Cactus Club Cafe English Bay

My sister and I dined here for happy hour and were so incredibly impressed with the service we received. Elena is an absolute gem!

The one and only restaurant by Westend where you can people watch or nature watch through the glass windows. Summer time you can sit on the patio which is very nice.
Food wise, it's a pub style food, but every visit here is never disappointed.
Drinks are made well as well.
Service has always been friendly.
Tip: Reserve a table in advance if you are a large group or going on Friday evening or weekend.

I recently dined at this restaurant, and it was an experience worth sharing. Their cocktails are absolutely fantastic, and I was especially impressed by their Italian pasta dishes – truly mouthwatering!

The service was exceptional, with one small exception. Unfortunately, like many other restaurants lately, they've raised their tipping expectations, which can be a bit of a letdown. However, this was only a minor hiccup in an otherwise pleasant visit.

The salad was the only dish that didn't quite match the high standard set by the rest of the menu. On a positive note, their chicken wings were equally delicious and rounded off the meal perfectly.

We had a great experience here. We had to go to the back of the restaurant that faces the water since we did not have a reservation. There was around a 10 minute wait for a table. We were sat at a high top indoors, which was nice because it was actually hot (August visit).

My friend had the crispy chicken sandwich, and I had the sirloin steak. Everything was very tasty!

Elena was a huge stand out! It was only her first day when she served us and she went above and beyond! She was so genuine and made a connection with us. Made the whole dining experience 10x more memorable.

Everything was perfect! The view is amazing!
I recommend paying the extra for the truffle fries, highly worth it!

My dining experience at Cactus Club with server Owen and manager Hannah was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I walked in, they made me feel so welcome and taken care of. Owen was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The service was prompt and efficient, and Hannah made sure everything was running smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish beautifully presented. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience thanks to Owen and Hannah's exceptional service. I can't wait to go back!

We made reservations for a milestone anniversary and were not disappointed. Everything was excellent. Our server Joe was so friendly and went above and beyond to make it a very special evening. We look forward to going back soon.

The location is great with an ocean view right on English Bay! Perfect temperature inside not hot or cold! Didn’t have a reservation and were seated within 20 min. Service was good, everyone is very pleasant and friendly. Drinks were great, the food took a while to come out, but everything tasted great!

Nice restaurant along the beach with large windows, open in the summer. Staff plentiful, trying to deliver a good level of service from arrival to paying the bill. Among the recommended dishes: poke with tuna and also crispy meat croquettes with fries.
Honest prices, reasonable service times. Suitable for families.

First time coming here for a friends birthday on November 26th around 6pm and our server Alex was amazing, genuinely loved and appreciated her patience and service!

So yummy! They didn’t have the hunter chicken on the menu but went out of their way to make it for us anyways! Which we so appreciated. The location can’t be beat’ beautiful views.

I do like cactus club, but somehow I walked away from here with a $40 bill for two Caesars during happy hour. Enough said

The hostess and waitress were fabulous. The view spectacular. Unfortunately the food was nothing outstanding. We go to the Cactus Club at Market Crossing regularly and love the food there but at this location we were very disappointed.

No that good I order full ribs jk Daniel rack it was small compared to different locations I order before the service not good the services girl never smile rude and not in bug small and congested I suggest go different locations Brentwood or surrey

What a hidden gem right on English Bay! Stopped here for lunch while cycling along the sea wall! We were lucky to get a window seat which comes with a million dollar view my burger and fries was delicious. If you’re visiting Vancouver this is a must stop restaurant

Unbelievably Very poor service.food came and we didn't have cluttery. I ask for it and they took so much time to bring it to us.

Although the place was super crowded, staff tried their best to seat us in a nice area despite having no reservation. The best part is the view of the sunset you can get here as it is right at the beach with great view and a nice patio section. Would definitely visit again.

The location is the central feature of this cactus club. Lots of seating near the windows so you can see the ocean and the beach.
The food is good, happy hour deals are great. It's usually quite busy here especially in the summer so make a reservation

The waiter was a dream. There was food, fair to very good. This view cannot be beat. If you want a gorgeous view and good food, go here.

We like this location no matter the weather because the beach view is always amazing. We made an early reservation and got a window seat shortly after we arrived. We had the prawn sushi roll, rice well cooked and the prawns were fresh. The mini burgers were delicious, the meat was moist and juicy. My favourite was the Szechuan chicken wrap, which never disappoints me. The crunchiness of the lettuce and the flavourful chicken were fantastic. Corey was our waitress and she an excellent job. We will be back soon.

