much attitude what is this! My ID and she give me attitude anyways too much drama and worst service I didn’t enjoy my dinner. She wouldn’t give me her name but my server was very nice and said her name is Jen.
Food was great, my server was amazing but Jen ruined my dinner and night.

Visited this location for one of our honey moon dinners while spending the weekend in Vancouver. The reservation system was simple and we were seated immediately.

Judy our server was exceptional and attentive. Making sure the drinks were always topped up and that we were satisfied with the food.

The steaks were cooked beautifully and melted in your mouth.

The dessert at the end of the night was just the icing on the cake.

The view from the Canada Place location is spectacular. The food is always delicious and the wine list and cocktails are amazing

Had an awesome experience at this location. It was my girlfriend's birthday, and they made her feel like royalty. Our server, Tom, exceeded our expectations as a server. Management and all other staff members we interacted with were very polite. As for the food, it was delicious as always.

My service was beyond comparison, to any cactus club in the Vancouver area. Specifically, Tiffany was charismatic and kind. Showed us what true genuine warmth and care is really all about.

Good service and food overall. Had the Cajun chicken Caesar, overall good but could use a little less of the dressing, became hard to eat near the end

Visited this location in August. What a great way to end our trip in beautiful BC! Attentive staff, delicious food, and breathtaking views. We couldn’t have asked for more!

Always good at cactus! Drinks food service can never go wrong when you head to this chain of restaurants.

Cactus clubs are generally good but we had a reservation for lunch and they sat us right at a very busy corner of the restaurant and we finally asked to be moved.

Excellent views. Cactus Club is a BC favourite! A restaurant that is all about word of mouth in its popularity. Always great service, great food and atmosphere. You can't go wrong bringing friends or family to the classic but very modern restaurant.

The server we had was extremely rude and insensitive. It is completely inappropriate to comment on the number of dishes a patron is ordering, as well as how “hungry” we are. We did not come to dinner to feel shamed for the number of appetizers our party is ordering. We only ordered two appetizers. I do not think that is noteworthy or grounds for unsolicited, petty comments.

Very disappointed in the training that the staff are receiving. If I could give zero stars I would.

I had a great meal here with friends. The menu had very good choices and catered for people with various diets. The service was good. Overall a great place to enjoy with friends.

Typical cactus club. I mean the food is okay, the atmosphere is lively and upbeat, service isn't fantastic, and they have good music. Prices are high. But.again, expected. (I spent $40+ on a drink and a burger = (. I'd give 2.5 stars if I could.)

One of the nicest locations I have seen. The restaurant is above water and the view is stunning. I ordered the sliders which are 3 burgers and the sushi they have. Everything was very good, and the server was extremely nice and welcoming. Highly recommend this place.

9pm Tuesday night, just got out if the Van Gogh exhibit at the convention center heading for some late post art show food with the hubby. See tons of tables open, lots outside and inside available, with social distancing considered, no line. Hostess takes one look at us (we are dressed nice) and we are told it would be a 1hr 15min wait just for a table! They close at 11pm. Wow. We walk away, hubby looking for another open late place near by, when I take note of another couple go up to the place (up the 'walk in' line, not the reservation line), designer shoes, guy has expensive looking watch, 2 min later they are getting seated. Guess if you wear comfortable shoes for an art exhibit and aren't carrying a prada bag or something you get the upturned nose. We went to Mahoney's instead, better service, better view, better food.

Food and service always great here. Expensive but you get what you pay for. Butternut squash ravioli with prawns -never take it off tHe menu! Chicken lettuce wraps also da bomb and chicken teriyaki bowl!

Cactus you Nailed it! Great easy to order menu and options and best of all the food tasted great! I ordered the prawn crunch roll with the prawn curry and love it, hot and delicious. Super nice hosts at the door completely wrapped the experience! Thank you

We came here on a Thursday night and made reservations - which i highly recommend you doing. There was already a line and we had made reservations for 5PM.
We were a group of 6 and the service was great, especially since we had my 12 month old with us.
They did let us know that we only had the table for 2 hours however they did not pressure us as it was getting close to the cut off point. The service was great, very attentive, brought lots of napkins and the food came out quickly. We came here when we were vising Vancouver for the first time and it was great that we had lovely views during dinner time.

