Poor customer service. Trains running back and forth day and night, right next to campground. Scenic location.
25 August 2023 13:20
Camping simply overpriced. Paying $45 / night for unserviced site and there is still extra surcharge for a shower. This is just not right.

We went to get a campsite (that did not need to book in advance bc there were many available) as per the phone call last week. The lady at the front desk was incredibly rude. She was so ignorant the way she spoke to us! She will definitely not receive a penny from us ever! Unfortunately this business will not survive with her in charge! We will NEVER be back to camp or going in the hot springs!

We stayed in the Pine Cabin. Lovely place nestled in the valley surrounded by beautiful ancient trees and rainforest. The mineral pools were very relaxing after a day of hiking. Bonus if you like trains
We will definitely return!

Very beautiful campground however the staff are unbelievably rude to their guests. Went to the office to inquire about the pool, $17 for 2 hrs to swim in a pool at a resort you've paid to stay at.outrageous! Then while discussing, staff member said "so can we help you" and we replied with "we are just discussing" as two families of 9 people, and were then told "there is too many people in here, nothing here is free". EXCUSE ME, correct nothing is free anywhere actually but we paid $65/night to stay there so we weren't looking for any freebies. I've never been anywhere where I've paid to stay and had to pay for an amenity such as a pool? ! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Customer Service!

We lived there for two days. We understood the check out time was 11am but they started kicking us out at 10am. Good luck with everything!

Would not recommend staff are very rude And unfriendly, laundry is expense and the dryer does not work well. Total cash grab! Family swim is over $70 to swim for 2 hours. No working showers on the lower level campground and they also boarded it up. Definitely won't be coming back. Very disappointing for almost $100 a night.

I am going to start with the pros first:
The views from the campground are really beautiful, the Pool is refreshing and clean and so are the toilets and most of the staff is really friendly and helpful.

But sadly there are a lot of cons:

Pricing:
I get that it is a privat campground but the price difference just to stay there is absurd.
Additionally everything they can charge you for they do. E.g. Showers are 4 cad for 6 mins and a additional dollar for every minute, if you want to use the pool once or for the whole day to name a few. Also all the prices seem to be increased frequently since the old once are just cheaply taped up and/or just crossed out.

Pool area:
Just a quick heads up the rules at the pool were not enforced at all in my time here which is not a problem for me personally since my 5 yo brother had lots of fun with the *many* other children, about 25, but if you go there to relax maybe go when there are no kids inside.

Laundry:
We mainly came here to wash our clothes but that also was a bust. Pricing was ok at 3,50 $ for washing and 5,00 $ for drying (per load of course). But even after the second dryer cycle all of the clothes still were almost as wet as before. After I told the staff I was promptly informed that there cannot be anything wrong with the dryer and if we tried to hang dry our clothes can be stolen from the laundromat over night there will be no surveillance for the room, although 24/7 surveillance was promised ob a sign inside.
From that I conclude that anyone who camps on the site and therefore has the code to the laundromat can just steal your clothes out of the running washer or dryer.

Conclusion:
If you want to have a nice camping experience with your family for a few days and are not on a tight budget this could be a nice place.
If you look for a nice and quiet campground to relax at the end of a long day of driving, hiking, biking or something else maybe look somewhere else. Also if you want to wash your clothes like us do it somewhere else.
Its also worth to read some of the other 1-2 stars reviews since lots there I saw happen to other people!

Camped here after being evaluated from the Adams Lake forest fire. Called ahead to make sure they had room for our rig for 1 night and explained our situation. They put us in the most expensive full service site they offer when they clearly had non service sites available. Then, you have to pay an extra $17.00 per person to use the pools after dropping over $90.00 for the RV site. Place looks unkept with old picnic tables just flipped over into the trees. I do not recomend staying here with your RV or for the hot tub/pool. Staff not friendly and trains run right beside the campground all night.

This is likely one of the most over rated places around avoid unless you're interested in paying extra for oxygen! Charge for extra vehicle and no more than a family 5 had to pay extra as well as 70 dollars to swim in the pools never ever again

I have stayed at this campsite in 2016 and loved it and decided to come back for a visit but am very disappointed from the minute we had arrived. I DO NOT recommend staying at this campsite, unfriendly staff. I find the place a total cash grab and expensive. Won't be coming back or recommending to anyone. Don't waste your time keep driving they have nicer campground around revelstoke. Won't even give it a 1 star.

