Cactus Club Cafe Station Square

Had a very unpleasant experience at their restaurant - for a $100 meal, the food quality has definitely gone downhill. The steak we ordered was chewy, fries were not fresh & the bellini came melted.

As a group of 6 we were having a nice evening. We were a table that ordered cocktails, then appies, then bottles of wine, and our mains. Food and service were standard, not spectacular. But we were there to celebrate friends we had not seen in a while (who specifically asked to go here because they do not have one where they have moved to). Our night was interrupted by one of the hostesses very abruptly telling us they need our table in 15 minutes. We were at 1hr 40 minutes at this time, and had not been offered a dessert menu, our mains had just been cleared. The way this was communicated was very unprofessional and made us instantly feel unwelcomed. There was not any communication at the time of reservation or when we were being seated that it was a hard limit of 2hrs no matter your group size. I later found it on your website. We were not a lingering table. We ordered a lot of food and drinks and would have enjoyed dessert too. The way things were communicated was rude and I will be sure to share our experience with others that this is how your guests are treated. We are just numbers, not paying guests, herded through to meet your over bookings. Very disappointed.

We just had our work Christmas party of 20 loud girls and we had Rhys as a server and he was INCREDIBLE. We have never experienced service that was this flawless. He was patient, consistent, didn’t mess up one order and was kind and smiled the entire time. I personally would have been stressed out serving us haha and he handled everyone perfectly. Calamari is not that delicious, but the butternut squash ravioli is delicious. I must order it every time. The peach Bellini is also a must-order cocktail. This time I shared the steak and ravioli with my friends. The kitchen can help divide the plates (as in the photo). Millionaire's cut is just right between medium rare and medium rare, because they usually cook it relatively well, so if you order medium rare a few times, it will become almost medium rare when served.

It was our anniversary and although I made that very clear on the reservation form, there was nothing specially prepared for us. The website mentioned an intimate dining experience, but it was not intimate, the dining tables were very close to one another and there were loud chatting and conversations throughout the dining area all the time we were there. We spent a significant amount of money with our dinner, including drinks, appetizer, main courses and dessert. Usually, the restaurant offers you free drinks or a personalized dessert for special occasions, but this did not happen yesterday at Cactus Club. Overall, I would not recommend going to this location for special occasions.

I had an issue with market crossing cactus club when an order fell through … I get it especially now with staffing issues and the holiday season: . I ended up calling station square cactus and I could tell they actually cared and enjoyed their place of work.
The restaurant is nicely laid out and Jason the manager and staff went over and above to make 22 take out plates for an important client of mine this morning. Thank you … I will be sure to bring clients your way more often. You absolutely went above and beyond thank you again

Food is delicious and staffs are good and beautiful Brooklyn did great and Didi did great like Brooklyn did and free lemon and made me feel at home. Tiana did great too for the service.

Love the crispy tofu bowl and the zen roll (both vegan). Haven't tried their vegan burger yet. That will be for next time.

My family and I had lunch at this location around 12: 30 to 1: 45. Three tables were walking around with out a masks and blocking the exit by moving their chair, so they can sit together. We waited for the manager to come and clear a pathway but she didn’t come for over 20 minutes. We waited the whole time so we can leave. How is this following Covid protocol?

I have been to this Location many times. The food is good, atmosphere is fun but Always bad service. One time the server never came to our table, I had to go look for her and found her chatting with her friends at the bar. Another time the server was literally on her phone the whole time.
I am not sure why management doesn’t notice that. I can’t be the only person who is unhappy with the service. Maybe they don’t feel that good service is an important part of the experience, since it’s always busy. But nothing is permanent.

This would have been the third time in Cactus club restaurants since we arrived in Vancouver. The problem is I can’t suggest it because they didn’t let us in! Our vaccine passport is from Quebec. It was understandable if they made sense, but the manager didn’t even bother to check the regulations. This is so rude when you tell them their other branches accepted the same thing. BUT No! Managers are always right! I am gonna attach the BC guidelines for vaccines from other provinces for your next guest. Not to forget that we got our BC vaccine the same day, and the manager didn’t accept the card proof.