I spoke with the GM personally (I think her name started with a T). She was very personable and totally understood my concerns I have had at other Cactus club locations in other areas.
I have never had an issue with this location.

Overall very happy with the service and food/drinks at Cactus Club - Coal Harbour. We booked ahead and booked on the patio. My only complaint is that the patio side we were on did not have a good view of the Harbour. Looks like they had spots inside that overlooked the Harbour though.

Great location, Awesome view. I always love the food in here. Excellent customer service by Brandon. Attention to detailed. Our order came out on time and Brandon took really good care about everything to make our evening memorable. I will definitely recommend this place

We were having issues getting a reservation here on short notice, so we tried for the waiting list on a Saturday evening. We're so glad that we did! We were seated within 35 minutes and got a patio table, which was what we had hoped for. Drinks, appetizer and mains were all incredible. Our servers were attentive and friendly. A great experience for both of us and we'll definitely return when we're in the area again.

Cactus Club is well-known for its flawless service on top of its high-quality food. The Coal Harbour branch is worth trying for its beautiful scenery, whether at night or day.
You might need some days sooner for a successful booking on weekends.

For food-lovers who eat much, Cactus’s portions cannot make you full.

Came here on a whim on a busy Saturday night. Was told it’d take 1-1hr 30mins for a patio table. 15mins later they called us as someone canceled their reservation and we were able to take that table. Food is alright. I had the Cajun chicken burger and they were able to make it gluten smart. Had no problem afterwards. However, I didn’t love the burger. I’ve had the same Cajun chicken burger with gluten free buns at tap&barrel and theirs were much better with the same price. Everyone else at my table enjoyed their meal however. The staff were nice and helpful at dietary. Not sure about covid safe as when we left and walked through the restaurant, it was as packed as there was no covid. Glad we sat out in the cold instead. For the location and the view, it’s a good place. But I probably won’t come back for the food.

Came to Coal Harbour Cactus Club for happy hour and enjoyed the food and drinks. Definitely make a reservation or expect to wait 30-45 minutes if walking in. Waiters were friendly and respectful of your space and there is glass separating each of the booths for social distancing. Next time I would make a reservation in dining by the window to enjoy the spectacular harbour view while eating!

My favourite dish at @cactusclubcafe definitely has to be their Blackened Creole Chicken. It comes with creole butter on top, buttered mash potatoes and roasted asparagus?

Friendly staff that make you feel welcome! One of my personal favourite Cactus spots; & it never seems to disappoint! Always feels great to SUPPORT LOCAL in these times & make sure that money is going into the hands of people who need it most! I love the ambiance of the place and can never complain being down at the water front at anytime of day!

Enjoyed the meal and view from this place. Lovely ambience and atmosphere. The staff was very polite and pleasant. We ordered for Modern Rice Bowls which had a good portion size. The best part was the dessert where we ordered Chocolate Lava with vanilla ice cream. Will surely visit here again

Great service, great view, couldn't find a nicer place to take out of town guests. If you can reserve a view table it's worth it. Buy your wine by the bottle way cheaper.

What a spectacular restaurant! My husband, close friend, and I had the most enjoyable time this afternoon. Food was mouth watering delicious and the service from Camila was beautifully done. A must when in town. Thank you!

This place is amazing! The food was soooo good! Definitely try the truffle fries and the salmon. The Frosé drink was also super tasty! O and to top it all off the music was awesome! Request a table with a view to be treated to watching the water planes take off. The servers were so sweet! Last but not least they have happy hour from 3-5pm with great deals on lots of food and drinks options.

Nice setting and location. Our food arrived cold, which made our experience less appealing. We didnt mention it to our server, as these things happen, especially during lunch hour.