Stunning ocean views facing North Vancouver, it’s the perfect location for date night or drinks with friends. Service was lovely and the food was amazing. We had calamari, sushi, and truffle fries as well as their red sangria which was delicious as well.

Standard Cactus Club fare- the food isn't bad but it's not great either. The real reason you come here is for the view!

Chill vibe, cool young crowd, decent food, great drinks, and good service. Prices are fair and pretty affordable, especially during happy hour (2-5pm, or after 9: 30pm Sunday to Thursday). I personally like their gin summer spritzer and their dijon salmon (Lois Lake steelhead, if you're wondering) served with butter mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, but their sushi rolls are good too. For parties of 2 or more, you need reservations, but solo folks can usually find a place at the bar on Sunday to Thursday evenings.

Went here on Jun 9 for my wife’s bday, our server was very friendly but ruin by that Asian guy who talks so loud louder than the girls working there I understand if it’s busy we all get rowdy while drinking so it’s ok for everyone to speak louder but there was just me and my family at 11: 30am! And after an hour or so two other groups came. Their triple A steak was just ok but the mash potato was good, calamari was descent and their chicken wings was super good.

AMAZING one of the best memory I have of Vancouver. Their drink were awesome and pretty cheap since we went during happy hour in the afternoon

Nice place to grab drinks with a nice view after a walk in Stanley Park. A lot of cocktail selection during happy hour.

Food was fantastic, but the cocktails made the visit even better. Good service, even better food, and the view made it all even better.

The frosé drink is beautiful and delicious. I do not like beef but I just loved their beef miniburgers.

Stopped by on a whim and loved this place! We waited for about 40 minutes but it was a Friday night and that was to be expected. When we were seated the service was amazing and the food/drinks delicious! The salmon was mouth watering! Drank more tequila spritzers that we should have but it was worth it. The sunset views were also spectacular! If we ever come back from Kingston we will definitely go here again!

We had an incredible sunset dinner at the Cactus Club, a view not to be missed! And our server Jimmy was one of a kind! Made the experience extra special for our evening out! The food was delicious, and they were super accommodating to our dietary needs, the baked Truffle fries were to die for.

We hope to visit English Bay again and will for sure book a table at Cactus Club. We totally also recommend you book in advance as the line was busy all night long!

I came here for lunch on my birthday August 22 2021 and i was incredibly disappointed with the service there. I would have given zero stars if that was an option.upon entering the hostess already looked fed up and I didn't even ask her anything yet. I saw her being nice and friendly to other customers but not to my friend and I and it was literally my birthday.this honestly put a damper on the whole day. It was actually my friends first time dining here and I don't believe she ever wants to back to any other cactus club again because we just got the worst vibes from the employees there. I think this location is the only one with toxic employees because every other cactus club I've been to, I have been treated with the utmost respect and this time, I just left with a bad taste in my mouth.

As a 20% tipper this was the first time I tipped zero in years. I've heard this is the worst Cactus Club for service and it's lived up the reputation. Server was unfriendly, disappeared after delivering food & never checked back until clearing plates. He never asked if we wanted another drink and we ended up waiting 23 minutes (I had to keep adding money for parking so it was easy to track) from the time our plates were cleared, with empty drinks to the time our server came back. I hate waiting for the check when everything is cleared. Meanwhile he was standing in the distance chatting with co-workers. - No friendly banter, Never asked how our food was or if we needed anything (It wasn't great) never offered a second drink. I love Cactus and always visit, but this was by far the worst Cactus Club experience ever.

Really great restaurant. The food is tasty and of a good quality. Unfortunately they do not offer their carpaccio anymore. But what we had was great!

Yes the tables need more cleaning and the place is not exactly sparkling clean. But again I must say. Please visit this cactus club for sure

For a chain restaurant, the place was pretty surprisingly good! Even though we had a massive table (there were like, 20 of us there), the service was still awesome, the food was outstandng, and the drinks are always good. If it wasn't so small there, I'd be there way more often.

Fabulous late lunch. Not too busy. Attentive but not intrusive service. Watch Calories in some menu items. I had a rocket salad that turned out to be 800 calories.

Stay Away, Stay far away. Came here for a party and with a reservation, we arrived 10 minutes early and was told they are still setting up the table. After the said reservation time had passed we were told the table was ready, when we got to the table we found out that 3 of our party guest had already been sitting at the table for 15 minutes! This was booked almost 2 weeks ago so it wasn't even a last minute thing.