Update: You didn’t even bother to open the link you have sent to me in the reply. This shows how important are costumers for you. My screenshot was the same link you send it. That was really the last time to your restaurant.

Today, One of bartender with yellow hair at bar was so nice. She knows cocktail very well, she recommended to me really good food and excellent cocktail, so I give five stars

Nice atmosphere, delicious food, and if you're extra lucky you can get a complimentary asparagus!

This branch of Cactus Club cafe really need to train there hosts how to welcome people. Very rude and very mean. Extremely bad mannered

Food was great but couldn’t meet my expectations for service.after dine out i and husband were not happy.
I am hoping that This branch of Cactus would improve your service quality and train your staff to behave more professionally from little things like Greeting or smile.

The food was really good, but we had to wait while a little longer because the staff was talking to a large group by the door

The atmosphere was great and our server friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our food and drinks

Food is great but servers don't check on tables and a bit rude. Visited here 3 times and service was awful every time.

Gotta give this location 5 stars for one main reason; Brooklyn. She's by far the best server I've ever had. Her service is above and beyond and she make you feel right at home! She is the reason why me, my partner and now our little girl keep going back to this location even tho it is not the closest to our place.

Amazing food - coming from Toronto, this (and probably others) Cactus Club was 10X better in terms of quality! Ordered a rare steak and it came out in perfection!

Great ambience! The music is very chill and great background music. It is pricier that most other restaurants, but the food and ambience is spot on and makes it worth your dollars.

I come here pretty often as it's close to the mall and it's always been great, but my last experience was very disappointing because of the server we had. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, but her attitude and service wasn't the nicest or experience that we had in the past. I'm giving a 2 star because of the attitude and response of the order from our server but the kitchen and food was great.

I had a pretty long day and didn't eat much so I was really looking forward to Cactus. When we got to the restaurant, we waited maybe 2 or 3 minutes for our server, we got our waters and ordered 2 burgers. It came out pretty quick and it was delicious. We were still a bit hungry after our burger so we decided to order more food. When the server took our order, I said no green onions for both of our bowls but both came out with green onions on them. For me I don't like green onions as it's too strong of a taste and I remember mentioning no green onions as I've always ordered it without when I go to any Cactus, so I asked a different server that walked by and asked to have it remade for me.

When our original server came by, she asked where my bowl was and I explained how there were green onions on mine when I asked without it and she said I "didn't tell her". I responded with, "I did, it was the first thing I said". She didn't accept the mistake and replied with, "The kitchen is remaking it so we'll bring it up soon. "

After she walked by, I confirmed with my boyfriend that I mentioned "no green onions" and he said that was the first thing that was mentioned.

I lost my appetite shortly after the bowl came and asked to pack our food.

There's more to this experience but overall I don't think I'll come back to this one and would rather go a little farther for a better experience.

Both the spaghettini and steak are cooked perfect each and every time. The burgers and sides are also very delicious. Service is friendly and seating is also relatively quick. You can reserve your spot online, but there's a limit and after that you can still come as walk-in. I often reserve online, but the couple times I have not been able to, I was still accommodated fairly quickly. The servers are nice and friendly. Love it every time I come by

The food is amazing. I loved everything I asked. The ambience sound was a little loud for me, but this is acceptable. I just think they took a little too long to get our order. A waitress come right after we sat, said that we could ask any questions, and just left, when I was ready to ask, I saw her going away. We also order a entrance place, that came with the food. After we all ate, we asked for the check, and the waitress put bill on the table and took another 20 minutes to come back. It was not awful, at all. I know the place was kind of full at the time, and I understand that. But I think the service can be improved.

Love this new location. Music was loud but it was because I was meeting a friend for lunch. Not sure how it would have gone over if I had brought my 3 year old. I had the tuna poke bowl which was great.

Everything about my dining experience here was very positive, the music and lighting set the right balance of ambience for a casual dinner to a romantic date.

