Came to this post office instead of my usual because it would’ve been more convenient for me for this day. Went to mail something as lettermail but the staff member was insisting that it’s oversized, which is fine. However, when I simply asked why it’s oversized as I’ve never had issues with the same size letter before, instead of properly fitting the letter I was sending, the staff member was trying to show me that it wouldn’t fit by aggressively jamming my letter through the measuring board, bending it (when my letter was not to be bent). Of course it wouldn’t fit when you’re jamming the letter and making the envelope bend so it doesn’t fit the board.
My main issue is the way she spoke down to me as if I was being rude to her, and saying she’d bring a manager if I didn’t believe her. I was being polite the whole time as I work customer service and like to treat others the way I like to be treated, but the staff member started speaking down to me as if it was my fault I didn’t believe her rather than politely explaining to me how to letter was oversized. I don’t like being confrontational so I said I didn’t need a manager and would go mail my letter elsewhere. Went out of my way to go back to my usual post office and was treated politely and professionally as usual without any issues. Maybe the staff member was having a bad day which is understandable but maybe don’t treat others with an attitude and rude tone at your job for something that’s not their fault?

I always have great experiences and service. So glad that we have a Canada Post office on campus!