Overall, the food was fantastic and reasonably priced for the intricacy and portion size. I really enjoyed by meal and the service offered by Cactus club at Coal Harbour. However, one event majorly turned me off; When my family and I were waiting to check in, the hostess bluntly said it would be a two hour wait, after I had clearly heard her tell a previous customer the wait would only be 20 minutes. I don't know what her motives were but this sort of dishonesty can truly be taken the wrong way. 20 minutes later our table was ready. This waitress obviously knew the wait wouldn't be two hours but told us this time to try and divert us from coming to the restaurant, and I find that unacceptable. She needs a talk from the manager.

We enjoyed it so much we ate here twice during our 3 day stay in Vancouver. The atmosphere and service were great. And the location is also a plus. We recommend the edamame, crispy yam fries, Rob's flatbread, and the blackened creole chicken.

Cactus Club is awesome. I've never been disappointed with the food at any location. Service is almost always excellent. This location in particular is amazing. We sat inside at a booth with stunning views of the harbor at sunset. This location is huge, they have tons of seating inside and out. Our wait (for two) was only 15 mins (and we got a booth for four). Prices are average to high depending on what you order. And because it was our anniversary, they gave us a free dessert!

Aiden was our server and he made all the difference with our experience. He guided us to amazing menu choices. Food was delicious and easily shareable. Perfect night thanks to Aiden.

Every time I go to The Cactus Club, I am overwhelmingly disappointed; it has become an industry leader in low value pretentiousness and pompousness. Ive been feeling that way for years, but coming here this time really drove it home. This place is clearly below average in terms of food quality and service, and that's if you don't even factor in the prices! I'd give it 3 stars if it were normal prices. For these prices I expect a LOT more, and so should you. Why so many people would rate this place highly is a total mystery to me. Have they never been to a genuinely good restaurant? The Cactus Club's prices reflect what they think fools will pay to feel elite, not what they actually offer; their business model is: "Heir some pretty girls to stand at the front, spend a fortune on ostentatious decore, and every fool in the city, who fancies themself elite, will come flocking in. " Ok, maybe I'm being a little harsh, especially to the people who enjoy this place, and for some reason, theres a lot of them, but the reality is, you can eat much better food for far less. In a city that's full of culinary gems, there's no reason anyone should waste their time and money eating at this place. If you're happy with the food here, eat at Earls, the food is actually better, and so is the service and pricing. If you want to be fancy, go to Black+Blue, Gotham's, Hy's, Kobe's, or Miku, just to name a few, all with in walking distance from this place, all just as ostentatious and more, all similarly priced, and all actually delivering on quality and service. I don't mind paying for quality. I've eaten at all the restaurants I just mentioned, and never felt ripped off.although I could have been happier with Hy's and Miku. I just know what my money should get me, and The Cactus Club doesn't even come close; it's on par with pretty much every other mediocre chain restaraunt, only in a fancier setting.nothing special.except the prices. For example: Spaghetti and Kobe Meatballs for $27. Oh, but they're 'Kobe' meatballs. Yea, because that's what Kobe is known for.meatballs. I tried them: I wasn't impressed. I wanted to know what $27 meatballs taste like.the answer is: slightly better than IKEA's meatballs. Needless to say, I had a serious case of buyers remorse. What a waste of good beef.if they're even wagyu at all, let alone genuine Kobe beef, which I sincerely doubt. Or how about $8.25 for a single Cesar? (The drink. The salad is about 15 bucks, and it not great.) Nothing special or fancy, the same Cesar you get elsewhere for $6.50. The calamari was bland and tasteless, with possibly the worst tzatziki I've ever had. How do you mess up tzatziki? The beer selection is seriously pathetic. A major chain restaurant in Vancouver with only about 6 options on tap. Wtf? Do they think their clientele is too sophisticated for beer? I miss the original location in North Vancouver on Pemberton Ave, when they had plastic cows on the roof, paper machete toilets hanging above the tables and Gary Larson comics printed in the menu. It was a family favorite. It was fun, the food was delicious, the servers were friendly, kids were welcome, they didn't take themselves too seriously, the prices were reasonable, and there wasn't even the slightest hint pretentiousness anywhere.then, for some reason, they stripped away every likable element and replaced it with douchiness.but hey, i guess that's what sells around here.

