Bun Bo hue used to be better, don’t know what’s changed but the last couple of visits the broth has been a bit bland and not hot enough. Why is the tapioca dumplings always sold out?

Hole in the wall typa restaurant, simplified menu with only a few items on it. Service was OK. But the food slappppppppppp 11/10 would go here again with the homies. Gotta get that Bun Bo Hue tho

Hands down one of the best, if not the best, Bun Bo Hue in the whole Lower Mainland.
Quality is consistent since day 1. Soup is flavourful, noodle is cooked just right and meat is tender. They does it right every single time.
Love supporting small businesses and this family-run establishment never disappoints.

Hands down for one of the best Asian soul food on Vancouver, you know the restaurant is.solidnwhen there's only 8 items on the food menu and full house on a sat afternoon raining day.

The food was fantastic, the broth was clean and well seasoned. Not much MSG added (big plus)

all the food is relatively fresh, does not taste frozen or canned. The crab / shrimp noodle is at the wow level good too! The meat in the banhmi is really tender, vegetable are refreshing!

The Thai fried rice was nothing special. Just subpar fried rice with chili flakes. The spicy noodle soup was ok, but nothing special. It's cash only but to be expected

Here is always on top of my Vietnamese restaurant list in Vancouver. They specialize in making bun bo hue (South Viet spicy beef noodle soup). For me the taste is original, not too oily or MSG. All the toppings are fresh and price is decent. The only note is they accept cash only

Great spot for bun bo hue and banh bot loc.this time the banh bot loc was a bit too chewy for me but overall still very good.

This cozy cafe of 8 - 10 tables oftten has customers lining up outside for table, especially on Saturday and Sunday! Cafe Xu Hue serves the best authentic Spicy Beef Noodle Soup "Bún Bò Huế", originated from Vietnam's historical imperial city Hue. The mastery clear broth is lemongrass, coriander fragrant yet full of beef flavours! Also highly.recommend their delicious steamed glutinous mini pot stickers with sautéed pork belly chunks and seasoned shrimp!

Small little place with amazing bun bo hue! It's different from the ones I've had before, this one has a lighter broth but comes with a bunch of toppings including pork balls, pig feet, and duck blood. You know a place is good when they only have 9 items on the menu!

Possibly my favorite meal out of my whole week in Vancouver. It is difficult to find a good bowl of bun bo hue and this was one of the best I've had in North America. The broth was clear, light and flavorful without any added artificial food coloring. It was rather spicy which was perfect for my taste buds. The bowl was full of toppings - blood cake, cha que, beef, pig trotter. Also loved their banh bot loc - the skin was chewy and the filling was delicious.

Highly recommend if you are a bun bo hue fanatic.

The Bun Bo Hue here is definitely the thing to get - it's the best in town!

I always go here. It’s a small restaurant with a small menu. Their pho ga (chicken pho) is the best in the lower mainland. Super flavourful. It’s $13.00. Comes with dark and white chicken meat and skin, and a quail egg, and they use the traditional thick rice noodles instead of the thin flat rice noodles that a lot of chain pho restaurants use. Their banh bot loc which they call Vietnamese sui mai dumplings are also very good; I would call them shrimp tapioca dumplings, the wrapping is very chewy, the fish sauce is on the spicier side.

Pretty good pho place, the Bon Bo Hue is very authentic as in it has all the traditional ingredients like pork hog, pork blod etc. Broth is flavourful too. Banh mi is not bad either, I wish there's more pickled vegetables in there. My favorite is the salad roll, the peanut dip is very yummy.

Bánh Bột Lọc‍️‍️‍️‍️ (love this so much. Completely exceed my expectations. The wrapper is smooth and chewy. The pork and shrimp stuffing is crunchy. Scallion oil and crispy onion on the surfaces. Sauce with a kick of chilli. Multi-layer taste with good balance.
Also nice price and portion. Perfect for a quick meal

Been several times to Cafe Xu Hue. Most people come for their specialty, BBH, but their other bowls are tasty too.

Most recent visit was on a Thursday for lunch. First time there’s never been a wait!

We both ordered the bun bo hue dac biet (#4) ($13.00). Good depth and flavour to the broth. Wouldn’t say it’s overly spicy but good variety of meats.

I don't usually order bun bo hue because it is spicy but this one was tolerable enough that I wanted to finish the soup base too. The base was packed with flavor and it tasted like crab or shrimp paste. I wanted to order this dumpling thing but it was sold out. I am 100% coming back to try that.

Tiny menu, but everyone is a winner. Bahn Mi, one of the best in the city. Tapioca noodles, delicious, textured and filling. Bun Bo Hue, perhaps the best in the city too. Cash only.

Really light and flavourful buon bo hue. From the picture, it doesnt seem like it, but I was quite surprised.
Ive also had their banh loc, it was quite big and tasty!