Agnes was lovely to work with! We were a group of three sites with adult children and dogs. We had called for a short notice booking and she was very helpful on the phone. We arrived and changed our sites and she refunded the difference without a thought. It turned a potentially bad end to a B. C.vacation to a great alternative. Park was relaxed and gave breathing space to campers. Thanks!
-Sites 1-6 are basically a parking lot
-142-178 are combat camping sites - serviced but on top of your neighbors.
-103-136 (where we stayed) were great unserviced sites. Some smaller for sure but some quite long and very private! Only 25%full while we were there. Train was heard but not obnoxious from this location.
Hot springs was a nice treat but not worth a one day visit.
Road noise would be an issue with the sites close to the office.
20-25 mins from Revelstoke and both hikes close by were closed, so made for a lot of commuting for activities.
Healing trail on site is cute but only a 10min walk. Would love some more pathways through the campground- lots of nature preserved to see!

Do not stay here! Total cash grab! Booked a site for $57 online. I was traveling with my dad. He had a camper van and I had a tent. We had been traveling all through BC the same way with no problems. Once we got there, I was trying set up my tent, the lady comes over just screaming, "What's that? " She tried making us get another site for the same price. Ended up just leaving and getting our money back.

Haven't been here since a kid. The sites are nice. I loved the selection of t shirts! We enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Was a relaxing way to break up a long drive.
06 August 2023 2:28
False advertising. They charge you 100$ for the family to use the pool. Absolute rip off. What a scam. Should damn well be included with the 70$ a night camp site charge. Everyone we spoke with on the site said the same thing. No river access to swim either. Money grab. Asian owners go figure

Stayed one night only in RV, lower section "Creekside"
Price for the site was higher than I'd have liked but there are limited options in this area.
Beautiful views, spectacular sunsets & sunrises but be prepared for the train noise.
The park is adjacent to a large curve in the CP mainline so lots of steel on steel throughout the day & night.
Doesn't bother me but I know some would be less forgiving.

Probably fine if you are in a cabin, or trailer, but camping is quite the challenge for sleep. Sounds like a 100 car train coming through your campsite with squeaky wheels, How often? Sometimes every hour and throughout the night. On the positive side, site #100 has a great view and close to a nice bathroom, and the hot spring pools were nice. One pool is cooler than the other one, which is around 106 F. Also, it is a 25 mi.drive into Revelstoke on Hwy 1. * someone told us to check out the mountain slide course at the ski resort, especially if you have kids. Ps we left our campsite a day early.

Loud trains ALL night long. Like-screeching, louder than someone yelling next to you. Highway is literally 200m from the site with loud cars. At least offer ear plugs or something. They have a floodlight on all night? Our tent was bright on the inside from it. Can’t see the stars. Poor signage- difficult to find the campsite. Staff was unfriendly. No discount for hot springs despite paying $45 a night for campsite (nearby campsites are $10). Something that looked like mould on the edges of the pools and showers. Really don’t recommend staying here or swimming in the pools. The only saving grace is that the forest and surrounding mountains are beautiful and the proximity to the park.

Management were rude and unhelpful. Any questions asked were a bother.

They weren't interested in the black bear roaming the camping ground.

There were couple with fires happening but chose to ignore it.

The unserviced rv sites were beautiful & green.

There were lots of wild devils club or foot bushes growing were children were playibeaware of unfriendly management.

We started a spontaneous family trip August long weekend. Everything was booked so we reserved 1 night stay online because that's all they had available but once we arrived the front desk staff did everything to get us an amazing spot for 3 nights. Everytime we visit the mineral pool we are greeted with smiles. Sites are great, washrooms clean, pool awesome.oh and the train passing thru is a great sound. We are already planning the next trip back.

We wanted to stay there with our mobile home, but the staff is very unfriendly.
No price transparency: I wanted to know what washing and bathing costs for our family. I was then told to check in first and then I would know. When I refused, I was directed to notice boards in the back corner.
In the end we would have had to pay $60 for 4 people with RV parking without service and $70 for swimming. No information about the laundry.
This place is not worth a stop! Please keep driving!

*Note: This review is for the gift shop only. * Drove here one evening to purchase ice while camping at Glacier National Park. When my husband told the cashier he wanted to purchase a bag of ice she asked where we were staying. After he told her we were not staying at Canyon Hot Springs she refused to sell ice and said we would need to drive to Revelstoke. She contended that she had to save the “limited ice” for guests. My husband explained that we had already driven 30 minutes and asked if she could please make an exception. Eventually she relented. My husband paid +$5 Canadian, she loaned us the key, and we walked out to the ice locker. It was PACKED FULL of ice. The bags were small, but price gouging is not exceptional for a rural store. What was absurd was a different cashier running outside to lock up the ice locker mere moments before my husband was about to lock it and return the key. I don’t know if she thought we were going to steal an extra tiny bag of ice or forget to return the keys. I had planned on buying some snacks, but after being treated like a petty criminal I was ready to leave. I will not be returning. I will gladly drive the extra hour round trip to Revelstoke.