I don't have to rate Cactus club because it's know for it's best service and food. Specially the way they take care of each client is outstanding. Today I visited with my family, we were taken care by Alex a gorgeous women, placed order and when it arrived we figured that burger had an ingredient that we don't eat. It was instantly replaced and it was tasty, this is the best part when the cheque arrived food wasn't charged for what I asked to change. Even though it was my fault to not pay attention before ordering. I am not reviewing as the best place because I dint have to pay for it, but such an humble way Alex handle it. Cactus club should be proud to have such a wonderful staff. You won my heart forever, each and every one in cactus is so welcoming. Good work beautiful people, id love to visit as many time as possible. You just made my evening so special.

Visited here yesterday for a lunch with my girlfriend.
I can tell everybody it has a stunning views and patio seats.
But I guess that's all about this restaurant.

Food and service quality is so below the standard.

Burger patty was under cooked still can see the blood inside so server took it and had to wait another 20mins so my girlfriend already finished her dish before I got mine.and surprisingly second burger patty was paper thin. So I guess they just pressed my uncooked patty on a flat top and served that again.
I've waited for a long time to get my food (30mins to be seated, 45mins to get final food) so I didn't even have a energy to complain about my remade second burger.
So I just took it as is.

Manager stopped by and apologized me for uncooked burger and told me burger is on him.

But when I got the bill, the burger was still charged.
I don't know if the server did that on purpose for high tips or the manager didn't give her a message about the burger bill. But either way you guys seem have a problem.

I was so tired of the place so I didn't wanna talk about the bill with the server. So I just paid all and left the restaurant.

I've been using Cactus Club Cafe for almost 10yrs. If I go to Cactus Club on Robson St, they all recognize me. I'm using Cactus Club that much.

It was the worst experience I had in Cactus Club Cafe.

This Coal Habour branch should fix their system or so. Because it looks like it is seriously screwed up.

Very well located at the Canada Place, with an amazing view from the port. This is a large restaurant with a lovely outside area. There is a huge kitchen, enough waiting staff that makes this experience quite pleasant. We have ordered some finger food and they came quickly. Our waiter was kind and ready to serve, asking us how the food and service were. It was a sunny and warm day and staying outside was nice. Definitely recommended.

I have to say this is the quintessential Canadian restaurant. So nice, the service varied a little making our meal a little late - then my wife's appetite waned and she could not eat her meal. She is a cancer patient and subject to the whims of her disease and the way it affects her body. The manager and server were very concerned and refused to charge us for our meal. Really! They took it all upon themselves as if were their fault, which it most definitely was not. My meal was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for their food and incredible service.

This was one of the best place we have eaten in. It took us about 35 minutes to get seats because we didn't have a reservation but it was worth the wait. The ambience is great and so was the view. The place is big and there is patio seating too with foldable transparent roofs ands sides and heating so you get the pleasure of being outside without being exposed to the cold winds. We ordered two varieties of the beer on tap and both were great. The yam chips and fried tofu bowl was a good for our vegetarian member and we enjoyed butternut squash ravioli with prawns and mini chicken burgers. Sadly no one could beat the thought of eating anything more so we had to give dessert a miss.

An awesome place to visit, the best food you can try in downtown area. That's the reason it is always full, and tbe staff is very professional. It's altogether a different experience. I tried most of their vegetarian options and they were awesome. I would recommend this place if you are in Vancouver downtown.

The restaurant itself is stunning, the food was fresh and delicious. The service was great! I love that they clear dishes away quickly - it’s a simple thing but it drives me nuts to have dirty empty dishes stacking up by the end of a meal. Drinks stayed filled, all servers had a warm smile and were courteous and ours gave us great recommendations of her personal favorites from the menu. 5 stars for food, service, and ambiance. Thank you!