This place is usually busy. Service is 3/5- dont expect steller services. They are usually multi-tasking.

Delicious Vietnamese cafe style restaurant. They have a small but tasty menu. The broth was some of the best I've ever had. Prices are very reasonable and portions are good. Do note: they only take cash.

The best place for Bun Bo Hue and the service was top notch. Broth was tasty and the right amount of spiciness.

One of the best Bun Bo Hue in Great Vancouver. The flavor is authentic, really close to the traditional one. Soup paste is delicious and the beef is soft. It's a spicy dish with a lot of chilli oil. If you can't not eat too spicy, ask them to put less chilli oil.

Absolutely love this place. A hidden gem with an authentic Bun Bo Hue and Vietnamese dessert! It was sooooo gooood! Definitely come back for more.

Generous on herbs (Thai basil) unlike other chain restaurants which give you two leaves. Banana leaf too! It’s all about the herbs

They use all parts of the pig in the soup. This is a family runned business and accept cash only.

One of the best bun bo hue I've tried. Simple and flavorful, and just mildly hot. They do it right. The restaurant is a little dirty though

Really good bun bo hue here! The broth is quite light in color so I don’t know where the flavour comes from. You get a lot of diff types of meat including a pork hock. The place lives up to its name and recommendations. Def worth trying!

We tried this place cause of all the hype but can't say it was really "the bomb" as described. More expensive than others at almost $12 bucks a bowl and the noodles in the BBH were all broken.

We also tried #5 with the thick noodle which was interesting. First time having this and its supposed to be highly popular in Vietnam. The texture of the noodle was interesting and extremely chewy. I personally couldn't finish it as it felt extra filling.

Overall, I'd say everything was just okay and don't think I would feel the urge to come back.

This place use to serve really good and authentic bun bo hue. However, my last couple of visits have been misses. The soup has been so spicy to the point that I could not even finish the soup. I hope they start making their soup more consistent or else they will continue to lose customers.

This place is bomb! I've been going to this resto for years. From the harty soups to the freshly squeezed orange juice. I definitely recommend anyone to come to the resto and try the food yourself. I also got to know the staff through the years and I can say they are the nicest people!

People keep telling me to come try there bun bo hue. I find it's okay only not a big deal. There chicken pho is below average as well.

Portion was small, asked for a large.it was only half full. Service was pretty bad unfortunately in my experience as the male staff member came, grunted when I asked for more pho. Also, it was pretty dirty the table wasn't clean, we had to wipe it ourselves because it was a bit sticky.

Adequate food but expensive compared to other Vietnamese places in town, definitely not a one $ price range. Staff/owners are completely indifferent with no verbal acknowledgement of anything, never a welcoming smile or word. Plenty of other good Vietnamese restaurants in town to go to.

Don't their name fool you, this is not just a cafe only you will eat here too. They serve the best chicken Pho and Bun Bo Hue in the city in my opinion.

Small mom and pop restaurant that does what it does really really well. If parking on the street is full I always manage to find free parking spot on the 30th AVE just behind the restaurant. Cash only of course they do it old style. I have been coming in for a year and have not been disappointed once.

If I could have one wish it would be to put Mi Quang on their menu.

The worst experience for me and my family, the male waiter (i believed is the boss) treated us really bad, impolite, stare as us for no reason. The portion of the bowl of noodles is extremely less. Below is the photo showing the original portion of the whole bowl of noodle. I strongly do not recommend this.

I'm vietnamese and my family and I come here often because their bun bo hue dish is authentic and made right. It's so delicious and not too spicy. Just warm and comforting. They don't have a big menu but that's ok because they specialize in bun bo hue. We do enjoy their pho and banh mi too:)

This place has the best Bún bò Huế in Vancouver! I was never a fan of the dish, but once I tried it here. I've seen myself going back multiple times. I can't say much but to come here if you want to try something somewhat exotic or already know that you're a fan of Bún bò Huế.

I will mention that it is very Vietnamese and it's cash only, so be aware of that before coming here. Come though, you won't regret it:)

Best Bum Bo Hui in town, they serve only Bon Bo Hui basically not many choice on menu but you won’t need to think about other dishes when you have this special made.

Great bun bo hue at this place! For those of you who aren't familiar, its vietnamese spicy beef noodle soup. Unlike pho, the soup uses round rice noodles and not flat rice noodles. The soup is very flavourful and authentic. My only beef with this soup is there isn't enough beef in it. Well other people might not agree but I love my protein and enjoy lots of it. The restaurant isn't big either.and lunch is usually packed so get there early or later to avoid the lunch rush.

Small restaurant with a limited menu but it is focused and done right. Authentic dishes from Hue and have been said to be the best place for Bun Bo Hue. Not much service available but most likely due to how busy they always are - was there 20 minutes after they open on a weekend and there was already a line up at the door.