I've been to Cactus Club so many time's that I don't even know what to get anymore so I decided to get the Creole Steak + Prawns with a side order of mushrooms. The steak was sort of cold in the middle as well as everything was very greasy and full of butter. Otherwise, it was good. My friend (Mark) ordered the Calamari after eating half the plate he felt sick. Later we found out he had food poisoning and was throwing up (7 times in the span of 12 hours). I ate some of his Calamari because he said it didn't taste right. As well as a 3rd person (Ball) sampled it. The Calamari didn't taste right to me either. I think it was undercooked. After 2 hours I started feeling sick as well, not to the extent of my friend though. When we left I felt as if I wanted to throw up too. My friend (ball) said it tasted off to him as well with a weird mouth feel.

Before even ordering my food I was set on a Sangria/Bellini but I wanted to finish my meal first and enjoy the drink after as a digestif but that never happened. I was feeling sick.

In my opinion, it’s worth every penny! I ordered a bowl of soup with truffle fries and grilled salmon for the main dish. As for the desert, I got the lava chocolate. Everything I ordered was amazing and delicious. It’s true that there is often a waiting time but the service, the view, the food and the atmosphere is Super.

I love this particular branch of Cactus Club, i can't say for the view though (only ever been there after dark) but im sure it's really nice, the ambiance is fantastic, I personally felt like it had a somewhat vintage feel considering it's very modern in there, but enjoyed it none the less, id definitely recommend this place for dates, anniversaries and the like

This is a gem as it's arestaurant right on the beach of English Bay, so a lovely experience if you're on the tourist train. I mean it's a Cactus Club. The service is good, the food is good, the servers are all pleasant and well presented.

The food was good love the ocean view but the food takes so long to get served and the bill once your done, also we had to be get the waitress attention multiple time.

Cactus club never disappoints with their Sunday funday drinks. The new Pina colada was amazing - so creamy. They did up the price a little but still worth it

Nice place at the beach but plenty of available tables that you cannot choose.they will put you at the bottom no matter you want a nice spot with view

Great view with a diverse range of food and drink options. If you're driving it can be challenging to find parking so walking or transit would be preferable.

I normally like this location but the service today was horrible. The black hostess at the front and a server named Nicole had awful attitudes. The hostess had a blank expression on her face and behaved like she was miserable with her job. She led us to a table with crumbs all over the chairs and disgusting floors. The floor was littered with tomatoes and crumbs yet no one bothered to clean it up. Unfortunately, our server Nicole was no better. There were no smiles or thank yous from her. One of our orders didn't arrive as it got missed but she didn't even apologize at all. She just said it got lost and walked away. The food here is good so it's such a shame that the employees are unpleasant to deal with. It used to be much better in the past. Please improve.

We have gone here a few times because the food, the view, and the wait staff were incredible. We have tried the Calamari, Steak Frites, quesadilla, and the chicken sandwich and they have all been amazing. If you are going to get dessert, the lava cake is the way to go! The staff will try their best to seat you where you want and to get the best experience possible. Whenever we visit Vancouver we go and will continue going! Lovely place

Ordered salmon, they served it to me cold and dry. Brought it to their attention and they threw it back in the oven, then it was warm and really dry. Ughhhh cook a new one cheapos

Visiting Vancouver for a few days from Saskatchewan. Was told to check out this place because of the great atmosphere and view. So we did. On Saturday, September 29th in the late afternoon.

Yes, the view was awesome but left with a sour taste in our mouths.

When we first walked in, noone greeted us. We stood by the hostess stand to have two people stare at us without saying one word. We, as the guests, needed to initiate the conversation to request a table for two. One of the ladies stared at us with a glare, the other lady asked her to check if there were any tables on the anpatio. It was quite obvious that she did not enjoy her job, and was frankly quite rude.

That was a disappointment from the beginning which didn't make our experience at the Cactus Club a good one. Unfortunately we did not catch the ladies names.
(But, the food was delicious)

Such a great place to eat lunch or an early dinner! All the servers appear to take fabulous care of their customers as well as dressing professionally. The best spot you can eat at by English Bay. Take your date here, take your family here, take your dog here, the atmosphere relaxes you and allows you to enjoy your food. My waiter whose name was Kevin was 100/100: perfect waiter and extremely nice.

Typical cactus club. Friendly service. Wait for patio seating. Good views from inside. Nice wine list. Good cocktails. Lettuce wraps yummy. Valet parking. Prices ok for the location and food quality. Spread over 2 levels. Stairs and elevator available. Access from beach level. Good place for a bite, check it out.
