Cactus Club Cafe Coquitlam Centre

We arrived just ahead of two women and a baby, we added our name to the wait list and were told it'd be a few minutes while they cleaned a table.

About 5 minutes passed and the two women and baby were guided to their table while we waited another 10 minutes. I did check with the hostess asking about the delay and was again told they were cleaning a table.

Today's view shows about ½ the tables occupied with most tables set for service.

It was a surprise when we were finally seated that we were placed at a table right beside the two women that had arrived after us, additionally, right beside a booth that had Cactus Club Management conducting staff reviews amidst the guests.

It became quickly apparent the women seated ahead of us were family to staff, we were seconded to wait while staff held privelege seating family first.

And to sit while watching and listening to reviews?

Classless. Embarrassing. I didn't ask to be sat in your human resources department.

So disappointing, I'll say the food and wait staff were excellent, hostess and management should be sat for review by me, they'd definitely get "D" for customer service.

Management failed this customer.

Great place and the servers are very friendly. The food selection could be better as cactus doesn't change up their menu often, just add back old menu items like the tuna stack. This location gets very busy on weekends so reservations are recommended.

We came here for the first time and excited to try Cactus in our neighbourhood. We waited 15 minutes at the table watching everyone moving around and nobody came to take our order, while people who arrived after us even received their food. Very disappointing for a place like Cactus. We left, and spend the money elsewhere.

Great atmosphere. Great food. The Creole Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Brocolli just melted in my mouth.

Yum! A little on the expensive side but not quite the Keg prices. Food was awesome as for the room.a little cafeteria-like for me but, ok.

On Thursday, April 20th, my daughter and her boyfriend went to the Cactus Club located in Coquitlam Centre for lunch. However, to their surprise, the management refused to serve them. When my daughter asked for the reason, they were met with hostility and asked to leave the restaurant. The management even threatened to call the police.
My husband and I decided to visit the restaurant later that day to inquire about the incident. We approached the situation calmly, politely. However, we were met with the same rude and disrespectful behavior as well. We were told that it was none of our business and asked to leave the restaurant. The management even threatened to call the police on us.
Even after ten days, I am still in shock and unable to understand the reason behind such behaviar from the restaurant management. It is note worthy to mention that my family and I are all active members of the community and society, involved in sports and other humanitarian activities.
I would appreciate it if you could shed some light on why such manners and behavior are exhibited by some individuals in the service industry. It is disappointing and hurtful to be treated this way, and I cannot simply walk away and forget about the incident.

Had lunch with my friends yesterday and was served by alysha. She was so attentive, bubbly and we thoroughly enjoyed her service! It was our first time not being at the bar top for a quick drink at this location and we’ll definitely be back!

I recently visited the Cactus Club at Coquitlam Centre with my wife for a late night snack. We ordered the spicy ahi roll, mini crispy chicken sandwich duo, and truffle fries. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing.

We were greeted immediately by the hostess. She said she needed to set up our table then and asked for my phone number. I was not told why they needed it until I asked. She said in case we forgot anything and we wouldn't receive any spam. The service was not up to par as our server forgot some of our items, and we had to ask multiple times. The food was mediocre at best, and even though it was happy hour, we didn't see the value in what we ordered. Additionally, the music was too loud, which made it difficult to hold a conversation.

Overall, I was disappointed with the experience, especially since I've had better experiences at other Cactus Club locations with consistent food and better service. While the Coquitlam Centre location is new, I expected better from a restaurant chain with a reputation like Cactus Club.

I think it's important to provide feedback so that the restaurant can improve. I may consider visiting another Cactus Club location in the future, but for now, I would not recommend the Coquitlam Centre location based on my experience.

First time at this location, and it was super beautiful inside! It was very busy, but our server was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was great and full of flavour. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Great food and ambiance as the building structure is new but managers need to get on their toes with service & training! Servers need to have better & prompt service training! On our table the food is served to share but never got plates individually to keep our food and eat comfortably. Server never bothered to check and ask for plates and we ppl struggle to share and eat out of bowls & serving plates! Dessert cake is served without giving dessert utensils & plates until asked for! Even Diners service training is better than what cactus club charges and expect the tips for! "

The med bowl is my new favorite meal at Cactus! Thank you Terra for the complimentary cheesecake! It was soooo good!

Being newly opened, I was very impressed! Our server was amazing she really took the time to confirm our orders and paid extra care and attention to my mom's anaphylactic shellfish allergies, which really put her at ease.the place was buzzing for a Monday night.

Awesome food and great service! I was impressed by how well this location was run - we didn't have to wait for our reservation and our server was so attentive. The restaurant was very busy and the servers were doing a fantastic job.

Take-out set up needs to be improved. Standing in the rain, on the side of a highway, without any coverings for an order that is 10-15 minutes behind is less than ideal.

Haven't received our food yet, but the experience was ruined by having to negotiate a decent table.

The meal was very nice, but I won't be back.

Had a reservation at 9: 45pm. They are so bad at time management and had so many people waiting there. They do not care about reservations and the manager there does not do anything about it. I recommend to go to the schoolhouse location!

Ron provided us fantastic service and made our dinner so enjoyable! Really enjoyed our first time at this new location.

Had a reservation at 745 pm didn’t get our table till 815, the food wasn’t that great, sangria was not like how the cactus club on schoolhouse usually makes them.

We thought we’d try the new Cactus Club location at Coquitlam Centre last Thursday night and almost turned around due to the lack of organization at the front door, but lucky for us our server Lexi saved our experience.
We ate dinner in the lounge, which I must admit is a nice space. The whole restaurant is large and modern. Lexi convinced us to try some items off of both the drink and food menu that we haven’t tried before and we couldn’t have been more pleased with her recommendations. Everything was delicious.
We ended up having a wonderful evening and are looking forward to making this our new regular spot. See you next weekend! Thank you Cactus Club and Lexi!

My friends and I wanted to come visit this new Cactus. Khash was our server and I cannot say enough amazing things about how amazing our service was! Will definitely coming back soon!

Good food and excellent service, my server Jillian F is friendly, she shows patience and introduce the menu us in detail, timely service and her small talk with us definitely enhanced our dining experience! We will come surely next time.

Best Cactus Club I have been to. So happy it's in my neighborhood. I rarely order chicken breast in a restaurant as it is inevitably overcooked and disappointing.
Not so here. My Lemongrass Chicken Salad was delicious with chicken breast cooked to perfection! Server, Katie, really made our night. She was absolutely a joy. Tried the Key Lime Pie on her recommendation and it was superb. Restaurant is lovely and really had a fun time. Also, they are big supporters of Kidsport so they've got my business!