Our server was very kind and professional and had even recommend items when we were split between what to order.

The starters did take a little longer than expected to arrive, but it was understandable as the restaurant was quite busy, everything else came out at a decent pace and was prepared and plated well.

I would definitely recommend the Station Square location to anyone that wants to have any sort of event.

It's just nice enough for me. I like the food, the design and comfort of a nice place to people watch and hang out with my family. It kinda feels like a casual party at home.

If you want a quiet eating area make sure you are on the seated side vs the bar side as the bar side can get really loud. The food quality is like other quality cactus clubs

Great environment. Ravioli is heaven. Butternut Squash Ravioli with a prawn perched on each one and doused in a creamy lemony sauce. Pine nuts sprinkling. Service a bit slow Friday night.

Good food, excellent service. There was an unfortunate incident where a glass of beer broke and spilled on my shearling jacket. Maggie and Orchid was very pleasant and kindly assisted me in the process of taking care of the damages.

Poor service and numerous staff walking and passing us before having our drink order taken. There was some confusion on the floor. But great food and the Cactus Cafe cuisine smells real good! My black chicken was absolutely delicious. Will go again.

I had a reservation for 6: 30, but because there was another bigger group arriving at 7: 45, the waitress asked me if we could finish our dinner in an hour. We had to say yes because otherwise we didn't know how long we had to wait for another table. The food was great but the reservation system is terrible.

Update: Updated to 5 stars. Cactus actually reads the review and reach out to people who had unpleasant experience. I went back again for brunch and it was a much better experience. Both my husband and I had a great time. The fact that Cactus listens and cares about customers deserves 5 stars.

This location recently changed the price of their teriyaki rice bowl to $16.25 on happy hour menu. I used to frequent this location several times a week for this meal item, but will rethink that going forward.

First time at this new location. Great atmosphere and excellent service by Allyson P. We ordered dishes to share and we were impressed with the food already splited and served in separate dishes.

Food was hot and tasty. Definitely would recommend trying this place out.

My server Vienn was very personable and friendly! Loved this location and thought all the food was perfect and came out time efficiently. Drinks came out right away and service was overall impeccable.

Honestly, I can’t believe you have taken the Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl from $13 on happy hour to $16.25. From my knowledge, Jasmine Rice, Spicy Yogurt, 4 oz.of Chicken, Broccoli, Pepper, Water Chestnut, celery, peas, bean sprouts, sweet-and-sour cabbage, read onion, cilantro & white sesame seeds in the portion provided does not reflect the price at $16.25, even a cactus chef knows that.

One star for this visit. Cactus club is a chain restaurant and they have great food and a great atmosphere. However, this location is new and needs to figure some things out.
We had made a reservation for 8 people at two tables side by side. When we arrived they didn’t have any record of the reservation even though we had confirmation texts from the location. They were able to seat us but crammed us into a booth and added chairs to make everyone fit. Next the server, accidentally spilled an entire jug of water on one of us and her personal belongings. Accidents happen but when we were discussing the reservation issue and brought up the water incident with a manager, he brushed it off as her being a trainee. Out of the 8 entrees that were ordered 2 of them were wrong and we ended up taking the wrong entrees because we didn’t want to make the whole table wait for them to be remade. As compensation they did take 1 bottle of wine off the bill.
End of the day it is cactus club but this is new location with systems to work out and new staff to train. Im sure the next time I visit there won’t be so many issues.

Absolutely brilliant experience today at brunch. Station Square Manager Benjamin Cooney took immediate steps to rectify all orders, went above and beyond our expectations, was very professional and apologetic as well as soliciting feedback. Received constructive criticism very well. Overall phenomenal experience, great food, service, environment. Speaks in volumes to Cactus Club professionalism and friendliness. Will definitely be coming back!

From the moment we arrived at 5: 30 pm on a Saturday evening, the service was outstanding. Our server was most gracious and helpful and I was given a lovely cloth CC bag to cart away my left-overs. Plus we were able to make a reservation in the bar area.
